hi jen

what drugs were you on? i've been taking 225 of gonal f for just 2 days now and there's only one follie. my doc has upped it to 300 but said it probably wont do anything. don't you think it's too early to say that? how long did you stim for before ER?
she even mentioned doing unmedicated cycles in the future because it's the second time having only one follie which i'd have naturally anyway.

is there still hope that some will grow?

how are you keeping?

i was on a short protocol as described in last post....I took full dose gonal 350 for 13 days stimming before ER. I had 5 follies grow, 2 too big, and 1 too small, 2 just right with grade 1 eggs and embies. have you done a short /flare protocol? It's for poor responders.

i hope the increase in gonal will help grow follies...keep in touch and good luck with the next scan

Anna how's you today?

Hi Jen, all OK today, feeling very positive and excited about christmas.
This feeling is rubbing off when thoughts turn to IVF and so am getting excited about the short cycle too. PMA at an all time high for some reason!!! Long may it continue

Dizzie, how are you?

Rachel, hope those follies grow and your scan is good news. It is really frustrating not knowing what is going on in there isn't it? I stimmed for about 13 days, on an increased dose for the last 5, but nothing happened. The down reg was just too strong!!! Let's hope the short cycle is better for me. Are you on a short protocol?

Still absolutely no sign of AF for me , but is as expected!
Bye for now

Hi Anna,

Thanks for your concern, I'm still here. Have been really busy and am trying not to think of babies. I have posted on another couple of threads today, as I fear I'm going to get a BFN on Friday (test Thursday, but it has to be posted to hospital). I have no symptoms at all, but as I've been reading, I promise to keep away from the 'evil pee sticks'.

So how are you? Looking forward to next cycle I see. The next one is going to be the one, just wait and see. If this one doesn't work for us, we'll go for FET in the new year. We have one frostie only, but hey, one is good enough for us.

Take care and speak soon.

anna, jen
yes i am doing the short protocol and the good news is that my follies are growing. one is coming along nicely and the other 3 are small but improving. i only have one ovary so even if i got only 2 eggs i'd be estatic!! then there's the small matter of creating embies but we won't go there, one step at a time.

well done on the shopping anna. enjoy being a lady of leisure over the christmas. let's hope that in all the christmas rush AF makes an appearance in the next few days.

dizzie, i'm sure it's very common to fear the worst before testing but try and keep a PMA. you can do it girl, sending you loads of baby dust.

take care

Hi Everyone,

Dizzie, good luck good luck good luck, keeping everything crossed, and thanks for your consoling comments to me.

Anna, well done for being so positive, and good luck with the progesterone, hope it works.

Everyone on 2ww, all the best of luck

It's hard going on this path, but I've chosen to do it! And there are a lot of people out there in the world who would think I was the luckiest person alive, so I'm being grateful and cherishing what I have (today, anyway).
Self-pity, begone!

Hi ladies, hope all had a lovely relaxing xmas
Rachel, thinking of you. How are those follies? EC must be soon?
Could I ask you about the short cycle? I know the protocol for the long one like the back of my hand. ie when scans are etc...Could you outline the short one for me? I know that stims are started on day 3. ....then what? When do you go for scans etc .. after that? Is there any down regging at all?

I will be going to ask the nurse all about this when AF finally arrives but any advise or info would be gratefully recieved.

Finish progesterone tabs tonight, watch this space for the appearance of AF...yawn, yawn....

Dizzie hope you are OK and still smiling

To other lovely ladies, a very happy new year. Here's to a bumper crop of BFP's in 2006

hi anna

i started stimms on day 3 but my clinic said you could do it even on day 4. i stimmed for 10 days on gonal f and on the 5th day i started on cetrotide which stops you from ovulating. i continued for another 2 days on cetrotide after i stopped stimming and on the 12th day i also did 2 injections of gonasi which is the final booster to mature your eggs. the night before EC i didn't inject anything, just did the preparation for EC.

i had scans every 2nd day whereas on the long protocol i went every 4th day.

i found the short protocol so much better. no bad headaches although i did feel a lot more tired but it's so much shorter that psychologically it's a great boost. and the most important part, my follies, saw a great improvement. i went from 1 follie on the long protocol to 6 on the short and they got 5 good eggs yesterday so it really does work. in italy you can't freeze embies so for us 5 is great.

one bit of advice though, if, at your first scan there isn't a marked improvement on last time round ask them to up the dose immediately. that's what i did and i'm so glad as only 1 was growing by the first scan and once they upped the drugs again (from 225 to 300) i really started to see results. the doc i saw on that particular occasion wasnt convinced about upping the drugs as she thought it wouldn't have any effect but she was obviously very wrong.

i hope AF gets the progesterone message and makes an appearance really soon. she really is quite rude to keep you waiting so long!!

hello to everyone else. hope you're all enjoying the festive period, relaxing and pampering yourselves :D :D :D
