Ninde- Had a pretty good Friday :) Hope you did as well.

DH got his stitches out. He lost some color and said he almost passed out getting them out, at least with one of them. I just sat there and rubbed his other arm until they were out. They cut him different than we thought. We were thinking it was two small separate incisions but oh no. It started up under his thumb and down passed the wrist. Ugh I never want to see stitches again! I WISH we had a camera with us though. So now he's in a cast and they have him another week off. It isn't like he can do his job which is on computers.

My old RE FINALLY (well the records office) got back with me and they are sending me a release form to get my records from them. So we are probably looking at March to get them if we are lucky. I've have to send that back and then they send the records. Hopefully they keep a copy in case they are lost.

I've also found another clinic that isn't too badly priced compared to the military hospital we can go to. They meds aren't included at this one but it will still save us $2,000 because it will be local (in Atlanta Ga instead of DC) and we can always take DS to DC later. The in laws are in MD so we'll be visiting anyway. So that's a least two that are affordable for us and it's nice having a choice!! Trying to get info for another place but they don't want to reply to my email it seems so guess I'll be calling..this one is only 10 mins from my parents and the area we want to retire in.

I don't get how clinics can have just a huge price difference for a single try. Crazy! The two are so close in price considering the travel. I like having a CHOICE though!

Gena: Before you focus on price, I'd take a look at the clinic's success rate and the number of procedures they've performed. Success is more important than price because failure will cost you more in the long run.

Gina,
Ouch, taking stitches out sounds more painful then putting them in! I'm glad you were there with him during the whole process and he's home now. Atlanta, Ga wow! I used to live in Adairsville,Ga before we moved to Florida 3 yrs ago meaning I would of been living close to you had I not mailed off dh's job application! I wish I had some recommendations for you with the clinics there, we weren't considering treatment at the time but knowing what I know now we should of! :)

Atlanta has tons of opportunity for dh's job, and as you already know being the biggest metropolitian city in Ga you will have many clinics to choose from. I found my clinic down here through my obgyn, but research is always your best investment. I-75 here you come...and if you happen to come across Adairsville off Hwy 140-- check out Barnsley Gardens Resort for an afternoon stroll through the gardens...it will melt your troubles away, check it out online. :D

Kala, I wouldn't say you lost your friend of 24 yrs...Sometimes we drift away because of life-events (children, marriage, moving away etc.) but what I've come to realize is those friends who know you inside and out will always be a sister to you no matter what. She may not understand that you are in a different life stage then her. (While you are trying to raise a kid, she's still in school with a boyfirend.) Maybe she just needs time to grow up and figure out what she wants to do with her life, but I have a friend sort of like this and there was a time I felt we drifted apart. I married and moved to another state, while she stayed in town and married a guy who she fell head over heels over but didn't know he was an alcoholic and when his brother moved in the party scene was every night. While we tried to help her she wouldn't listen to anyone, only she could make the ultimate decision to get out that relationship. To this day, I still think it was little girl that saved her, maybe realizing that she needed to give her daughter a better life. Today she and her new husband are right in the middle of adopting and I was honored to help contribute to their life book for the adoption process. The three of them come down to visit me every summer, and I we talked about baby names and everything. My point is our best friends' of 20+ yrs have so much history with us...Maybe like a sister we sometimes tend to grow apart, but the "sister" is the one who keep coming back into our life down the road so don't give up on her. x

Kala- Thank you! Even if we aren't quite there yet, I feel better making some progress.

Alwaysangel- Congrats!!! Can't wait to hear how your numbers are tomorrow!

Christy- I've heard of Adairsville before!! I'm sure I've been near or through there. We are actually in Columbus, GA but spend a lot of time in Atlanta. I also wish we started a more aggressive approach towards IVF years ago too. Ugh! We had the money for the 100% refund ones too, but it went towards our first house. Ah well! :) I will def look that resort up! It sounds lovely enough if we just go for a mini vacation! Never hurts to get away. I want to try out http://www.sundialrestaurant.com/ in Atlanta!

Happy Bunny- Thanks. I understand what you mean and it's def something to look at! I looked at the success rates but I'm not so good at understanding them so will have DH look at it or I'll post them. Love that these have military discounts!! The one in Atlanta gets cheaper each cycle which is nice.

Gina1976 - Thanks! Very cool your husband has the same name. My great-great-grandfather's name was James Clark. :) As a tribute, we gave our son the same name (but Clark is his middle name). Baby dust to you too!!!

Kala - I can relate. I had a similar thing happen with my best friend (though the cause of the rift was different). We have been on different life paths for 4 years now - it took me 2 years to realize there was nothing I could do about it. She was just in a different place than I was and I couldn't deal with where she was (she also felt like she needed to lie to me and my family, but that's another story). So, I figured I would just go with the whole "if you love someone, set them free" attitude. I still hope we can be close friends again, but I am not holding my breath. It was very sad to go through. My heart breaks hearing your story.

Alwaysangel - Woot!!! Very exciting! Can't wait for your beta! :D

Maria - so glad to hear everything is still going well -

Christy - I saw on facebook that you are doing some kind of surgery this week? Is everything okay? -- about our blood types, I always brag that I get an A+ on the top of all my papers (when you are pregnant and have bleeding, everyone cares about your blood t ype, so it gets scribbled on all my hospital paperwork). The easiest A I've ever gotten! I got an A+ just by being born!

Nicole - how's the FET going? You should be pretty close to transfer, no?

Kay - welcome back! Like you, I wasn't expecting to be back here quite so soon... I was expecting to be home with my boys. Crazy, no? Miscarriages after such a big losses just seem like salt on the wound. I hope we both get our rainbow babies, but I know that things will never be the same for either of us.

Felicia - great news! I know most of us are totally happy with either, but it's so fun to know! Any name ideas yet?

Patricia - Hysteroscopy will be Feb 8 (if we do it, I go for follow up bw/us on the 6th) and our trip is the 17th- so 9 days before. The scary thing is if I need a surgical hysteroscopy or a D&C after the diagnostic hysteroscopy - that will be really close to vacation. But the last D&C wasn't so bad and I was up and around the next day. February is almost here - then March! Hopefully we'll both be cycling before you know it

Kerri (akdelp) - UGH. So annoying that your lab will not admit it and let you start again! I hope this FET is the "one"...

LIbby - definitely in the right spot! Don't worry about getting to know everyone - we'll all know you! :D Congrats on your son -- I hope having #2 is really easy for you!

Kala - one failed cycle doesn't mean anything is wrong -- my doctor calls this the "black hole" -- after embryo transfer, there is no way to check on what's going on and no way to guaruntee that the embryo will become a baby. 1 failed cycle isn't diagnostic of anything - and you DEFINITELY did nothing wrong! I have fantastic pregnancy rates, but have still had 3 BFNs. It happens - just part of the process.

Lydia - oh my! I'm so sorry Oh honey -- I know that as happy as you are that one baby is doing well, losing that second baby is devastating. Maybe talk to RioGirl (did you ever cycle with her?). She had twins last year and lost one between 6 and 8 weeks scans. She went on to have a healthy baby girl. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Of course, a singleton pregnancy is easier and safer, but you loved that second baby just as much as the first. Big hugs...

Gina - no advice on cheaper meds, sorry! If I have any leftover, I'll let you know. UGH - how annoying that it'll take that long to get your records!

Lori (always angel) - congrats! See - that other test was too early! :D I can't wait to hear your awesome beta number today!

AFM - just chilling until next week's bw/us follow up. I really hope that my beta is SUPER low and this damned thing on the u/s goes away --- I'd really like to avoid this hysteroscopy scheduled for Feb 8th.

We had a nice weekend. Now it's Sunday morning at 8am and I'm at work! :D Don't y'all be jealous at once!

Counting down to vacation - I can't believe it's so soon! I hope we have a great time.
