Hello all... I'm sorry for the delayed response. My FET was actaully today, 4/13/09. Everything went well. We transferred one 6-day blast, which was our goal all along. Our embie survived the thaw with 90% of the cells intact. The embryologist was very pleased so hopefully all will go well. I am now in the dreaded 2ww so I'm trying to find ways to keep my mind off of everything. Hopefully the next 9 days will pass quickly. My beta is on 4/22. Will have to fight the urge to POAS too soon. Talk to you all soon.

Baylorbear, I wish you the very BEST of luck. I've only been through it once, but the 2ww seemed like a year.

I was also too smug. I felt sure it would be a positive.

I have a little over two weeks to go until my transfer, so in a sort of way I'm waiting along with you!

It's official. BFN.

I'm already anxious for the doc to call so I can get my next plan rolling. I have a few things in mind that I'd like to change...one, not be on that extra week or two of Lupron to manipulate the cycle, and I'd like to go back to the PIO shots. I still have 5 embies, so hopefully one of those will become a (near) future baby! I had to take one for the team because the odds were way too good on this board!! :D Congrats to all of you who got BFPs. And remember, don't be too sad for me, because I do have my 2 year old Jack who's a great (1st) IVF miracle baby!

I am sorry to hear of your BFN. Keep your head up, we are here for you :)

I had my FET on 4/7 and my Beta is on 4/16. I had two 6day blast transferred. One was graded a 1.5, the other one was graded a 2 (1 being the best) The one graded a 1.5 looked to me like it was starting to hatch (in the pic they gave me), but they didnt mention anything about it and I didnt realize it until I had already left the clinic. This is my 4th round of IVF so I am doing all that I can to stay positive. I am just scared of getting the phone call that it is another BFN.

Sarah I was thinking about you all day today. So sorry it didn't take. You are very lucky you have 5 frosties left. After this FET I don't think I will have any left if it doesn't work. I have 6 frosties that they are thawing, 2 already hatched and 3 that they will hatch on transfer day. They will transfer the 2 best and I don't think they will be refreezing any we don't use, as this would be the third time they would be frozen, but i guess we will see. I will ask on thursday when I go for my US. I am so nervous it won't work. I don't have the time I dedicated to myself the last time. I was able to go for acupuncture 3 times a week and relax, and this time I am far from stressfree and NO time for acupuncture.
I am really curious about how you use Lupron for an FET? I know with my retrieval cycle I was on a special Lupron reg. Instead of HCG shot, my RE used a Lupron trigger the day before ER because of my history of OHSS. I did not use any lupron for this FET cycle.
Good luck on Thursday kollegeqtee! Think baby dust and DON'T take a HPT :)

Thank you for the well wishes.

I wish I could answer your question about the Lupron, but I have never taken that. I would just run it by them when you go in on Thursday and let them explain it. I am also sending lots of baby dust your way. 6 frosties sounds like a good number to me :) Let us know how your ultrasound turns out on Thursday

Sounds like I'll get to stay with you guys! I talked to my RE this afternoon, and he said I'll be able to go right ahead with another cycle as soon as my period arrives. That puts me with another FET right around Memorial Day!!!

FET Success Stories...need hope!

Post by My143 »

Hi ladies i am new to this whole message board thing. But my story is.

Me (28) blocked tube
Dh (28) low volume

We have been trying naturally for 2 years. Just finished ivf #1 fresh cycle. We put 1 (5) day blast in and froze 2. Went for Beta just yesterday and it was BFN. I feel so empty, hurt and devastated. Dr said embryo of that quality usually implants, he does not know why it didnt. Made me feel even worse about myself. I already feel broken as it is. Trying to stay strong but i feel so hopeless. Gonna take a month off and then go in for a FET. I am so nervous, i dont know if i can handle the hurt again. Anyone have any luck with FET? Success stories sure would help me now.

My143- I am sorry your fresh cycle did not take. I understand your feeling of emptiness, and thoughts you or dream of being a mother never coming to reality. FET cycles DO work. We have several people in this forum that it worked for including me. After 3 failed attempts with VERY poor quality eggs due to my PCOS (the RE said things like your RE said "I don't know why, it should have taken" and put me through TONS of test that all come back normal), I switched to a new RE and did an IVF cycle with NO transfer. 1 month later I had my FET transfer and got my BFP. My RE now is the most amazing guy, he is like everyone's best friend and he instantly how to tweak to get good quality eggs. At first I thought this guy is full of himself but I was willing to give it a shot and in my first cycle with him they got 35 eggs. 26 mature. AND i didn't get OHSS which happened to me on one cycle with 9 eggs previously.
Keep the hope honey.
Me, US#2 today. increase Estrace and transfer in 2 weeks. Yoohoo!

Kim,

Doesn't the money stuff suck so bad?? That's the hardest part for me. I could take my BFN on Tuesday...I just wish I could have seen the $4K for the FET go down the toilet personally! Watching four thousand one dollar bills would have been more fun to flush!!!

I hope that you'll be able to figure something out so you can start again soon. For us...credit card. We paid cash for the last one, but I can't wait...I don't want to wait...so credit, here we come!

I'm happy to have more newbies here on the thread. I felt I was the only one.

As the FET gets closer I feel more nervous and more excited. I have less than four days before I start the estradiol and then I have to start heparin shots, two in the stomach, every day.

To My143, I'm so sorry! I did my first ivf (fresh) using a donor egg last December. I was way too sure it would work. I wasn't even aware of how long it would take to try again. I was just devastated.

I had told SO many people and everyone was upset. I'm trying to keep it more quiet this time around.

I just wanted to say that I've been there and that we just need to keep trying! The forums can be very helpful.

Well results from my FET came back.....and it was a BFN. This is the 4th try (3rd FET). I requested to have a follow up/consultation with my RE to see what we can do different and talk with him about my concerns. Appt not scheduled yet, but will have it within the next several weeks. I will be doing another FET in about June or July.

I am sending loads of babydust to all those in thier 2WW :)
