Crashing again-- because this has been such a unbelievable journey--
Today was my transfer...5 day transfer...We weren't sure if it would happen because I have never made it this far. I also was having some symptoms of hyperstim, but not too terrible. We had a long conversation about how many blastocysts we should transfer because we didn't think that we would get this far...and a multiple pregnancy would be scary, and possible unsafe, given my estrogen and body at this point.

So-- we elected to transfer 2 blastocysts, knowing that we might not have any implant. The other blastocyst might not make it to freezing-- actually, we don't exactly know if anything is going to be frozen. But right now, I've got two blastocysts inside of me and I just hope that they are healthy and that one implants. I also hope that my body heals some more.

We'll see. I received a letter today from the organ donor bank that my son's heart valves passed their quarantine and were requested by a hospital in the US for transplant. I am grateful for that. I need an extra dose of courage to get through this.

I am so absolutely excited for you. You are our first PUPO girl!!! And with twins, yay!!! Keeping everything crossed for you. I can't wait to hear about your BFP!!! When os yout Beta? Are you planning on POAS? By the way, I updated you on the Roll Call. You are PUPO, woohoo!!! Try not to worry about anything else. Concentrate on those ypur babies making themselves nice and comfortable.

Hi Ladies,

Fruit - PLEASE use us as a sounding board! That is what we are here for. We know how hopeless it can seem. I know when I'm down I always like to look to my next steps. Have you thought of using donor sperm? In my mind and heart parenting is about who raises them, not their biology...yet I know that biology can be very important to some. I know it's not a first choice, but let's face it, no one on the board is getting their first choice. That would be "Ooops, I'm pregnant...how did that happen???". So none of us expected us to be in this position and we are. None of us expected to even think of having to use someone else's genetic material, and we are. It's all about what you want. For us the question was "Do we want to be parents or do we want to have genetic offspring?". Both would be nice, but in reality we want to be parents. Hence we are using donor egg and donor sperm this cycle. Because we can only afford one more cycle and getting pregnant and being parents again is more important to us than biology. And I completely understand how important it is to have kids that are genetically related to you. It's such a tough option, but it can be a great one. But please use us as a sounding board. Let it all hang out girl!!! We're here to sop up the tears, give you a shoulder and give you a safe space to be a mess!

We - thank you for your support for everyone on this board. You are an inspiration too. Hoping that everything goes smoothly for your FET on the 30th of September - That's my hubby's birthday! It's got to be good luck!

Everyone else - I"m asking an extra special something tonight. My anonymous egg donor ERA2020 (that's how we identify her) is having her egg retrieval tomorrow! Please send an extra little prayer/energy out to her for a safe, easy and frutiful harvest tomorrow. I am so incredibly moved by what she's putting herself through to help us out (we're sharing her eggs with another couple). I'm sure she really didn't know what she was getting herself into when she signed up for this, but I'm hoping that it's easy and safe for her and that she knows that there are 2 couples that are forever grateful for her sacrifice. I am so moved by what she is doing for us and we've never met. I hope in her heart that she knows that this child(ren) will be in a very loving home and will be supported and cherished their entire life. Praying for buckets and buckets of eggs!!!

I walked out the house tonight to unload the groceries and I was thinking of her and everything she is going through for us, and just being humbled by her gift, and I looked up and there was a beautiful perfectly formed rainbow! I think it was a sign and a signal that our baby is coming home! Tomorrow is also the 13th which is our lucky number. My parents were married on the 13th, my mom found out both times she was pregnant on the 13th, and my hubby and I were married on the 13th. Yet another great sign that our baby will be conceived on the 13th. I just have a total peace in my heart tonight. I know it won't continue once I'm in crazytown in the 2WW...but right now I"m going to enjoy it. (Oh yeah and before I have to start my PIO injections tomorrow!)

Well the AF Dance worked !!! AF came a half a day early YIPPEEEE!!!! BCP's start on CD3 (Wed) and I am so excited!!!

Maria - of the 4 kids (I'm the oldest), only 1 of us is still in contact with our father. How sad is that. You'd think he would care, but apparently he doesn't. How does a man not care to be in contact with his children? Ugh. I'm always worried that I'll end up like him and not love my kids. People always reassure me "how can you not love your own children?" - but I know plenty of people who don't including my own father -- HURRAY FOR STARTING THE ESTROGEN PATCHES! WOOOHOOO!

Indigo -- yay! Hoping for lots and lots of eggs for your donor! If someone would have asked me 5 years ago if I would ever consider donating my eggs, I would have said "of course not!". So much pain and so much work - and how can you deal with having biological children you'll never meet? But now that I've been through this IVF night mare, I've changed my mind. Meeting women who so desperately want to be moms but just have issues with biology is soooo frustrating. I'm young and my eggs are healthy --- I've seriously considered donating eggs after we're done with the IVF (ie, after we have a kid or two). I'll probably still be young enough, right? (no idea what the age limits on donors is here....) I'm familiar with the process, I always have good results from the ER - so why not help make someone else's dreams come true? For now, I'm focusing on getting myself a baby - but after that, I would totally donate....

Kamina - IVF has been around a long time. 20 years ago, they used even MORE drugs and the women today are okay. I guess it's like anything -- you never know if you'll regret it in the future, but you have to do it for now. Best of luck on starting your cycle!

Fruit - like everyone else has said -- of course you are going to have down days! But vent to us - that's what we are here for... I have a different problem than you - no trouble getting pregnant from the IVF - but after 6 cycles and 3 pregnancies, I'm still sitting here with empty arms and starting to cycle again. I have also lost all of my faith... Hopefully cycle #7 will be lucky for both of us!

Cheri - HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY! I love birthdays! My husband's birthday was 9/11. Congrats on getting a sooner appt! Dontcha love that? Mine got pushed up a single day and I was so excited!

Sunshine & Stars - how many to transfer is always such a difficult decision. We've done both single and double transfers - some BFPs, some BFNs, a singleton pregnancy and 2 twin pregnancies. You never know... I hope this one brings your BFP. I'm happy to hear your son's organs got approved for donation. I'm a really big believer in organ donation. When my boys died, we asked about organ donation but were told that 24 weekers were too little and their organs weren't developed enough to be helpful. Oh well. ---- enjoy your 2ww and I hoping for good news soon!

Jen - hurray for AF! I'm glad she showed up early, instead of driving you crazy by being late. I also start BCP now!

AFM - well - AF isn't here exactly yet, but her annoying little cousin "brown spotting" has made an appearance, so I'm optimistic that I'll start a real period in the next few hours. Hurray! I get to start my BCP and start counting down to my FET.

hmmm... can I use tampons for my first PPAF after a C-section 9 weeks ago? Eh - I guess I'll be 'safe' and use icky, messy sanitary pads.

TMI alert - but I just went to the bathroom and AF is here in full force! Crazy how excited I get about that I start my birth control pill today - and in just 3 weeks, I'll stop them to start my FET cycle. Seems so soon and yet so far away!

(Jen - how come you start BCP on CD3? I was told on CD1.)

Leora-I am so sorry about your father. You don't have to ever worry about being the type of parent he has been because I know that you are going to be a wonderful mother. You've been through so much and want to have children so badly. There will be an appreciation for motherhood that you will have that many do not. You have so much love to share. Your child/ren will be very lucky to have you as a mommy. Woohoo for AF being here and starting BCP's. Things are realy moving now. And about the tampons, be safe and use pads. But I know exactly how you feel. I hate pads. I cant remember the last time I use one. Oh yeh, I remember, 12 years ago when I had my son. I hated not being able to use tampons. Buy

Woohoo leorira11, I'm so happy AF finally showed for you, its crazy to think we want "her" to come . I will be in count down mode with you for the next three weeks, I know this one is gonna work out for you.

Gonna be ordering my meds in the next week, that will make me feel like I am one step closer to making this a reality. Two days off from work and I am gonna spend them cleaning and making a blueberry cheese cake.

Hey everyone! I'm moving from the summer board to the fall board. I wasn't sure if I would make it to the fall board or any board after our failed IVF. But, thank God for the discounts our doctor's office is offering and a wonderful support on these boards, we can do it again! The goal is to start the stims sometime in Nov. So, there are a few things that have to happen before we can move forward, my hcg needs to get down to zero, as of yesterday, I was down to 7, so I will schedule my test for sometime next week, maybe Friday just to wait as long as I can and pray for a zero! Then, we need my thyroid levels to get to normal (2.0 and I'm at 5.163 right now-started generic synthroid last Thursday) I've never had any thyroid issues before, so I have no clue how long it will take to get mine under control, mine have been all over the place over the past 6 months, so hopefully this will happen quickly for me. So, the plan is: 1) take care of thyroid 2) wait for AF in Oct 3) start BCP's in Oct 4) start a mini flare something or another protocol in Nov. And this is total TMI, but I'm still bleeding, hopefully today will be the last day of bleeding (getting sick of bleeding and no sex and then I hope AF will come early in October, preferrably within the first week of Oct.....then that will mean we can start early Nov and be prego by Thanksgiving!!!!
