Zoegirl---- I know exactly what you mean!!!! I can't eat anything sweet except for fruit and very few exceptions of chocolate...it is the weirdest thing I too feel like there is way too much sugar in everything and somethings like cookies which I have always LOVED now taste almost bitter...ugh bummer I was so hoping to finally pig out on sweets. Actually part of my morning sickness which is pretty intense now (I got a script for Zofran today as I feel I will not be able to teach a full class soon without being sick) everything tastes off to me except for fruit. I guess we should consider this a blessing in disguise since hopefully we will not put on as much weight as of we were able to eat desserts..

Ryan---- I totally feel you on the morning sickness and it has gotten worse in the last week. I am usually ok with people eating in front of me but now I have to be careful what I smell since so much makes me gag...I will try the Zofran and lets see if it helps...so far citrus fruit and carbonated water have been my redemption.

Klinger--- I am so glad the surgery went well and the pain will get better really soon. I remember I was really sore too and sneezing or laughing was terrible at first but after a couple of weeks is got much better and now I sometimes forget its even there. Only thing is that whenever I used to try to lift something heavy (before I was preg) I could feel the pulling on the stitch but my doc just laughed and told me not to lift anything heavy (like 40+ lb) I am glad you are starting to feel better and I am sure this will give you a peace of mind.

Ginger and Karina welcome to the group and congrats on your pregnancy :)

Ana---yay for another great ultrasound :) we will also not be doing any extra tests and definitely no amnio....This baby is a keeper :D so how are feeling? I think you and I are pretty close together so are your clothes getting tight? Somehow I managed to gain 5 inches in my waist already while I am still 4 lb down from before I was preg

Mellow---I am so glad that the twins are doing great...You are always in my prayers. I am sorry that everyone went on vacation and left you behind but we are here and I am always here is you need to talk. I so wanted to go somewhere this spring since we always take a cruise in the spring but DH does not want to go far from our docs so no vacation for me either...lol that's ok I am so grateful for this baby that I would forgo many vacations just to make sure it is healthy and ok

Rio I am so sorry about the GD it must be really hard having to worry about that all the time.

Sonya---I totally wish for a boring and uneventful pregnancy too... :D I had no morning sickness with my son but this time I do have it and its pretty bad and also I cry at the drop of a hat which is not at all like me...ugh its like I lost all control over my emotions...I cry for every romantic comedy, sentimental commercial its just nuts!!!! anyone else feeling extra weepy? so the 3d ultrasound sounds so exciting!! I can't wait to see the pictures!!

txcp---congrats on your pregnancy and good luck with the u/s :) it will be great

babyblue I am so with you on the terrible morning sickness!!!!! this is terrible I can't wait to be out of the 1st trimester and hopefully feel a bit better.

I know I missed a few of you and I am sorry--I simply could not go far enough back and not loose my post. I am wishing all of you a wonderful week full of positive news and emotions

AFM we had our 7 week ultrasound today and the baby measures PERFECT!!! it is definitely just one now which makes me feel better...not that I would not be thrilled with 2 but with my TAC I feel 1 is best. We got to hear the heartbeat which was a perfect 139. It is amazing how much the baby grew in 1 week!!! the baby was almost half an inch today so it tripled its body size in 1 week...ah amazing. I am still a bit cautious and still not excersizeing like I used to ( I walked 3 miles daily before I got preg) if I overdo it I do get some round ligament pain and then I get scared so just taking it easy.

Hello ladies,

Sounds like things are going great for everyone! So happy to hear it. There is nothing better then seeing those little babies/baby on that screen!. :D It's crazy how many twins there are on here. Anyone having more then 2? I saw were some of ya'll were not liking sweets so much. My Re puts everyone on a no carb diet from the very start till the 2nd trimester. They said it cuts down on miscarriage by half, has anyone else ever heard that before? I think that is one of the reasons I was having such awful morning sickness (b/c of the food). Thank God for Zofran it has been a lifesaver for me! How long are you all staying with your RE then switching a regular OB? My RE keeps us till about 10 wks. And we have to have an U/S once a week. Are ya'll getting other scans besides regular U/S? Are they with your OB or RE? How long till we can tell the genders? I thought I remembered 20wks with my 2 DD but someone told me that it's actually sooner? Nothing new with me. I haven't had any bleeding as of yet, although at my last U/S the saw aome fluid building up and thought I might by now. Guess we'll just have to look at my U/S this Monday. Hope everything continues to go well for everyone this week! Ya'll are in my thoughts and prayers!!!

easley~ I have been in the same boat as the other girls...I want nothing to do with sweets. The thought of it makes me gag.
My Re will release me after my next appointment, I will be 10 weeks. I could tell my son was a boy at 14 weeks...it all depends on what the baby is willing to show :) A lot of times it's later, we were pretty early with 14 weeks, and it wasn't even a question, he was all boy! haha. I have also been having a u/s once a week while I am with my OB. I have an appointment next week with a Perionatologist, not sure if he delivers so I may have to have an OB as well. Guess I will find that out on the 14th. I've never heard anyone say that about carbs...but I haven't been eating many because of my sore teeth..I have braces and they make it hard to eat breads and such. It may be why I am not gaining any weight :) I hope your bleed goes away and doesn't give you any problems...we are really struggling with mine. I am on bed rest, not able to do much of anything. Twin pregnancies are more likely to have these types of bleeds for some reason. Anyway, I hope that answers some of your questions. Hope you are well! :)

Anna~ So glad you had a good ultrasound today!! :) It is amazing how quickly the babies change from week to week..wait until the next one, you will be shocked at how much more detail you can see each week that goes by. Happy for you!!

Zoegirl~ Sweets=Yuck for me too.. It will change, after the first trimester is over and you are well into the second, your tastes will change. :)

Amanda~ glad you are starting to feel a little better every day. :) that is good news!

Sonya~ uneventful sounds really, really great! :) Glad you are doing so well.

AFM~ It's toooooo quiet at my house with everyone gone. :) I am going to get lonely this week, but it gives me a chance not to worry about what needs to be done around here, so I can rest. Looking forward to my appointment on Monday, can't wait to see my babies.

Mellow - rent tons of movies and take it easy! I know it will get lonely, where did they go? 3 plus DH right? You are going to have such a full house! :) what a blessing, sorry you still have some bleeding, hopefully it will go away soon! Congrats on your healthy beans! Hope your headaches are better

easley - a no carb diet? are you checking for Ketones? that sounds really odd. I have GD and I am going to the nurticionist and she said the minimum amount of carbs I have to eat is 15g bfast, 40 at lunch and dinner and 15 g snacks. My endocrinologist said if you eat any less than what you are supposed to your body goes into ketosis and it gets in your blood stream and it is detrimental to the baby, so I am shocked your RE said no carb diet...

Annas Congrats on seeing your bean!

Amanda c-sec can be challenging but so is a vaginal birth. Are you delivering at close to 38 weeks? Because of my GD I will be delivering close to 38. Congrats on your second trimester!

Anacris great US! too bad you have to wait so long for another!

Karian - so glad to have you here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sonya - I am so happy you are having a "boring" pregnancy! After all the worrying you have been through, this is a nice relaxing break! Are you finding out the sex on your 3D? Post pics!

txcp - welcome!

AFM - Baby is measuring one week ahead already! It was wonderful to see him (we think it is a boy) and he is healthy with a perfect HB. On a sad note, it was sad to see the no longer living twin next to him. Always side by side the two of them. Whenever I talk to our son (2yo) about the baby (we never told him it was once two babies) he will tell me, "no mommy, 2 babies, I have two brothers at home" that just really pulls at my heartstrings. The Ob also eased my fears and said that as long as I follow my diet and what the endocrinologist said that I should not stress out about anything. He also said my ovaries are a swollen mess and that he cannot believe the amount of pain and discomfort I have endured so far - I had OHSS. So great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my NT scheduled for the 24th, since I had a twin who lived until almost 8 weeks, I will not be able to do the first trimester blood screen since my results will be off.

Hi everyone. Nice to see the group growing and lots of babies on the way. Time is certainly flying and we will all be woddling around before we know it.

Klinger- I'm so happy you have your TAC. The recovery is a bit harder I hear when pregnant. But honestly it'll be worth it. I found extra strength tylenol to be the best for pain. The prescribed stuff made me sick! Everyday will be a little better. Promise!

I had an u/s yesterday with new MFM. All looks great and my cervix is long and closed. Yeah! Did the blood work portion of my first trimester screening. Will do the scan part in two weeks and get the results while there. I'm not worried bc we did PGD aneuploidy screening on all sets of chromosomes.

I guess I'm the only sweets eater right now? Hehehe. I love me some chocolate or brownies or ice cream. I have it in moderation. Salads are making me sick and find them too hard to digest. Ugh.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Too darn tired for lengthy personals right now. Xoxo

Hello ladies. I was wondering if I could join your group. I was on the 'Mums to be June 2011' board but no one has posted since before Christmas. I read the page 1 intros but did not read the 30 pages there are of posts, so sorry if I am behind. I am currently 16 1/2 weeks pregnant. I'm due June 19th, Father's Day! My next appointment with the OB is January 28th and that will be our ultrasound to find out if this baby is a girl or boy. I wanted a girl and my husband wanted a boy, I have a feeling it's a boy though. My husband is finding out that day, I am not. My husband is going to surprise me and let me know what it is (he already has things planned for both genders). I think it's more fun this way, and since we did in-vitro, I never got to surprise him about the news of me pregnant, so I figure someone should get a surprise out of it, it's just going to be me!

Amanda: I'm glad your surgery went well.

Rio: All you have endured will certainly be worth it!.I'm so glad you baby is doing so good, he has a little angel taking good care of him....I'm so happy to be here!... so unexpected!.

Deidraj: That sounds too funny!... Are you going to be able to resist the curiosity?... I know I would not!

AFM: I don't feel anything yet!... I've been waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and then I can't go back to sleep. I get really hungry in the afternoons... No morning sickness yet!!!

I guess I've been worried and want to know everything is OK in there. I even POAS today so I could prove to myself that I'm still pregnant :)

Here is our little bean! You can see the other gestational sac just above him, OB is also so considerate to actually not have the other baby in view when he takes the pic.

Rio - What a beautiful pic! Your little one is looking great. And yes, I'll deliver early because of the TAC. My actual due date is 7/14 but I'll deliver around 38 weeks to make sure the c-section is done before I go into labor.

Karen - Thanks so much for everything! I did switch to Tylenol yesterday and did ok. Overnight was rough with the pain but I didn't want to stay on the percocet too long and I'm sure it will get a little easier each day. Glad to hear your appt with the new MFM went well and YAY for a long, closed cervix!

Karina - I had a little bit of nausea but that was it. No real morning sickness so maybe you'll be lucky too!

deidraj - Welcome! Cool idea on how you'll find out the gender. DH & I can't wait to find out!

annashope - So glad your u/s was great! Sounds like your little one is doing awesome.

AAAAAHHHH!! SO excited! Saw TWO yolk sacs today and TWO early hearbeats!!! Doc is really pleased and said many of his December cycle group resulted in twins for some reason. They grew really fast in the past week - from measuring 4 weeks1 day to measuring 6 weeks!
I did not call DH, just texted him. I did not want him to kill my buzz. Called MIL who seemed moderately pleased. I think she is worried that we can't handle it. Whatever.

A question. DH is freaking out, thinking that one of the babies is sure to be Downs or Autistic due to our age. He remembered hearing me express distaste at the idea of an amnio or CVS and said that he could not handle twins if one is a special needs child - that "would be the end of us." I hope he wouldn't run out on a wife with two new babies and a toddler - I don't THINIK he would. He has always found stories of special needs kids to be so heartbreaking and sad - he can't see that parents of these kids could get any joy out of their lives.

I asked him not to worry about Downs and Autism, as our screening will not be for weeks and weeks . . . If, after the screening and the diagnostic ultrasound, they determine that the risk of one of these conditions is greater than the risk of performing the procedure (CVS, Amnio), then of course I would seriously consider having the procedure. If one of the babies has a serious condition we would have to consider what to do about it. But of course, I said, you have to understand that a woman would not be too excited about the idea of a giant needle being inserted thru her abdominal wall into her uterus where the baby is living - it's disturbing, probably painful and potentially harmful.

It's strange . . . I am usualy the one panicking and scared about things and he is the one telling me to take it day by day and not to jump to conclusions or assume the worst. I asked him to think of all the things he has said to me over the years and then tell them to himself.

Zoe - Congrats on two heartbeats, have you considered going to marital counseling with DH? It might help your situation.

Amanda - I hope your pain level is a bit more tolerable, I am sorry, take it easy!

Karian - The worrying will never end hun ;) !

Welcome deidra! I love the surprise idea!

karen - great news on your cervix! Yeah I have no choice on eating sweets right now cause of GD!

What is your best guess on what the sex of the baby (ies) is? I think we are having a boy!

Thanks - we are in marital counseling. Have been for 15 months. Our marriage has been solid since Spring - we stayed in it in case the IVF and/or pregnancy turned out to be difficult. Our session on Monday was helpful. We don't have another one scheduled until 1/17.

Zoe - have you considered maybe having DH go by himself? Seems like he has a lot of mixed emotions and is not dealing with this very well. When you guys did IVF what was his reaction to the thought of twins? When we thought we were having twins (we have a 2yo) we were of course overwhelmed but very happy and our thought is we will handle it fine whatever comes out way. Unfortunately one twin "vanished" at 8 weeks. We were actually very bummed out and not relieved at all at the thought of not having twins. I hope this is just temporary and that your Dh will accept and be happy, maybe he should go to the apts with you to see the babies? I don't think there is any need for amnio or CVS unless the other tests show a risk. 38 is not that advanced of a maternal age, at least not in this group! :) Hope it all goes well and sorts itself out.
