Lisa: yeah, i agree, you should call them tomorrow. i like to call my doctor's office a lot as well to find out about when i can see the doc again and when my next cycle would start. so they probably got tired of me calling and said " give that woman another cycle before xmas, otherwise she won't stop calling". well, i hope that's not what they said, but they did know i was disappointed about waiting till jan. now i am in there for another cycle and getting a little concerned ...

much baby dust to everyone and not long until we all get to go.

Pumma, why are you concerned? I would totally go sooner if they would let me. In fact I am annoyed that I have to be on BCP for so long before the cycle starts.

Lisa, I would call them too. Sometimes the nurses seem to forget how stressful this process can be for us. I actually had to complain to my RE about the nurses during my last cycle. They were not returning my calls and when I was converted to an IUI, they gave me no time/guidance. I will see if they do better with this cycle. Hopefully I am not on a black list now.

I have a question about the stress in general for you ladies. If you have had more than one cycle, do you just take it really easy during stims? or is it life as usual. I start my stims on 12/26 and every year we host my in-laws for new years. There will be 6 of us, plus our dog and 2 cats in a small house for at least 2 days. I am wondering if that may be too much stress to go through while I am a crazy basketcase with the mood swings. Just wanted everybody else’s input if you keep your normal routine while on the stims.

everybody have a great weekend.

oh tali ---- good luck with your visit w/ the inlaws for new years!!! i'm sure you'll be fine.........maybe a little more nerved up than usual --- i forget, is this your FIRST round??? if yes --- i can tell you that my first round, i was more "giddy" than anything.....didn't affect my mood much -- which was what i was trying REALLY hard to make sure happend..... was important to me that my poor hubby and boys weren't on the receiving end of mega-beeeaaatch during this time :? :? and overall, i think it was fine..........BUT - we also didn't tell a SOLE.....nobody in our family knew.....so that would make a difference for me too......do your inlaws know what's going on?? either way......i think you'll be fine...... we all respond VERY differently!!!

I (finally) heard from my RE's office with my plan. They want me to stop BCP on Friday, and then call after I get AF and go in on day 2 or 3 for my baseline tests. She is ordering my meds today. I don't know exactly what all this means, but suddenly I am super nervous! My RE's office makes you join their IVF group, and you have to go to a class which I have tomorrow where they walk you through all the steps and teach you how to do the injections, so hopefully I will know more then. It just feels very real now! I guess this means this could happen before Christmas! Thankfully nothing too stressful is happening this week because I am hosting Thanksgiving and that's bad enough!

Happy Thanksgiving to all (and hopefully we will all have lots to be thankful for very soon)!!

Tali: in terms of the stress while on stimulation medication, i would not be too concerned about that, at least i was never, however, after the transfer and perhaps a couple of days before, i would suggest you take it as easy as possible to keep those little embies in there :) i do think you may be a little bit more sentimental and emotional during this time, again, at least i am, i cry all the time, but that's understandable. i think you'll be fine entertaining your family.

Angie: hey, how are you? getting ready for turkey dinner?

Lisa: congratulations on your date to stop bcp, so exciting. i stopped today. it looks we may be on a similar schedule. look forward to sharing my experiences with you while we go through this.

colesmom: welcome to this board. it is a great help going through ivf, i find it very helpful. i am still not sure about all the abbreviations myself, but there is a list on the general forum that has most of them. do you know yet when you'll be starting your cycle? in terms of the ivf experience, well, there is so much to say, what are your main thoughts or concerns? glad to have you here with us. of course i have to ask, do you already have children, or is cole your soon to be baby's name? hope you don't mind me asking ...

as for me, i'll have my baseline us on wednesday and really hope everything looks good, then i'll start stims on saturday, yeahh!!

happy turkey day!

Pumma, thanks for the warm welcome. Cole is my son, he's 4. My husband and I thought that we would be done with Cole as our only child, so I had a tubal 4 months after delivery. As the years went by, I realized that my decision came to quick as I thoroughly enjoy motherhood and I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mom. It was easy with all the discomfort and stress of having a child to quickly say ONE IS IT! But, I feel having children completes me....Plus, Cole needs a little sister

Colesmom, welcome! I'm new to IVF as well. This will be my first cycle (January). I have felt scared, overwhelmed, and excited at the same time. It's a lot to take in at once; however, being part of this forum has sustained me for the past few weeks. It's a wonderful place to share and learn about the process. I feel like nobody else understand me the way the women in these groups do. I hope you too find this space useful .

Pumma, I'm really excited for you...you're now one step closer :) keep us posted on your progress. I'm sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way.

I can't wait until Wednesday when we get to go to Boston. I am soooo looking forward to visiting with friends and family and disconnecting from school and work for a few days.

Happy turkey day, for those who celebrate thanksgiving.

OH YEAH --- FYI, if you look in the general forum (i think it's general...if not general - then it's the IVF one) - anyway, there is a "sticky" right at very top that has all the acronyms and definitions and stuff in there ---- was SO helpful to me when i was first starting out.... but trust me when i say it won't take you long at all to start SPEAKING "our" language!!! ha, ha, ha!!!

pumma: hey girl!! ready for your TOFURKY????  that word just cracks me up!! will have everything crossed for ya as you go prepare for your baseline scan tomorrow!!  BRING IT ON!

tali --- how are ya girl??? did ya make any decisions on having your in-laws come for new years??? reminds me of program i watch on monday nights "rules of engagement" (is on right after 2 1/2 men --- which i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!) --- anyway, last nights episode was about one of the mom's coming to visit/staying w/ them ----- was pretty funny --- i actually thought of you tali while watching!!! :P :P :P :P

Lisa: YEAH FOR YOU!!!!! getting the show on the road!! TOO cool on stopping your bcp's on friday 8) 8) i know what you mean about suddenly being super nervous.......but try really hard to turn it into super EXCITED!!! :D :D try not to freak out when you get your meds ---- it can be overwhelming  but honestly, you figure it all out and in a hurry!! good luck hosting thanksgiving dinner!!!

Think i got everybody!! And i think we're all from US --- so, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my lady friends out here!! May we all eat too much and drink too much (those of us that are allowed to drink!!) and be happy with good company!!!  CHEERS TO US ALL AND MAY WE ALL GET OUR HOLIDAY MIRACLES

Hi guys,
mind if I join you? -- been reading for a while, but wasn't sure I'd cycle in this time till yesterday when I got the a-okay to begin --
I'm an American living in Germany. Have had 2 IVF tmts, both BFN. One in Dec '06, then changed clinics and tried again in July '07. Now 3 is our magic number! I'm on a long protocol (1st time for that) - so I had a Decapeptyl Depot shot today and begin stims on Dec 1. My estimated ER is Dec. 14 and ET on Dec. 19. Hope to have a couple of embies snuggling in at Christmas. Just thinking about that makes me smile lots! :D :D :D

Wishing everyone a very happy Thanksgiving (I really miss that holiday!) and BFP's for all! Looking forward to getting to know you and having a wonderful support group!

Baby dust to all,
xx Amy

Is this week over yet? why is it that short weeks sometimes take the longest? :)

Hope everyone is doing well and ready for some turkey!

Lisa, Glad you have a protocol. Can't wait to see how you progress along. Sending you lots of positive thoughts

Colesmom - Welcome, Welcome - We are very happy to add you to our little growing group. As everyone has already mentioned, you will find lots of great support here and before you know it you will be an expert on all the lingo.

Pumma - Yay for stopping BCP and starting stims on Sat. Let us know how things go at your baseline tomorrow

Esperanza - I totally agree that we understand each other so well on these boards. It is such a big help to go through this with others who know what you are going through. have a wonderful time in Boston.

Angie - I think I have decided to go ahead with hosting New Years - We have not been able to see my in laws for a while even though they are only 2 hours away. I think it will be fun. I will just try not to stress too much.

Amy - A big welcome to you! Here is to lucky #3.. lots of good wishes and i'll have a bite of turkey for you on Thursday.

This week can't go by quick enough for me. everyone have a great night and holiday!
