Nice picture, that's great to see CT_Michelle.

I had my 2nd visit with my OB. I am 11 weeks and we were able to hear the babies heartbeat!

Next Wed. I go in for the downs u/s.

My OB said things look good and now just eating good and praying for a healthy angel!

Webgirl- That must have been really cool to hear the heartbeat. I can't wait to hear it.

Looks like you are going for the downs test one day before me. Did they tell you how quickly you would know results? Is it something they tell give you an idea of right there, or do they send the info back to ob?

What's the downs test like? Do you guys know? And can you tell me when it's done. I'm at 9 weeks... and have an ultrasound at my ob gyn next week. My first with them... lostgirl

Lostgirl- The downs test is an u/s in which they measure the fold of skin on the back of the baby's neck. It carries no risk to the baby at all. They also take blood from the mommy. Some people opt not to do it b/c it will not chnage the outcome of their pregnancy anyway, but in my case, I would rather know, than not know, and it is another opportunity to see my baby on u/s. My is being done at a local medical center, because my ob's office is not licensed for it yet. It is done between weeks 11 and 13, and is over 80% accurate in detecting downs. Your ob will probably talk to you about it at your appt.

Hi--

My OB told me I would get the results from the downs test a few days after its done and that they're pretty good about getting back to you because they realize all mothers worry about this test and want to get back to the parents ASAP.. He also says they're 90% accurate and to take a deep breathe and not to worry...

How have you all been feeling? My nausea is back, and all I do is eat. I exercise too. Lots of walking but gosh lots of healthy eating too. It's a wonder I haven't gained more weight!

Lostgirl - I have to say, I haven't been feeling great! Very little nausea for me, but hungry a lot and the tiredness I felt for the very first few weeks is back too. Also - terrible mood swings. I'm not sure I can seperate the way I am feeling because of pregnancy and the 'normal' seasonal affective disorder that hits me every year in February. That would account for the appetite (for starch and sweet things) and the tiredness. For anyone that wants to know exactly how much weight I have gained...5 or 6 pounds. That is a ton on someone who is 5'4". Oh well. Hopefully in another month we'll look pregnant and not just fat!

I still feel nauseous too, especially at the second half of the day. I am looking forward the second trimester, hoping that this will be gone. Although, I have read that this quiziness could continue through the whole pregnancy (that thought scared me). I am also tired and sleep a lot.
Today is the last day for my Progesterone gel. I am very excited

I am with all of you guys on the food. If I don't eat every few hours, even something small, then my stomach physically hurts. I am glad I seem to be craving healthy stuff though. I haven't been able to eat to much junk and just the thought of something greasy makes me gag.

MLB- I am also looking forward to looking pregnant instead of just fat. I know I have gained a lot of weight. I have also been sleeping alot. I am on vacation this week and have slept until almost 10 everyday. I don't know how I am going to get used to getting up at 7 again next week.

I finally found some maternity pants, I got 3 pairs, which will hopefully hold me over for a while. The lady at the store said after about 5 1/2 months I might need knew ones because you usually gain a clothing size. I also had to break down and get new bras. I must tell you, I am normally big breasted, but ladies, I have reached an entire new realm! I could not believe the size I needed to get, and the lady at the store said they will still grow...

Webgirl- make sure you let me know about the downs test tomorrow, I am going for mine on thursday.

Hi Ladies---

I went in for my downs U/S today.... It was so cute seeing the little peanut, it was moving around and my husband joked a little saying it was just like me (it couldn't sit still)

It wasn't bad at all... The nurse was really sweet and it took a while for it to show its face because it was moving around like crazy. The only thing they did say was that the second twin I was carrying (which I later lost) is still showing up (an empty sac) and could throw off the test results. If thats the case then they'll do some blood work at 15 weeks and do another test.

thanks for the info webgirl. I go for my test in the morning. I am hoping b/c it is being done at the hospital (yale), the u/s will be really good quality and we will get to see a lot we haven't seen before. Why did they have to wait to see the face? So they could measure the neck? Did they give you an u/s pic today? I will post tomorrow after the test and if they give me a pic, I will post that too.

Anyone suddnely a bit moodier than normal? I find myself snapping at people and being more vocally critical than normal (I hope so, at least). Again - hard to sort out if it is a symptom of pregnancy hormones or the neverending winter or the neverending thesis quest (Have been a university student for 13 years). I know that I should be so happy that I am still pregnant - and I am - but I am also a bit of a witch. Any proven and legal mood altering techniques you can recommend?

Boy do I know what you mean about being crabby. Some days I am just a fireball spewing sarcasm and pissiness. My husband, lucky for me, rather than take it personally things it's kind of hilarious. He said I almost become off-the-chart cartoonish as if I've got steam coming out of my ears if I don't get my way. Anyway, it's true. Sometimes, I'm just grrrrr, and it's really hard not to snap at co-workers. Lucky for me though, my husband has a hard time taking this Jekyll me seriously!!
