Hi everyone

Thanks for your message July Ann, I remember us posting last year when I was thinking of changing to Bourn cos the nurses at our clinic were being horrible! Well the really harsh one has left but the one i saw today is stepping into her shoes I think!!!! Am feeling a bit better now though but have already decided that if this go doesn't work I probably won't go back there although perhaps if we're paying they might be nicer to me?!
I was sorry to read that your last cycle was a negative, when are you going again? Good luck for when you do xxx

Kat
I'm so sorry to read your post, you must be really p****d off. I'm only on my first go so I can only imagine how disapointed you must be but your being very brave and realistic and like you say it's better to quit now and go again next month and give yourself a better chance.
Hope you have a fab holiday with lots of sun, sea & sex!!! You lucky girl!!!
(Never thought I would be gagging for it but I am)!!!

Jackie

Am also sorry to hear that your scan wasn't straight forward but it's good news thaat you can start injecting now. I do hope our babies will appreciate what we've gone through to get them!!
I found the counsellor really helped me although I didn't really agree with a lot of what she said, it helped to vent some frustration on someone!
Hope your next scan goes well

Lots of love to you all

Hi All JCB's

Just thought I would pop in to see how you are all doing!

Kat - I am so sorry that you have had to postpone, that is such a shame, but I so hope that you feel better after a little break and get on to the band wagon again. We will be here to support you when you do.

How is everyone doing with the injections? Jackie - I will soon be on 2 injections a day as well! My period started on Saturday - apparently all to plan, but I had forgtten about that bit! So, I have had a blood test today, posted that off to Care and hopefully we will be starting to inject Menopur as well tomorrow - eeek. I have been really showy offy about being brave and doing injections myself - well one - and now poor dh is going to have to do 2. OMG, I have never had menopur before, so I hope it works and that it doesn't hurt too much. At first the burserilin didn't hurt at all, but now I can feel it a little bit when it goes in.

You guys are all so brave doing your own all the time. I have only just wokred myself up to taking the plaster off from my blood test this morning! :)

Dawn - now how are you honey, hope you are feeling ok and not thinking about the ec too much. Please don't worry tool much, it will all be over before you know it and then you'll all be sorted - remind me of this won't you when I have my ec date!

Hi Loopy and welcome to you again, fingers crossed for a + for you this time.

Hi Nicky - how are things with you? I am on 0.5 of burserelin as well, don't seem to be having any side effects at all as yet - bit of tummy pain but aprt from that ok.

Well, must go, got loads to do and posting on this board doesn't earn me any money at all! But it is so nice to talk to you all.

Much love
Helen.

Hi Guys

How are we all doing??!!

Sorry, I have been a bit crap about posting, been feeling a bit sorry for myself!!

Went yesterday for a scan and the good news is there are 18 follicles and they are hoping to do EC next Thursday 22nd. Bad news is that DH had another sperm test after 4 months of Vit E , selenium , no drinking etc and there is still no sperm there, so he has to have his biospy TESE/PESE thing on the Wednesday and there is only a 50/50 chance of finding anything....but we do have our donor backup and fingers crossed that something will go our way, it will be nice just to know once and for all whether we will have our own child or not and if not then we can go forward knowing what we have to deal with.

Right - finished feeling sorry for myself, there are hurdles in life and one must deal with them!!!

Is anyone else next week??

Keep positive

Poor you what a position to be in , I suppose 50 % is good , I will light a candel for you next wednesday night for your DH and hopefully it will be luck for you , good thing to have donor back up as you can still go through with Treatment . I suppose you have both prepared yourselves for this option . I had donor egg in November and I thought that it would feel strange but it didnt at all , once the embryo is replaced you dont give it a second thought. well I didnt anyway , cause it will still be both of your baby and you will love it just the same ! I will be thinking of you as a week can really drag and all we want to know is the answere. if one thing this site has taught me is to be patient which I certainly was not!!!

Hi All

Kat- I am so sorry you had to abandon this go but think you have made the right decision, get that holiday and when you get back we will have to meet up for that coffee. My shoulder was a result of lifting the vacum cleaner down stairs ( good excuse to never do it again!). It is a lot better and I have managed to lay off the pain killers.
Dawn V- Glad you are getting on ok with the jabs, cant remember what the nurses were like when I went to that clinic but the last thing you need is a snotty one! Dont let it get to you though. The staff where I go now are really friendly and jolly which does help relax you.
Well my Af arrives last Thurs, so had my scan on Fri and all is ok, back this Fri then should start to use ovulation kit, I guess ET will be around 24/25 Jan. This all seems too easy to me! Am having a natural FET so no drugs at all. Dont really feel like anything is happening!?I think the point I start to worry at will be when they get the embies out the deep freeze, as I had 5 taken out from my 1st cycle and none survived. Would just like to get the chance this time!
Hope everyone else is doing ok, and hey! law of averages means some of us will get pregnant this time!

Hi everyone

Helen, how are you? Working hard??!!!
Have you started your second jab yet? If not when do you start?
I had another scan today and things are moving slowly but surely in the right direction. Looks like ec will be next weds or fri now so will be injecting over the weekend. The lady that does the scans seems to think that when i did the clomid cycles my womb lining never got very thick and that could be why i haven't got pg but today it was really good so hopefully it'll stay that way.
Had a choc lab puppy in work today and thought of Bliss! She'd come for the training classes and was so cute!!

Hi Jen
Bloody hell 18 follies!! Do you feel bloated?! I've got 13 and already my stomach feels like it's stretching!
I should be on the 2ww with you. Are you going back to work after et or having some time off?

Kat, Gem, Nicky, Jackie, Loupy (and anyone else I've missed)!
Hope your all ok?

Hope the law of averages is wrong and we all get positives!

Hi Dawn (& everybody)

Thanks for asking after me it is really nice knowing people care.

I had my blood pressure check today and it is still high. I have had my blood pressure taken at least once a month for the past 3 years (requested by fertility clinic). It had looked like it was settling down (still high but not raising) I have been on drugs since 2000.

So I'm off to see my GP on Friday to try and get it sorted out. The clinic said I need to get it under control so I'm hoping they change meds or something.

My husband has gone to see Jasper Carrot live with his brother tonight so I am on my own. I was originally going but I didn't fancy doing 2 injections while I am out so decided to stay home, have a bath and read a book. I think it will be good for him to have a break from it all and hopefully he will chat with his brother and get any frustration out of his system. He's the kind who doesn't show any kind of emotion, just gets on with things.

Hope you are taking things easy while everything is cooking. Thirteen follicles is a good amount. Good luck next week.

Hope everybody else is ok and on schedule

Hi Dawn/Everyone

Dawn - yes, I feel really bloated, last night (admittedly after a curry!!) I felt like I was going to explode!!

I am back tomorrow for a scan and I just can wait for EC.......I am also having a slight panic about Hyerstimulation........just don't want anything to go wrong and apart from anything else, I am turing into a hypochondriac because of all this!!

Looks like our EC will be around the same time and things sound like they are moving along nicely for you....I'll be thinking of you....I am dreading feeling any pain. Im not under general and I am so crap with anything being done on me!!

Good luck to all

JenFx

Lets just all keep thinking positive

Hi Everyone

Gosh - there are lots of us now aren't there!

Well, it's official - got home last night and instead of a chocolate labrador we had a white chocolate labrador! Yep, the painters are doing loads at the moment (have that nesting instinct already!) and Bliss managed to get "Tallow" all over her tail - she wags it loads and somehow all over her whiskers! It did give me a laugh though! It's her birthday today and I have bought her a cake! Don't worry. it's just an excuse for me to have some, might give her a tiny slither!

Well onto baby stuff - Wow Jen 18 follies that's great news, well done. Hope that all goes well with DH - fingers crossed

Hi Dawn - how are you honey, yep I'm working hard, was delivering training all day MOnday, meetings Tuesday and today, but managed to get home today and take Bliss for a nice long walk. Back in the office now, but going to head home ssson as it was snowing when I left - oh the joys of living in a rural place! How are you doing. Got all crosssed for your ecf and et. Now you have to stop worrying about the ec - I know you will be fine - you as well Jen, just think that it will all be over really qucikly and keep remembering what you will have at the end of it!

Jackie - how is your blood pressure, hope it is moving in the right direction - down and not up.

Gem - how are you doing and Loopy and Squew?

Well, better fill you in on my news. We started menopur last night - loads of mixing, but only a tiny sting after it all went in. So, now on 1 injection of burserilin and i of menopur, porr dh doesn't know if he is coming or going! Need to have a blood test tomorrow and keep it in the fridge over the weekend - yuk and then need to go to Care on Monday to have another blood test and I guess maybe a scan to see how I am doing?

I feel quite chilled and relaxed about it all and not trying to think too muhc about ec and et. I also spoke to an accunpunturist today whom Care use and have booked in to see her on Thursday as I am thinking about having it before and after ET. In the meantime I am going to continue with reflexology.

Hope you are all ok, try and saty positive - I have a new way of keeping my spirits up - eat cocnut mushrooms - yummy, I've just eaten about 5 on the trot and feel slightly sick now.

Better go, work calls, love to all

Helen.

Hi all again

Please ignore my terrible spelling on my last post, was so excited that I pressed submit before I read it to check for any mistakes - why isn't there a spell check facility - or is there one and I don't know about it???

See, mad as ever!

Hi Buddies
Well I've some big news
Went for scans and bloods today and I'm ready for ec on Sat
Thought it would be Tuesday I had my goddaughters party to go to on sat its a swimming party and I was going to be the lifeguard but some one else as stepped in thankgod,Dh only stopped drinking Tuesday but its all sytems go with us,The only think is that because I've been feeling under the weather and dh as been working lots of hours is that we havent had sex for nearly 2 weeks we thought we had time before tues but because the clinic recommends to stop having sex 2-5 days before ec so we think it will be better not to have sex cos we might risk his sample not being good enough if we do soz for tmi but I would like to know what your views are please are we right in not having sex before ec,dh thinks we are.
We have to do our late night injection at 11.30pm and poor dh as been working since 5am til 6pm so it will be hard for him bless him.
I'm getting nervous about ec as last time I cried and made a right fool of my self but I'm going to try and suck harder on the gas and air.

Sorry havent been able to catch up with everyones news but will try later ,need to go and wrap goddaughters presents up.

Hi, just catching up with what's going on with my ex-cycle buddies....

Gem I would say if you haven't had sex for 2 weeks and DH hasn't had a w@nk (sorry but had to be said!) then would do it tonight and clear him out of any old sperm and then it will be nice and fresh for Saturday for EC. You could help him along if he's really tired... doesn't have to be full sex - can't believe I wrote that - sorry if that's really graphic!! Don't know what the others think but my clinic told me one time that if it came to it we should have sex on the Weds night if EC was on Fri. Having said that I don't know what your DH's sperm levels are usually like, my DH is sometimes quite low and they still advised that.

From the internet -
"the percentage of normal sperm and the percentage of motile sperm decrease with infrequent ejaculation. Overall it appears that ejaculation 3-4 times per week will ensure the optimum number of 'nice looking' motile sperm"
and another one -
"if you are trying to get pregnant you may want to abstain from ejaculating for a couple of days before a woman's most fertile time"

Hope this helps
Lots of love

Thanks Kat for your advise,When I woke dh up to tell him what you had said he said he'd already thought that so he when he nipped home in the morning he did the dead  ,so hopefully we should be ok.

Getting really nervous about the ec,I can put up with the discomfort its getting no eggs I'm worried about.

I'm off work all next week and Mon and Tues the week after so if et is Mon or Tues I will have had a full week off work. Its only the 1st week back at work.

Hope everyone as a good weekend
I'l let you know how many eggs I get tomorrow
