Hi Ladies

I thought I would join your thread as I am hoping to have my frosties transferred sometime this week - fingers crossed!
Trying to do it on my natural cycle, so not too sure it'll go ahead but hoping for the best.
I really sympathise with you ladies. Also had 2 m/cs after 2 IVF attempts. It's just awful going through it.
Anyway am off to my clinic tomorrow morning to see if things look good for a potential transfer.
How is it that some of us have to go through all this torment and others just breeze through conception and pregnancy??!

Lots of happy vibes to you all!
Take care xxx

starwishes -

I know. It's super unfair. Another woman in my office got married in May and is due in March already. I know someone else who also got pregnant the first month they were trying. It's really not fair.

I walk down the street and see so many people with babies in strollers. I'm amazed. It's so hard for me to understand that people just get pregnant and have babies. I'm so disconnected from that. We've been TTC for 3 years now and still have no children in our lives. We've had 2 losses and 2 failed cycles.

Good luck with your FET this week.

hi ladies.. i hope it's ok if i join in. i'm doing a FET towards the end of october. i'm from south west coast canada.. our first IVF cycle was cancelled due to my poor response, i was devastated. they upped my protocal to maximum 'flare' for my 2nd IVF and i only got 2 eggs- they suggested cancelling and moving to donor eggs, but i couldn't do it.. went through with a full cycle and i got PG, which was a frigging miracle.. but then had a miscarriage at 12 weeks. too awful for words. so i did a 3rd cycle- still didn't respond great ( i took DHEA 2 months prior, so i did better than before), but i got PG and now have an amazing 1 yr old boy.. so we only have 2 frosties, but for us- that's an amazing number,

so that's me and we're going to transfer both in later this month. i'm very nervous as if it doesn't work, i know i'll want to try a fresh cycle and not give up.. but i'm 38 yrs old now, and we don't have medical coverage for this in canada at all..so it's very hard both emotionally and financially. i just can't give up yet on my dream of 'family'.

i feel kinda awkward joining in given that i'm already blessed with a child..i was very active on these boards through all my previous cycles and didn't get why there was the odd woman on the forums who already had a child..but now i get it. struggles with fertility are brutal and some days i can hardly believe i have a child and other days it seems like infertility is long-forgotten. i used to be so bitter.. and like you said leorira-it is so unfair.. i am so blessed now and my little boy is amazing.. i'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a little brother or sister to join him.. the last year has been so great i just want to do it again..

sorry for the long winded post. i look forward to following everyone's updates and best of luck to you all- may a higher power bring a miracle your way. karen

Hello ladies

Karen - what a heartwarming story you have. After all your heartache, you now have a lovely little boy. It fills me with hope. I think infertility is painful, whatever stage you are at. So I wish you all the best for your FET.

I am going for another scan tomorrow and hoping to have the transfer on the following Monday. The dr wants to follow my natural cycle and try not to use any drugs which would be wonderful. So just staying positive and hoping for the best.

hope you're doing okay too leorira- hang in there! I can't tell you how many pregnant women I see on a daily basis- they are everywhere!

Xx :)

Hello ladies!

hi gi! Of course I remember you! I am so delighted to hear you have a little girl on the way. That's just fantastic news! I am glad they figured out why you had those m/cs. I don't know if you remember, but you advised me to get myself checked out after my m/cs which I did, but they didn't find anything. So I think it was bad luck for me. I will hopefully be having my 2 frosties transferred on Monday, if all goes well with the thawing. So fingers crossed.
I hope you're feeling well and not too tired. I will keep up to date with how you're doing- but best of luck with everything. Your story really does fill me with hope!
And yes, I am the one with family in Galway- am back and forth there quite a lot these days- I do love it there, but don't think I can persuade my DH to move over there! Take care gi xxx

Kynlee- well done for getting through your transfer. Best of luck for the 2ww. Sending you lots of positive baby vibes. xx

Lots of happy angelic baby thoughts to you all xxx

I feel like I'm cheating on you guys! Since we discovered that I was having complications post D&C and we needed to push off our FET, I've been chatting with the ladies over in November! (and I was the one who started this October thread)

We are still really hoping to get our FET by the end of October, but it's not looking so good. I stopped my BCP and started bleeding again today - passing some huge clots - which hopefully will mean that the 'retained tissue' from my missed miscarriage/D&C.

If this is my period - and if my uterus empties out and my hCG drops to zero - we can start the FET cycle. FINGERS CROSSED!

Karen- you are so lucky to have that little boy - but that doesn't mean that the IVF is easier for you. I have a friend (IRL :D ) who is just starting FETs again, to try to have a little sibling for the son she concieved on her first IVF. It's really hard. People tend to marginlize the pain of someone dealing with infertility to concieve a second or third child, but while you are lucky to have one, most people don't have to do this kindof thing to grow their family. Yes, many of us here are waiting for our first (or in my case, our first 'take-home'), but TTC a second or third through IVF is just as frustrating and difficult.

Something that bothers me is that our infertility will really limit when we have our kids and how many we have. It's not just about concieiving the first - but also every subsequent child we want. DH wanted to have a big family, but the IVF means we never will....

HI Ladies,

I had a FET cycle in September and it unfortunately failed.
I have a BFP from my first IVF, and had a beautiful baby boy in Nov 09.
I have 2 more frosties left, one excellent and one v.good.
RE said I had about 15-20% of a BFP with this cycle and told me I could start as soon as I have my period.
So here I am!
I am really stressed going into this knowing the odds are against me.
These are 39 yr old embies and I will turn 41 next month. So if this fails, chances with a fresh IVF are so so as well.
I am so grateful to have been blessed with a miracle already. I am just praying to give him a companion to grow up with.
I wish all of you the best of luck!

hi all! welcome nancy.. it's so nice to hear another success story :)

leorira- i hope everything gets going for you and you can start your FET soon. it must feel like torture having to 'wait some more'.. and kynlee- how's that 2ww going? when is your PG test? and starwishes is your transfer tomorrow?

so i got my period and started estrogen pills today. i'm quite nervous. i'm taking it as a positive sign that it's happening on thanksgiving (here in canada) and that it's also happening at almost the exact same timeline as when i stimmed for my son nathan <3 ...according to the tentative time line (dependent on u/s still), i may transfer the exact same day i transferred my son in (october 30) this all makes me feel positive.. BUT at the same time, i'm also freaked about it not working, as these are our only embryos, and to do a fresh cycle at age 38 really scares me. my periods are getting closer together which my RE pointed out to me are a sign of my DOR (dimished ovarian reserve). when i think about this i feel quite sad.

oh well!! i'm off for a turkey dinner, i feel much gratitude today for the beautiful baby boy i have, that he slept last night (lol), and that i have this chance to try again for a child.. happy day to you all!
