Hi Little P and all the 2ww

You're right about this being the place where we all go crazy!

I have posted a couple of times about insomnia and it is not getting any better. I was ready to get up and call it a day at 5am this morning. I have not been having caffeine and am getting progressively more and more tired but to no avail. Any ideas anyone?

Otherwise I have been resting, watching dvds and am ready for some gentle walking before I go totally bananas! Just where is maid service when you need it? The house looks a tip! (Sorry dh!)

Emotionally I have been all over the place - I swear this is the worst time for me. Only a week and two days to go before testing.

Good luck to everyone else.

Hang on in there you poor thing. It is torture. Can you give yourself little wins each day - something to aim for that makes the day more bearable, like getting your hair done, meeting a friend for lunch?
Feel for you - just tell yourself it'll all be worth it.
To make you feel better my house is a tip too
Take care

Morning, what a lot of posts already!

I don't want to start tempting fate but sounds like both Big J and Eskavon have some positive signs - keeping everything crossed for you both. I loved Nikki's dream interpretation. I had a recuring dream during stims which probably isn't too hard to interpret - I kept dreaming that I was in the pub or wherever with a large glass of wine, and knowing that I shouldn't be drinking it. I guess it was such an effort to give up alochol that my subconscious became obsessed with it!

I distracted myself yesterday and this morning by booking a holiday for the summer. I fear though that I am going to have to find cheaper distractions for the rest of the 2ww!

Oh, and the clinic called to say that 5 of the 7 are doing what they should, and they'll call again tomorrow to say whether I will go in tomorrow or go for a 5 day transfer. I know after transfer I'll wish they were outside so I could know how they were doing, but at the moment I just want them to put them back. I'm terrified that they'll all stop dividing altogether.

Love and PMA to everyone

Hi Girls,

Hope your not going too insane.

This time I'm having no problem sleeping infact I seem to getting a good 7-8 hours a day and when I'm at home a possible hour in the afternoon. I'm back at work now and could do with another sleep about now. Last time I didn't sleep very well but this time I can maybe your more relaxed the secound time round knowing that there is nothing you can do and you just have to let nature take its course.

My accurpuncturist said i should just follow what my body is telling me and that is what I'm doing.

Just taking it easy even at working and lying down instead if sitting etc. But doing some walking bits and pieces around the house and trying not to fret or read too much into every sign.

Lots of PMA and baby dust to everyone.

Love,

Jane

Alison, good luck with your ET.

So far have been taking it very easy - was feeling nauseous the last 2/3 days but that seems to have gone now, apart from that not really feeling anything. I seem more relaxed this time round and not worrying yet about the outcome.

My parents are coming over from Ireland on Thursday to stay so will have to come up with a 'bad back' to explain why I'm not helping my mum to do things (she is partially disabled & needs help getting out of chairs & up & down the stairs).

Hope everyone else is keeping sane.

Hi fellow waitees

Hey Eskavon - Testing buddies heh heh heh    you doin' pee stick or bloods???

Hi Pauline, I've been making ginger tea - just grate ginger and infuse it with boiled water (I have one of metal those tea things that you put tea leaves in), bit of sugar (Ok I know should't have sugar but whar the heck) and yum. Helps the sicky feeling. Yummy when cold too. Don't you dare exert yourself when your parents visit, be really disciplined 8)

Jane you sound really serene - send some Zen vibes over here please!!!

Alison - ah the wine - it was such a nightmare when we were in Barcelona for the ET and I couln't have any of that lovely Riocha  good luck for ET. Well you have 5 doing their stuff, that's super-where they belong asap so understand what you mean   I dare not book anything, as if we get BFN we are going again right away, but as we'd go for 5 days for a fresh sperm ICSI I guess that would be our holiday  try not to worry sweetie, I am sure your embies will be fine. PMA++++++

Just popping in to report that the Rhubarb worked a dream  tummy much better today, thank goodness
Clare,
This is what Zita suggests for sleeplessness (in her book natural pregnancy which is a list of ailments and natural remedies for pre/during pg I can really recommend it)

-Try meditation / regular pauses and breathing exercises
- avoid mental stimulation before going to bed
- regular exercise each day
-larger lunch, smaller supper (she says rest stomach between 7&9pm)
-calcium and magnesium rich foods for nerves
-she does suggest Lavendar oil massage???????? after what Kim said I am not so sure about that anymore?
-burn lemon or mandarin oil to calm the spirit
- also vitamin B6 rich foods should have a tranquilizing effect

therapies I learned during my breakdown that I am starting again:
-I swear by chamomile tea but it makes me feel sick at the moment
-Relaxation following the Jakobsen technique works for me - first contracting then relaxing muscles gradually throughout the body
-if you can't sleep just get up and do something else, have a drink, walk round the garden. Try and feel that going to sleep is your choice not something you have to do.
- rubbing your whole body with a nice mild body lotion (I guess we have to use unscented or something right now???) help to get back in touch with your body. I don't know about you lot but I am feeling quite detached as a kind of protection mechanism at the moment..

SAND - how is your botty   ????????????

right

now for some lunch and I carry on the doggy walking project

Love and kisses

Clare,

It sound like you need to get out and about more, you are probably used to more physicial activity in the day and its contributing to your lack of sleep now. I'm on day 4 of my 2WW. Its the 3rd time I'm doing it the first time I had the 2 weeks off did nothing and was ready for the loony bin by the end of it. The second time I just took a few days off and just didnt do anything strenious and this time I have been down at my mothers for the weekend before getting back into work today. I did go out for 30 min walks from day 2 and actually this time around I have felt the best . It just seems to help you think about something else apart from implantation.

Anyway just some thoughts.

Don't worry Eskavon, maybe I'll do a pee stick with you to keep you company? (the girls will tell meoff for that  )

Agree with Bron, getting out and about and doing stuff has got to be better than going potty

how are you all??? Sher?? Hopeful???.......

Use of essential oils during pregnancy

Post by k »

Hi everyone

Re use of Aromatherapy essential oils during pregnancy. It is even confusing for us qualified aromatherapists depending what books you read on which oils are safe during pregnancy. What I would say is, make sure where you get your essential oil from is a reputable company. (High street stores such as Boots should be ok) This is because sometimes the oil may not be pure or of good quality. The latin name for the oil should be on the bottle. Also, use half the recommended dilution. One author advises avoiding use of essential oils on the skin during pregnancy because of increased sensitivity. She advises massage with plain virgin olive oil and vaporising favourite essential oils into the room (but at much lower doses).
Remember even though you arent absorbing the oil into your skin, you are still inhaling it and this is still getting into your bloodstream.
As far as using Lavender oil, it contains a small amount of a chemical which can be emmenagogic (A term which means assists or induces menstruation) which is why it should be used with caution\or avoided during early pregnancy.
I personally am avoiding using essential oils during the first trimester. Oils that I would be happy to use after this would be citrus oils (Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin and Orange). I would also be happy using Sandalwood, Frankincense, Neroli, petitgrain, Patchouli and Ylang Ylang. I will also consider Lavender later on as an analgesic (back ache!)and to relax.
Some books advise other oils are safe to use, but personally I am more cautious.
Unfortunately, most of the above safe oils are not analgesic, so will not help with aches and pains.
Hope this information helps. I could go into more detail re use during labour etc but ive probably bored you all enough!
