Hi all,
I have started stim meds, continuing with lupron, follistim, and menopur-today was just day 2 and have so much pain and discomfort already. I have a lot of pain on my lower left side, right around my ovary, and pain radiating around to my back on both sides. I go back for U/S and BW on Wednesday, it feels like that is forever away right now. This is the first time for my husband and I doing IVF, its very scary to think all of this could be for nothing....I dont want to think that way, but it is so hard to stay positive when I already feel bad and it has just been two days of stims... Any advice would be great. Did anyone else feel bad right away?

Christy- We love going to Braves games! Our last was this past summer in Aug and never again! It was way too hot and of course it had to rain for a little during it, and boy was it humid after! Haven't been to six flags in a LONG time. We first have to get his retirement approved. He'll turn it all in either this week or the next. IF it's approved we should be gone by late Nov. There may be a way we can leave in Sept also which we rather do. That way we get a couple of months to get settled before he's officially out. If not it will be more hectic.

Here it is 3am and I can't sleep! Too much on my mind. It also doesn't help that BOTH dogs wanted in the bed with us. They are small but it's annoying! Once in the states we are selling our Queen bed and getting a King for more room! lol

Supergenius- I looked at them and wanted to do their 100% refund but it was too much for us, at least now. We don't want to wait any long for at least our first try. I'll have to look at them again for just one cycle. We are trying to stay under $10,000 or at least pretty close.

Lori - well - congrats! You are pregnant. I know everyone wants a really good number, but 34 is positive. When is your next test? That'll tell you much more info.

Christy - again, not sure how I mixed you up with Heather! Poor Heather though... I also have some people with babies who don't bother me at all and others that I can't stand being around. Oddly, it's not always IFs vs non-IFs. I have a friend who has an "oops" baby -- we spent all summer pregnant together, and then she had a healthy baby girl in Sept and I lost my boys. Strangely, she is the most sensitive and most understanding of almost all my friends. I can talk about her baby forever- I don't mind updates or talking about her. Another friend who had to do Clomid/IUIs, etc - her kid pisses me off and I can't stand being around them. Weird, huh? But after the last few years, I reserve the right to be as picky as I want and choose who to hang out with on NO basis at all I need to do what's best for me, even if it doesn't make sense to anyone else (or even to myself!)

Gina - I wish I could help deciding on clinics - but I really have no idea. Success rates are one thing, but so is price and convenience... We have one small dog (15kg) and he takes over the WHOLE bed! We have a Queen, but I also want a King next time we buy one! The rooms here are really small, so a King will go basically from wall to wall in our bedroom... but I think it's worth it for some leg space!

Amy (kerpupples) - OH NO! I hope it's nothing. Again, I had a TON of bleeding and my boys were fine. I hope all is good at tomorrow's u/s! Keep us posted. I'll be stalking for results!

Janis - welcome back - That pain sounds unusual - could it be from something else? I would definitely mention it to your doctor.

I'm going to pass on my formula coupons... how depressing...

I'm thinking of getting a beta done on Thursday, just to see, instead of waiting until next Monday. I want to have a better idea of how likely I am to need the hysteroscopy next Wednesday.

This Wednesday, we have 2 appointments in Tel Aviv (about 45 min drive from Jerusalem). One is with a RPL specialist. We made this appt in August for Feb 1st (ugh). I didn't really understand what the point was (I'm not really RPL - since 2 of my pregnancies went into the second trimester and were lost to prematurity...) but now that I've had a 2nd miscarriage, I'm interested in what he'll say. As far as I understand, we've done the testing for RPL already and everything was fine (clotting issues, hysteroscopy/HSG, chromosomal, etc). Maybe he'll have an idea.

The second appt is to open a file with the new RE's clinic, which is near Tel Aviv. I'll do all the SnS here in Jerusalem, but the IVF clinic is near Tel Aviv - so we'll have to go out there for the ER and ET. This should be the only time I go out there besides ER/ET - but I need to fill out some paperwork there.

The pain is better today, I spoke to my MD yesterday and he just said if it got worse he would see me today, so I think I will stick with my Wednesday US and BW, just sleeping and sitting in a comfortable position seemed to help last night. So hopefully the ultra sound will show good things on Wednesday.

Leora- Where are you going on vacation??? Good luck at your appointments this week. I am so sorry you were down, I have those days too and every time I have to talk to the clinic I get enraged afterwards. I want to just yell at them, but know that won't fix anything. Yeah, keep Adele off and turn on some jammin' music!

Alwaysangel - congrats!!!

AFM - feeling pretty good. This cycle is different. Every time before I would start estrace AF would stop within a day. This time it has ran it's normal course. I think this is a good thing since the last two cycles I have had bleeding issues in there and lost both. Maybe I am just trying to "make it work" in my head.... Have a great week.

Phew, I'm glad that ultrasound is over and done. It's no fun waiting around to figure out why you were bleeding. Turns out that, just like Maria, I had a subchorionic hematoma. They called it a "big bleed" so I'm to take it easy, but they still didn't sound particularly worried, since they said they see it in about 90% of their twin pregnancies. Yes, it's official, I'm having twins! We saw both heartbeats but they were only able to measure one due to the position of one of the babies. Next ultrasound is on Monday, 1/13.

Maria - how's the nausea? Hope that brown has turned to nothing!

Leora - thanks for the reassurance. Have a feeling this pregnancy is going to be an interesting one. How long did you bleed with the boys? I'm working on my ticker - for some reason I'm having trouble with the img tags in my signature. Sorry to hear about those darn formula coupons. If they get the info from the hospital, it would be nice if the hospital would make them retract the information if your babies don't make it. Your Tel Aviv drives should hopefully be manageable. I had about a 40 minute drive for our retrieval and transfer, and it wasn't a big deal.

Gina - I think Shady Grove has a good reputation if that's something you're willing to consider. I'm not much help on success rates since several of the clinics in my area have outstanding success rates. Got any family in CO?

Alwaysangel - let us know about that second beta. Since you were a tad early with that first I suspect you are just fine.

Blue - will you still run the 1/2 if you get pregnant?

Thank you for asking, the dark brown blood is gone now, thank God. But I'm trying to take it easy. The nauseas is really bad. Nothing seems to help.
