LauraN wrote:Hey everyone! I'm moving from the summer board to the fall board. I wasn't sure if I would make it to the fall board or any board after our failed IVF. But, thank God for the discounts our doctor's office is offering and a wonderful support on these boards, we can do it again! The goal is to start the stims sometime in Nov. So, there are a few things that have to happen before we can move forward, my hcg needs to get down to zero, as of yesterday, I was down to 7, so I will schedule my test for sometime next week, maybe Friday just to wait as long as I can and pray for a zero! Then, we need my thyroid levels to get to normal (2.0 and I'm at 5.163 right now-started generic synthroid last Thursday) I've never had any thyroid issues before, so I have no clue how long it will take to get mine under control, mine have been all over the place over the past 6 months, so hopefully this will happen quickly for me. So, the plan is: 1) take care of thyroid 2) wait for AF in Oct 3) start BCP's in Oct 4) start a mini flare something or another protocol in Nov. And this is total TMI, but I'm still bleeding, hopefully today will be the last day of bleeding (getting sick of bleeding and no sex  and then I hope AF will come early in October, preferrably within the first week of Oct.....then that will mean we can start early Nov and be prego by Thanksgiving!!!!

I am praying and thinking about each one of you daily! Good luck to all of us and this is the cycle!!!! woo hoo!!! :D
LauraN-we cycled together on the Summer Board. I've continued to follow you over there even after I left after my MC. I am sorry that you are going through this but feeling very confidant thatthe Fall Board is going to be very good to you. I just know that this is going to be it for you. There is a great group here. We are always here for each other. I will officially add you to the Fall Roll Call a little later today. But in the meantime, welcome my friend.

Akdelp- have you asked about numbing cream for your shots? One of my biggest fears ever are needles, and so before I started, I got a prescription for numbing cream. It is fantastic!!!! You have to kinda experiment with the timing for you personally, but what worked for me, for the PIO shots, is to put it on the spot for 1 hour 1/2(we would draw a circle around the area to shoot, put the numbing cream in the circle, put a piece of seran wrap with tape for an hour 1/2) then the last 15 minutes, with the cream and wrap still on, I would add an ice pack.....I never felt the shots! I still got the bruises. So there were a couple of times were I did feel something, but that was while we were experimenting with the timing of the cream and ice pack. The nurse told me to add the ice pack so that it would get down to the muscle and numb it. It may sound like a lot of work, but for someone who would rather eat worms than get a shot- it was fantastic. I actually used the numbing cream for all of the stim shots too- just had to keep it on for less time. Let me know if you want more info on it. I personally think they should just make it part of the package for anyone going through this!! Good luck with everything, I'm praying for you!

LauraN-I'm a nurse but definantely not looking forward to the PIO injections. I also requested the numbing cream. I had my RE call in Lodocain 2.5%/Prilocain 2.5%. Is this the one you used? I will also be adding the ice for 5 minutes. My DH who is also a nurse will be giving me the injections. I am so not looking forward to it but it will be all worth it.

Yes, that's the one that I used, but I can tell you that 5 mins of ice wouldn't have done it for me....I tried 10, and 15 minutes was the perfect time, 20 actually numbed it so much, I couldn't even feel my husband put in the needle, I was fussing at him telling him that I didn't want to lay there all night and he laughed and said he was almost done. So, just know that you may have to play around with the time you leave the cream and ice on. Don't forget on the cream, to dab it on with the tube, don't rub it in with your fingers or anything, and then put a piece of plastic wrap on it and secure that down with tape. Oh, and I am just throwing this out there, don't forget to clean off the cream before you actually do the shot (my friend didn't realize that you were supposed to do that).

Hi Ladies,

As always I am so sorry about my MIA. I just do not always have the energy to keep up. I have been reading and stalking as well as praying for those of you in the 2ww. I have way too much catching up to do before I attempt personals. I will try to do a better job of keeping up  !

AAM
- Well I went to my RE today to pick my date for my FET and let me start by saying that I am nurse and I work in the hospital where I am used to having some sort of control. I had already picked Sept 30 for my day and put in that request for time off. So I just figured that would be my transfer day. Well.....my doc looked at everything and feels like next week would be my best time!!! I am now freaking out  . DH will not be here next week which means I have to find someone to take me ... also meaning that I will have to tell my business to someone and very few people here know that I am doing IVF  . After going back and forth on days with my doc we finally decided on 9/22. DH is Kuwait so it is not easy to get in touch with him. I have been frantically calling and emailing him because I am so nervous about this transfer. He finally called a coupe hours ago and calmed me down ... like only he can. I had to scan and email the consents to him because we figured we had time to fill them out when he got here in 2 weeks. I am so upset because DH and I will not be able to BD until God knows when. He will only be here while I am in my 2ww!! He has been gone since August and I am dying  !

Sooooo I continue my Estrace (now 3 times a day) and my RE is switching me to Crinone which I start on Saturday. I have to run in and have bloodwork done on Friday and then we will be all set! I am a little excited, but also nervous because I was not ready for a transfer this soon. I managed to get my schedule at work changed a little, but it looks like I will only be off for 2 maybe 3 days - which would include the day of my transfer. My RE did not think it would make a difference but I was looking forward to taking it easy for a few days AFTER the transfer. But when I go back to work tomorrow I will see what I can come up with.

Leorira- I am not sure why I start on CD3. At my old RE we started on CD1 but the new RE is different. They also don't monitor Stims or watch E2 levels either! They are odd.. LOL I also wanted to chime in about Dad's. My father has two childen and he doesn't have anything to do with either one of us. He decided to raise his two steps kids like he should have raised his two girls. OH WELL, their loss not ours. Don't worry- you wont turn out like your dad. You have a heart of gold!
Image

LauraN- Sounds like you have a good plan in place, hope AF isn't stubborn! A Thanksgiving pregnancy sounds PERFECT!!!!
Image

fvrogers-- your cracking me up with the bedding. I am sure it's hard with DH away from home! Good luck on your upcoming transfer! One thing I hate about IVF is dates are never in stone so you never know when you are going to transfer etc. I am always having to think of a reason for time off on the fly when I am going through a cycle, I am sure my employer probably thinks I am crazy at times. Oh well-- what we do to have babies LOL
Image

AFM-- today was a hard day  My new SIL had her son this morning. Anytime a baby is born around me I tend to get a little ummm, pissy? Poor DH had to hear me complain all morning. My SIL didn't want anybody coming to the hospital or being around the baby either... weird. I talked to my IVF nurse today and I should have my final calander shortly since AF started on Monday. CD3 will be BCPs which is tomorrow and baseline Ultrasound scheduled for 9-30. Stims coming in October! Things are moving along, keeping the PMA even though I am terrified of another IVF failure. This is try #4, at some point this has to work right????

xoxo-- Jennifer

Hi Everyone,
It's been a busy week on the boards and glad to see so many moving right along. :D Just wanted to drop by and say hi, hopefully have more time in the morning to post some personals before work. My boss is on vacation and left the store for us to do markdowns/floor moves/while achieivng daily sales plan while she is away, and today we received 15 cases of ladies merchandise, so it's really was like Christmas for us! Anyway, it's a sure sign that I need to get in bed when I find both labrador retrievers sound asleep at my feet and I love the way they softly snore. I LOVE my precious furbabies!

sad day for me today.

Exactly one year ago today, I had the D&C that finally ended my missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. I learned that the baby had died at 8 weeks and spent 2 long weeks waiting for things to end until I finally insisted on a D&C. I had some spotting at 5 weeks which made me really nervous, but had a perfect u/s at 6 weeks - including our little sprinkle's flickering heartbeat.

That sprinkle was from our 4th cycle - I had already lost my first set of twins and had 2 failed FETs. I was so excited to be pregnant again - with a due date so close to my first pregnancy (May 1, 2010 and April 18, 2011). Everything just felt so 'right'.

I can't believe I'm sitting here a whole year later - my arms still empty and my heart more broken than ever.

Leora,

Words cannot express the sadness I feel with you--I remember that time last year as well.

That said, I really don't think I know a stronger woman, or one that will be/IS a better mom that you. I will be following you (if you don't mind) along your journey to hold your rainbow baby.

Lots of ((HUGS)) and prayers as we are soon to enter the new year. I will definitely be praying for a year filled with happiness for you (whether or not I can get myself to Shul).

I know what you mean about always being in control. I am a nurse a's well and I am typically in some sort if control. IVF is a whole different animal. There is no control there. We have to leave it I. god's hands and trust that the changes are for the best. So with that said, I am so excited for you. Although I am going to miss having my FET the same day a's you I am so happy that things are going so well with you that you are now having your FET on 9-22-11. So exciting g. This is your time. I can feel it. I am saying lots of prayers for you.
