Been busy and not able to get online too much lately but glad to see our members grew since I last was on!!! Hows everyone doing? So Liz, you got released from your RE already? I make 9 weeks tomorrow but I dont get released till 11 weeks and I still have to take my 3cc progesterone shots till 12 weeks (ugh!!) Im almost there, cant wait to stop those shots! I have some very light tannish colored discharge from time to time, my RE put me on bedrest at one point for 4 days then it stopped but today it came back but only once during the day.....I guess Ill have to call him again and let him know. I hate feeling like I call them for every little thing but if I dont call, I dont get answers and reassurance. Hope everyone is doing well!!! God Bless us ALL!
Heisable...What about doing the suppository pills? They are much better than the shots in my opinion. I was and still am that they stopped my progesterone to short. How do they know when enough is enough.
I can happily report that I haven't had another clot. Our u/s with "hottie" OBGYN (did I just say that) is Monday 8:30am. I'm sooo ready to get a good report after this weekend.
Angela: Really sorry to hear about one of the twins but glad that the other is doing well. Get lots of rest.
I get to stop the shots and switch to suppositories at 9 weeks thru 12 weeks and then stop completely. Thank goodness. I can't wait.
My appt with my ob went well on sat. She did all the tests and said that it all looked good. I decided not to sign up for the CVS or amnio because of the risk. Instead i will do the non-invasive tests at 12 weeks to test for DS and Trisomy 18. So now i just have to sit still for 4 weeks till my next appt. Going to go crazy and analyze each and every symptom.
Good luck to everyone.

I've been doing the suppositories all along after transfer...they seem so much better than shots! They can get a little messy (sorry, TMI), but definitely better than shots in my opinion!
i actually stopped my suppositories last week and am now only doing the shots; i thought that would be easier. hm ... wonder if i made a mistake. i guess they wanted me to come back if i decided to do the suppositories for another blood draw. oh well, ...
what is everybody deciding in terms of testing for down syndrome, etc.
i am not sure what's best; i had an amnio 5 years ago and that was fine, but now i am not sure with all the different tests.
how is everybodies wait. i go back next week for my 8 week us.
I may call and ask my RE if I can go on suppositories because the shots have become more painful being that I've been on them for 2+ months. My butt hurts so much now, there is no place to give the shot that doesnt hurt and sometimes blood just spurts out after the shot. I am 9w4d right now and due to stop progesterone at 12w anyways so maybe I can do suppositories till then. I will do non invasive tests also but will not be doing an amnio. I cant wait till I get to my second trimester....my RE said at that point my miscarriage rate drops dramatically and maybe then I'll feel like going back to work full time (only work 1-2 days a week right now....every time I work I get brownish discharge). Hope everyone is doing well!!
My Re is switching me to suppositories at around 10 weeks and then i stop those at 12 weeks. Heisable, really sorry about the discharge. Just take it easy. I had a scare on monday..started spotting and had bad pelvic cramps. My ob was great. She immediately scheduled a pelvic sonnogram for me and i got to see my healthy baby (who was upside down) Lol! But they said everything looked good, including the heart rate and could not see where the spotting is coming from. Who knows what causes it. I heard that suppositories, intercourse, ultrasounds could cause irritation that leads to spotting.
I also decided to to the non-invasive tests. I do those at around 12 weeks. do not want to take a chance with amnio.
Just a little update... Saw and heard the heartbeat again on Tuesday at my u/s. Such a cool thing! Going back again next Tuesday.
Went to see my regular OB yesterday for my first PG visit. Just met with the nurse, but it went very well. Waiting now to hear if I have to be on a blood thining injection during the pregnancy. I am heterzygos (sp?) for Factor 5 Leiden...which increases my chance of blood clots. Hope to hear from the office this week. Part of me hates the idea of more injections, but yet the other part of me almost just wants to be on them as a precautionary measure. Going back to the OB for my first DR visit on December 3.
Still no real morning sickness, but definitely feel off today, more exhausted than normal. Was hungrier than normal too this morning and thought I might be sick if I didn't eat something right away.
Hoping to have just a nice quiet weekend to relax and sleep!
ajdec, i have been on heparin since the transfer. i don't really have a clotting problem, but the doc said that if i want to i could do it and it may increase my chances. so here i am, taking two shots of heparin every day. my belly is pretty bruised, but if it help, i'll get through it.
i really have food aversion; can't really find anything i really like, so i have probably lost a few pounds over the past four weeks. other than that i also don't have any real signs, except for being pretty tired.
I too have been on heparin since my ET with twice daily shots. My stomach is very, very bruised but I too am willing to go through it for a healthy baby (applying ice really helps also because the heparin really irritates the tissues, so it burns). My morning sickness goes and comes but overall it hasn't been too bad. But, I too have been exhausted but the bad thing is I can't not sleep. I just can't get comfortable...
I will not have my third u/s until next Friday and I am on pins and needles until then.
Found out today from the Dr that I don't have to be on the Lovenox. On one had I'm happy...no shots. On the other hand, makes me a little more worried about possible blood clots. But, going to trust my DR!
Hey everyone,
Had my u/s on Tues am. with my OBGYN. Everything looked great and the heart beats were strong. I really think my clot came from my Fertil doc doing a long u/s before he released us. No more spotting or clotting. We decided against the amnio or the CVS. I believe that God put DS babies in this world for a reason and if that should be his choice then we will raise with lots of love. So, I decided it's time to start getting my ever expanding bootie outside for some exercising. Emi (golden) and I trotted 3 miles. As you all probably can attest, It's been awhile since I've been in the exercise mode. Therefore, I was in bed by 8pm and couldn't move my legs. However, now I'm totally motivated. Feels good.
ALSO...If you haven't read "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy, you have to read. It's hilarious. She also has "Baby Laughs" when you're finished with the first.
P.S. How do I add the ticker thing (baby countdown) to my profile???

Heisable - Lovenox for me would have been to try to reduce my risk of blood clots. I have an inherited blood disorder that makes my blood more likely to clot. Thus I haven't been able to be on birth control pills for years, since those increase your risk. There are two "versions" of my disorder and I have the lesser of the two and have no personal history of any blood clots...thus no need to be on the injection according to my OB.
Okay...question for you guys. I've mentioned this in previous posts...but are you guys hungry, like all the time? I'm constantly hungry...and if I get a little too hungry, I start to feel sick. So I feel like I am always eating! I'm freaking out about gaining 50 pounds. If you all are experiencing this, how are you dealing with it?! Thanks for any tips!
