Yippee, Awesome, Best News!!!! I am absolutely over the moon for you! That is such a wonderful day when you get to see that flicker on the ultrasound... especially after so many years of struggling for that ultimate goal! I am sure you feel that life couldn't get any more perfect right now!

I promise you that the next 7.5 months will fly by. The first 6 weeks are tortuously slow but it definitely speeds up!

So, what is your due date? I want to mark it on my calendar and follow you to the big day so that I can celebrate with you. This is such a wonderful time for you and DH. We too were starting to believe that we'd never be parents so the day of the ultrasound where you get to see that heartbeat (or heartbeats in my case) is unbelievably special... and it only gets more special!

A special hug for your sister as she helped make this possible - what a special woman she is! You sure are lucky to have her and your little one will be so lucky to have her as an aunt!

Carolyn,

Shantala told me of your news so I just had to pop in.

Massive congratulations to you and your husband and as Rachel said, it is one of the most amazing endings ever - having been through so much, I think it is wonderful that this is getting the 'happy ever after' ending.

Your sister is one amazing lady.

I'm so so pleased for you both - again congratulations and keep us updated.

love Nims xx

Just wanted to pop by and thank you all for your kind words and answer some of the questions.

Yasmina - next scan is this Friday. Trying not to stress too much about it but sure the nerves/stress will build over the week. Scan will be at 8 weeks and 3 days. Think that we will be released to regular care if all is well - YIKES

Em - yes we will find out the sex but think that is quite a few weeks away. Much to look forward too. Hope that you are enjoying your new little girl :D

Laura - no pics I am afraid. Rather old scanning equipment and they don't do pictures. Keep trying to recall everything that I did see. Hopefully there will be pics at one of the later scans?

Kel - I did the due date calculator on this site and another site. Based on Day 3 transfer and the dates then both came up with 23rd June as the due date. That is our Mum's birthday. How cool would that be!!!! She has been a great support for me and my sister. She will be over the moon. Not told her yet about the date as don't want to get too carried away

Beckster - love your post. You are a star. As always. Hope all going well for you. Spy that it is only 8 days now to your EC. Sending you lots of baby dust hun

Momtobetobe - happy to help as others have helped me

Angie, Jen, Rachel, Loopie, Jayne - thank you all for your kind words

Nims - so sweet of you to pop by. So hope that you are enjoying being a new mum to Eva

Time went faster last week as very busy bee. Sure it will slow down this week as we head towards the second scan. Sister been a bit headache/sick. Feel bad that she is unwell but pleased that she has symptoms and hope it is down to all the hormones. Mixed feelings. Feeling rather detached as gone from seeing my sister every couple of days and going to the clinic and not seeing her for more than two weeks. All rather strange. Now on count down to scan on Friday. Then we have agreed that she will have care at Birmingham Woman's as just a few minutes drive from where she lives. First appointment and scan there will be 2nd December.

So hope that all will be well on Friday and my little bean will be clinging on and growing nicely.

Have a good week ladies and I shall update you after Friday.

Lots of Love
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

So great that everything is going well.

We didn't find out the sex with the twins (boys) but did with Addison and I found that I had already bonded with Addy when she was born as I could visualise her as my daughter and I would picture us having coffee in this cafe or shopping for clothes together in that shop when she was older. Not finding out the sex with the boys, while it made it exciting, I had trouble thinking of them as my children as they were "just" embryo's and then "just foetus's". The second I knew Addy was a girl, she was "my Daughter".

God, i still get goosebumps when I read through this thread! I am so, so happy for you!

Thank you ladies for all the support.

I am so dam relieved. All is well. We could see our little bean. Heart beating away. Could make out head and the rest of the body. They said the size was right and it looked like other pics I have seen at 8 weeks on the net.

Took some photos on my mobile. Not great but just keep looking at them in amazement. Think it is starting to get real for me and my dh - finally.

My sister is doing so well. She seems so relaxed about it all. Think I am stressing more than enough for both of us

So one more scan at ARGC in two weeks time. At 10 weeks and 3 days. Then just 4 days and an 11 week scan at Birmingham Womans and then a nuchal scan privately at 12 weeks. Like buses. None and then three at once. If I can get through the next couple of weeks then we should get to quite a reassuring period. Cannot wait until we get through the 1st trimester and can start to really relax and enjoy.

Have a great weekend all. Thanks for all your cheering on - much appreciated.

Lots of Love
Carolyn xxxxxxxx
