Hi Jen

I'm trying to remember now what they said .... They said that the short/Flare protocol was dependent on FSH levels, whereas with the Cetrotide protocol it wasn't as dependent.

Don't know why, other than with the Cetrotide there is no downregging whatsoever. The body continues to produce FSH and LH as normal (whereas with downregging this is stopped). Lost me at that point .. !

Hey sandImage

that's good to know that the certrotide cycle isn't AS dependant on FSH. I just hope that when AF comes my FSH is within reasonable bounds and okay to start stimming... should be Sunday 23rd...

Why are you waiting until dec/ jan? is that the hospital's choice?

Anyway here is hoping for fireworks
Image for us both...

Hi Jen

We've decided to wait until probably Jan as I want us both to be in tip top condition. We're now on a 3 month regime - excellent diet, healthier lifestyle, df's given up smoking, no alcohol etc etc ... As it take 100 days for spermies to develop, we've set the 3 month target. Hope that kinda makes sense ..!

Hi everyone
I have just had another hormone test and my FSH is still too high to start another cycle. This was the 6th month in a row, I have now decided to take a break for a while as my endo is really bad now. At the begining of the year I had no pain now I have daily pain and I can't take it any more.
I wish you all the very best luck in the world and hope that if I do come back in 6 months you will all be pregnant.
Thanks to everyone for their support over this year.

Sand- sounds a real special pre-preg plan to me!!! Good luck.
DF and I are also off the booze. we are doing a 7 day liver de-tox ( again) just to clear out the system. We were both really good on hols though, had a healthy fruit and veg diet, ate a lot of fish and had only a little wine.
It's good to be thorough like you and DH are. happy healthy eating.

ellie- sweetie I am sorry to hear your FSH levels are still high. Are you getting tmt for your endo? I had laser tmt 7 yrs ago and have been lucky no major problems since. are you on meds for it?
Hope having a break will sort out the endo and give yourself some time to get strength back. then your next bloods results are bound to be good.

A BIG Hi to everyone else.

i've just read all these posts and i'm starting to get really freaked out. my docs never mentioned anything to me about my fsh level being too high at 10. i specifically asked two different docs if my test results (fsh and others) were good and they both replied yes! now that i think of it, i also had a visit with the head specialist at another clinic and he never mentioned it either. i feel like someone has just slapped me in the face.

hi Rach

It's okay...10 is fine.............above 15 then start to worry. Some clinics do the fsh differantly, but most are below 15. You are fine at 10......... honest. Your doc said everything is okay cos it is.

Read Zita west's book it helps...

Take care

Hello all

Post by JFESTEN »

I wanted to post here as I just found that I might need to abandon this cycle as I am not responding to this protocal.
My estrogen is only at 82 but I was told it should be between 1000-2000. Is this because of my FSH? I was 9.6 to slight over 10 at different testing.
My dr. said it was borderline ovarian reserve but not out of the question.

I will find out Monday if I have to abandon if I don't continue responding. I doubt I will since I got a way to go.
They mentioned I will have to wait till next cycle...how long does that take as this is my first time.
Also he mentioned a treatment called I think microdose lucrose flare? I am not sure if spelling right or if I understand it.
Anyone know about it or how to spell so I can look up online.

WOuld love some feedback as it appears that many might understand my confusion.

Also what is this about Zita West?

Jfesten,

Microdose Lupron is the drug I take every cycle (in addition to a couple others). To be honest, I don't know exactly which role it plays, but I take it longer than the other drugs and twice daily as opposed to the others that are only one time daily. What I can tell you is that it doesn't give me any issues really. A little hot flash at night time, but that's about it.

My fsh is 15.

You can find out more on the Web.
Best of luck.

Normal hormone levels but poor responder

Post by JM »

Hi

Has anyone been in the same boat as me in having normal LH, FSH and progesterone levels but not responded to drugs?

First IUI - down reg and stims only produced 2 follicles (neg result)

1st ICSI - cetrotide cycle (and doubling stims med) - looked to be 15 follies on scan but when it came to egg collection only 2 eggs retrieved (kind of shocked everyone) These eggs they said were good quality and they both fertilised and went on to be Grade 1 embryos but sadly preg test was negative.

I'm not sure where to go from here? My body doesn't respond well to hormones - I have mild endometriosis & partner borderline sperm count.

Anyone else in this boat?
