Hi guys,

Congrats on your thumb sucker Charlie!

I had my 20 week scan this week also. Absolutely amazing. It was incredibly reasurring to see the baby and know that everyhting is ticking along as it should. i almost feel confident enough to buy something! It will more than likely be something boring like nappies as all my mates have gear lined up for me by the tonne - everything from carseats and babybaths to a fantastic loan of a Silver Cross! Lucky me! For those who don't know a silver cross is an old fashioned pram that you used to see nannies pushing in the parks.

We have a photo of the babies profile and from everything i have been told this is very similar to what it will look like when born - so beautiful.

Hi All --

How's everyone? All must be well, as it is very quiet around here. I had "a little" scare last week, as the babe decided not to move for about 2 days. Normally I get about 40-50 kicks per day... then NOTHING. A little freaky to say the least. They checked the heartbeat and did an US and all was well, but even the nurse couldn't get a big reaction out of the babe when we watched it on US. But, all is back to normal now and the kid is taking full advantage of being able to kick mommy.

I did break out in this WONDERFUL rash all over my legs. The doctor called it PUPP. You can google this. In short, it is an itchy, hivey, rash that is basically an allergic reaction to the pregancy. It is the most itchy, irritating thing I've every had. Only about 0.5% of women get this, and it is usually during the 3rd tri, and on the belly. It doesn't go away until after the babe is delivered. Oh yippee! Oh well, wouldn't trade this pregnancy for anything, so who cares!

Hope the rest of you are doing great. What stuff are you all buying? Any name picked out?

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is well.

Julie, I am sorry to hear you had a scare, but glad to hear all is well. I think us ivf girlies pick up on far more the the ordinary pregnancies, due to the struggles we have to get here.
Did your doctor say if your PUPP was due to stress or is it just a normal part of pregnancy. The only reason I ask is that I often break out in a really itchy rash on my legs or in my hair if I get over-stressed.
If you have had the worry of your bubs not moving for a couple of days, is it possible this brought it on. Are you allowed to put anything on it? You poor thing.

Charlie & Richard, hope you are all well. If anyone else is feeling like me, they wont have the energy to type lol . Is anyone else sleeping for at least ten hours a night (solid). I wake in the morning feeling fab but by about 3pm, I am exhausted. I go to bed at around 7.30pm. How embaressing.

Saraid, Haven't spoken since your holiday. Was it lovely?
How's your bump coming along?

I am going to a wedding in a couple of weeks. Haven't decided which colour tent to wear yet!!!

As far as names go, we have so far (but things may change) for a boy -

I think we will have to see them first before really really decide.

Hi girlies, Hope all your bumps are bouncing.
Julie, we also had a scare at the weekend, keiran, our little miracle, played the same game yours did and only moved twice in two days, so off we went to hospital on sunday, but all is fine and as soon as we walked out the hospital he started doing his micheal Flatley impresion, so all is well.
Well we have decided on Keiran Micheal Cameron Arnold as we know it is a boy an we love the name Keiran, Micheal after DH's late farther, and Cameron is my original scottish surname.
Has anyone booked Antenatal classes yet? as when i was 19 weeks i called the NCT thinking i was too early to be signing up, but thought i would enquire, was told i was too late to be put on to an october babys course and would have to pay for an november babys course, which finishes just days before my due date, so anyway my point is if you havent booked yet book now to get a place before your due date.

Good to hear from you all.

Julie How is your rash honey? Sounds like a right misery to me. i can't stand being itchy so would be my worst nightmare. I am glad that everything else is fine and the little one back moving about as normal. I have only just started to feel definite movement and am amazed at how uncomfortable it can be. Last night the minnow decided to do an entire dance routine! Most bizarre sensation ever.

Chelle Glad to hear all well. I love a good wedding but the outfit finding is such a stress with a bump. Is it a formal day with hat et all? Great fun dressing up if it is. You are very efficient having a short list for names. I am yet to even buy a name book - very slack. I think i am so focused on finishing work and hten i will think about baby stuff.
I agree with the needing lots of sleep - 8-10 hours or i feel like i have a hangover - very unfair considering no booze! Are you getting black under the eyes as well? I am wondering if it could be a lack of iron, any thoughts?

Charlie A real mover inside there hey. I am pleased everything was ok after your visit to hospital - maybe he just needed a rest Thanks for the NCt tip. I e-mailed them but need to return their call so hope i am not too late for a September course - with the baby boom around here i might be - yikes!

Well best get my ass out of bed as i need to try and beautify myself for Ascot today. Pleased i have a hat held on with a comb this year as the wind is going to cause some havoc - especially as there will be some mad creations on Ladies Day. Fingers crossed for some winners as i am going again tomorrow with my niece - first year she is able to go as they have an age restriction for the enclosure. She is so excited! Will be a cheaper year then normal as no champagne - boo

ive been feeling charlies belly all night all sorts of kicks n pokes n prods coming from in there
i have so far given him his first maths lesson english lesson and of course his first french lesson
me thinks he will be a genius that or a footballer
lol or maybe the first genius footballer
theres 2 words you wouldnt expect to find together
we hav so far 95% finished room brought half the european baby cloth mountain bought his pushchair and numerous other things just really gotta get cot and dresser and we pretty much done

Hi All

A genious footballer, now there is a thought. Feels like the world cup is in my belly too Richard.

You are very organised to nearly have your nursery finished. I am no way close to be finished. We bought one white cotbed from Toys R Us and was trying to complete our nursery set but they have never got any of the other matching items in stock ie changing unit etc (also extremely expensive). As we have to buy 2 cotbeds, we have gone to argos and bought a matching set (much cheaper). Only problem is, the are pine so we now have to paint them white. Look at me waffling on.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying their pregnancy as much as I am.

wow that amazing we got most of our stuff from toys r us
we have gone for the i love my bear range for the room
got the wallpaper curtains all the cot stuff bedding etc teddys mobile
its so cute now we got it all together
plus we got some of the baby bear cothing from there we gotta snow suit thing thats gotta hat with ears and on the feet its got brown bear paw prints i mean how cute is that???

I got the "Dotty Farm" set of bedding as I wasn't sure of the sexes at the time of buying. Due to us having one of each, I think I have made the right decision. Also, we live on a Dairy farm, in one of the cottages so we thought Dotty Farm would be appropriate.
I was just really dissapointed with their level of service buying furniture from the internet. Their loss I suppose.
I know the snow suit you mean and you are right, it is very very cute.
How exciting to think in a few months, we will be making great use of it all.

yea i wholeheartedly agree with about service at toysrus
it wasn't good
a few times we went there was only ever 1 poor girl trying to advise like a million expectant parent about cots and pushchairs and stuff like that she was rushed of her feet
lol bet she hates kids
but we just fell in love with the i love my bear stuff
they didnt sell all of it in store some bits are only on online store and we had to wait for weeks and weeks for the framed pictures to come into stock
wow you live on a farm wot a great place to bring up children you and you babies are very lucky
we live very nr to central london theres no cows or sheep around here
the nearest we get to farmyard animals are rats
bet you have miles and miles of countryside to walk too
so hows things going with the the twins must be tough in this weather
are you huge yet???
charlie seems really big already she has been swollen since the start though cos of ohss
and how lucky are you!!!!

How is things with you?

I measured my waist last Monday and it was a whopping 44 inches. I measured it again this morning and it was 45 inches. OMG if its an inch a week and I am only coming up to 26 weeks, how big am I going to be if I reach 36 weeks. I also started to notice this morning that I am getting a few stretch marks eeek!!! I knew I wouldn't be able to hide from them but it's still a shock when you notice them. How's your tum?

We am going to buy our pushchair this coming weekend. It's a shame they don't do a travel system for twins (well there is one but I don't like the look of it) so we are going for the Combi WE2 and separate Carry type Car Seats. We have finally got the nursery furniture sorted. You know I mentioned that we had bought a set from Argos, well the cotbed is awfully naff. The wardrobe and changing unit is lovely but we have decided to sell the cotbed and buy another cot bed from dreaded Babies R Us, to match the one we have already got.

Where abouts do you live. have you had alot of hot weather lately and how have you been coping??

Saraid and Julie - How are you both keeping. How are the bumps coming along.

Is there any other October Girlies out there. I know I'd love to hear from you.
