So guys by 5am this morning I was calling the doctor on call. I wasn't able to sleep the whole night. I kept moaning and crying. By 12 RE's nurse called to come ASAP for bw and u/s. Ultrasound showed ovaries very enlarged and some fluid but not much. RE says since I have never made so many eggs this is just a way my body is dealing with it. RE told me to relax a couple of more days and that it should get better in the next few days. I am just going to stay put and take it easy. I am definitely going to let Dh spoil me a bit. BTW not all 20 eggs where mature which leaves us right now with 8 embies growing. I am scheduled for tomorrow at 12:20 but if all goes well I will be pushed to Friday!

Hi Rosario,

I know this doesn't even compare to doing a full cycle like you did (and all the meds), but when I took a double dose of Clomid for 5 days for the Clomid challenge test, a few days later I had many similar symptoms: bloating, pain, feeling huge, discomfort, etc. It sort of came and went, and then DH and I had sex in a last attempt to conceive naturally and I thought I would DIE when it was over! SO much cramping, pain, discomfort, etc. Called nurse and had ultrasound and BW next day (they were worried about twisted ovaries and/or OHSS). Ultrasound showed that I definitely responed well to the Clomid (enlarged ovaries, fluid, follicles/cysts, etc.) but nothing was wrong (no twisted ovaries, no OHSS, etc.). The discomfort started on day 15 of my cycle, hit the worst on day 18, and by day 22 I felt almost normal again. So, as long as everything is ok with you, you should feel better in a few days. Drink lots of water and take it easy. Also, I have to believe that some of your discomfort is from the ER itself, so you are dealing with 2 things at once. Hope you feel better soon!! I know it feels terrible but hang in there and think positive thoughts for those little embies cooking away!

May/June IVF cycle

Post by alexis »

Hello there! My name is Alexis. I am new to this message board, but am excited to talk with other people going through the same process. I still need to learn all of the abbreviations everybody is using here. I am in my first cycle of IVF and my egg retrieval is tomorrow. So far, the injections have been ok. The first few days I was crampy, bleeding and bloated, but after that settled, I've been feeling pretty good. Any insight into how the retrieval will go? I wonder if it is very painful afterwards or not. Does your clinic/center require you to lay down for 2 hours after? I have so many little questions. I hope to hear from you soon,
Alexis

Hello to everyone, hope you are doing great?
Welcome Alexis, hope that you will find a lot of questions in our board. I’m on my first IVF and still did not came to the point of ER so I can not help you with your question, but I know that there are a lot of good ladies here that can help you
Eve2860 -good luck in 2WW and I pray for big BFP for you

I have a question to all your ladies that already finished with stims with success. I had my u/c yesterday (after 6 days on Menopur& Lupron) but my dr. was not happy with situation. :( I have few follicles in both sides measure 13-14mm. Now I will continue another 4 days and have another u/c and blood test in Monday to see if he will give the trigger.
Can you please tell me how long have you been on stims, how good your reacted after 6 days , since I’m really worried and upset that I will not react good and my cycle will be canceled

Sorry I have been MIA... I will make just a brief update and hopefully later go on to go into details about my transfer. I am proud to say I am officially PUPO. We transferred 3 beautiful blasts with one hatching and another starting to. I took an HPT yesterday afternoon which still was positive. I will test again Monday just to make sure trigger is gone... I am a POAS queen. Beta is scheduled for June 8th which will make me 15dpo

Hi everyone,

Glad to join in. We had our ER on 5/17 with ET on 5/22 We transferred 2 blastocytes that we were told "are beautiful" The first beta was drawn yesterday and the second was supposed to be drawn tomorrow but they changed it to Sunday! We couldn't wait any longer so we checked the HPT today and it gave us a BFP!!!! I know not to get my hopes up yet but it is 14 days post trigger so the meds should be out of my system by now! Lets hope.

Hi Ladies!

I just wanted to update everyone, and wish everyone luck! It seems like we are all in different stages of the process! Today I had my second bloodwork/us during Bravelle. I have lots of folllicles on both side, but I they are growing a little slow. I go back in Monday to see when my ER will be. More than likely, I am looking at Tuesday or Wednesday. I am getting a little nervous! My eggs are measuring between 12-15, so I am close. I will let you know what they say on Monday! Good luck to those in 2ww, and FFZ, you seem to be right around where I am! Good luck, again, and keep posting! It is so exciting to see where you all are in this process!

acornmom - CONGRATS! I am very happy for you! Keep the info coming regarding your 1st visit.

Hi all. I am new to this site. I started my IVF cycle last week (last month if you count BCP weeks). I am on a microflare Lupron protocol due to my age (42) where I have been injecting 10 units of lupron twice a day since last Wednesday and 225 of Follistim twice a day since Friday. I got my E2 level checked yesterday morning at it's 510, so the nurse told me to decrease my Follistim to 150 at night and 175 in the morning and I go for an u/s tomorrow morning. I pray that they see lots of good follies growing!

Good luck to all!

Hi all

Have decided to join the group after reading on the sidelines for a while. This is my first IVF after a few failed cycles of Clomid and 5 failed IUI's. I am 31, my hubby 49 and we've been trying for 4 years now. Had endo which was cleared up last year through surgery.

I am currently taking Lucrin (similar to Lupron I think), Gonal F and by tomorrow I start with my antibiotics, Cyclogest and a whole host of other meds to prep for the aspiration (egg removal) on Friday, 05 June 2009. My scans show that there are more than ten follicles developing nicely.

Currently the superdoses of Gonal F are making me sore and crampy but its worth it.

Right now I am thoroughly scared. I hoped that it wouldn't come to IVF for my hubby and I but here we are!

Hi all!

Sounds like everyone is doing well (minus a few cramps, bloats, and aches). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

FFZ- Good luck with the continues stims, I wish I could answer more of your questions but I am new to this (first IVF cycle) and am only just beginning everything (bcps start tomorrow). Hopefully some of the other "more experiences" ladies here will be able to help you!

Eve2860- Any news yet? Have you broken down and done a hpt yet? I know it's still early but I don't think I'd be able to contain myself! let us know the news and here's sending TONS of baby dust your way.

alexis- By now I think you've had your ER....how did it go? How are you feeling? Please keep up posted on things and glad to see you here!

lauren526- How are those follies doing? grow, grow, grow, grow, grow......

acornmom- CONGRATS!!!! I can say that you are officially the first person here I've congratulated for having a BFP! I'm very happy for you, it must be so exciting. Keep us posted on everything!

rsdrisco- Hi, it;s so nice to have another over-40 person here! I, too, am 42 and just getting ready to start my first ever IVF cycle. My DH and I have only tried naturally, but given my age and his sperm issues, the doc recommended IVF with ICSI right off the bat so as not to waste anymore time. I will also be doing a micro flare protocol but as I still haven;t started yet, I'm not sure as to all of the meds exactly........I'll look forward to following your progress so we can go through this together! Welcome!

hopeful009- This is also my first IVF, so we can learn from eachother. Good news on your follies! Like you, my DH and I never really thought we would do IVF but now here we are and we're excited to try. The thought of not trying was unacceptable so we are getting more and more hopeful and excited--I bet you are too. Keep us posted!

AFM, I am now a member of the "I love AF" camp. Started yesterday which means that as of tomorrow, I officially start my bcps and then in a few weeks the hoards of other meds that I have yet to become totally clear on (will be talking to nurse today and asking LOTS of questions now that it's officially time to start!). I will be keeping you all posted of course and probably asking tons of questions, so get ready!

POSITIVE THOUGHTS TO EVERYONE!! :D
