It's so lovely reading everyones news! I am concerned about the maternity wear as so little fits now, and wondering what I'll wear to work in later stages!! I am in a smock dress (not materntiy) that is 2 sizes too big. DH laughs at it as exagerates my bump so I cant leave the house in it but it is so comfortable!!!!!!

I had a scan (13 weeks) this week and they were so perfect. Thank God. We feel so blessed and on walking on air.

They are lying (in their own sacs) one above the other. Bunk beds!!! THis surprised me as I'd imagined them next to eachother. I dont know why!

Is that the normal way???

Love to all

Lumi xxxx

ps I was feeling very sick all day (throwing up about 3 or 4 times a day) but it is easing. Feeling much better in day and only been sick at night. Hang in there if you are feeling bad. I did find keeping busy helped. When I was at work and talking to others it wasnt so bad as when my mind wandered to nausea and smells and food....yuk!!! DH cant believe i have actaully started COOKING again!!

Lumi, so glad to hear another happy person with twins! Congrats on your 13 week scan. My sickness went away at about week 13-14. Hopefully it does for you too.

I don't know much about sacs on top of each other vs side by side. Mine are side by side (23 weeks tomorrow) and have been all along, I believe. I can now clearly feel Baby A kicking me on my left side and Baby B kicking on my right side. It's such a neat feeling!

Yeah, I'm wearing my size M maternity clothes now as much as I can, knowing that most are not fitting me now and some will only last a few more weeks. I started buying L's now. And like Denise said...she went up to an XL (from a M).

Are you going to find out the sex's of the babies or keep it a surprise?

Lumi, congrats on good scan news. My babes have been in "bunk beds" for most of my pregnancy, and still are. Its actually whats giving me the chance to do a vaginal birth, because one is head down and engaged, and the other is in a position favorable to move down after(her head is right at the other's butt!!)

Good luck hiding your bump for now, because Kristi is not lying to you. Lol, I'm down to about 4 outfits now, and refuse to buy more for just a short time.

Hi everyone

Gald to hear eveyone is doing well.
I have started to measure my bump weekly and it's growing at a rate of 1inch per week. Today I am 46inches eeek!!!!
If I go another 10 weeks and carry on at that rate, that will be another 10 inches OMG

By the way, I have started to get a few stretch marks (I think I mentioned it in a previous post... they look like ladder's in tights, maybe a blob of nail varnish at the top of each one would do the trick???) and have started using Bio-oil.... It's amazing stuff. They have nearly faded and not grown in two weeks. Worth a try eh!!

Have nearly finished the nursery but am surprised that even though we have bought loads of stuff, we still need a load more. Car seats, more blankets, sleeping bags, baby monitor (can anyone recommend a good one?), night light, the list goes on and on.

My twins are side by side, girl on the left, boy on the right. They seem to be awake at the same time which is nice. I often wonder whether they are aware of the other one. It's weird to imagine.

Love to all

Chelle, I'v been measuring my bump each week since the beginning of the pregnancy. I keep a chart in my journal...thought it would be fun to track. I started out 30 inches and now at 23 weeks I've 42 inches. I also track my weight like like that too.

How fun that you got your nursery nearly finished. I've bought all my bedding & accessories. Furniture next and then I'll put it all together. I'm on a mission to get everything done early in case of bed rest or preemies, etc. ok, and I'm just excited to do it too!

Good tip on the Biol-oil. I've never heard of that. I've been using Palmer's stretch mark cream since week 12...morning & night.

Hope you are all doing good!!!

hi all

Thanks for for messages!!

demise. so pleased that the 'bunk beds' seem to be normal!!! DH says we must put them in bunks the opposite way around when theyare big boys/girls/boygirl......just to be fair!!!

Ahat, sounds like you have whoppers!! Fantastic.

Kristi, we def. want to know the sex. Before ivf, i would have said 'no, never'. But now, it seems so silly to wait when we have waited years anyhow!!
What do others think? When can you tell? I have a scan at 15ish weeks (too early??) and then again at 23 weeks. Just incase they cant tell at either scan, I have found a private clinic that does gender scans nearby. I want to know that much!!!!!!!!!!! My mother is DYING to know!!

Chelle, I am looking forward to the stretch marks!! I already had a bigger waist than most of you as I am already 42''.I think its increased by about 7'' so far but my weight has only gone up 4lbs. I think most of that is on my chest!!! What is bio oil? When did you start to buy 'big' stuff like cots?

Lots of love to all

Lumi, 15 & 23 weeks scans....one is too early and one is late. :) I had one at 16 weeks and they said it was too early. Then I had one at 19.5 weeks and found out I was having boys. I've heard that occassionally they can tell around 16 weeks, but definately 20 weeks is the big scan where they should be able to tell. So you'll have to wait until 23 weeks and it sounds like you'll be anxious!

I'm like you...not sure when to buy cots (same as cribs & bedroom furnitue, right?). I'm thinking about buying it in 2 weeks...which will be when I'm about 26 weeks.

I'm in a lot of pain...my right side/lower back. I've had it for about 2 months, but now it's constant. It's making it hard to function, so I feel like I need to finish up the baby buying & setting up the nursery, etc.

Denise should be getting close...about 36 weeks I think!!!!

I'm getting anxious, actually. I have to go to the hospital twice a week now for non-stress tests for the babies, and blood pressure monitoring for me. Seems like such a hassle, but I'm doing it for them. I never thought I'd make it this far... and I'm ready to be done now.

Hope you all are well!

Hi All

Glad everyone is feeling well and sorry to hear you are feeling anxious Denise. I am sure I will be too nearer the time.
I also cannot believe I have got this far, and you should be very very proud of yourself.
Won't be long now and your precious bubs will be in your arms. I can't wait for you!!!

Lumi, Bio-oil is an oil that you get from the chemist and is specially for scars and stretchmarks.
I make it sound like I am really worring and vain about this but I'm not. It's just when you try so hard to keep them at bay,THEN they appear, it's a little disheartening. I know having the babes will be worth every single one.
I started buying big stuff quite early actually. I think we bought the first cotbed just after my 12week scan.
After having my ectopic, I had really good feelings about this pregnancy and thought, what the hell... I'm going for it.
Some may say its still early but I have just bought my twin pushchair too. I am being very positive as its about time my luck changed.

KristiA - sorry to hear you have back ache. Painfull eh! I have been having Reflexology every fortnight and I think this has helped my back. I am a firm believer of it. I had a six week course just before my IVF treatment started and I truely believe this is wh y I fell first attempt.
My back has been ok but my ankle and feet are swelling like monsters. Not painfull but uncomfortable.

I have got a scan booked for Monday 31st July which I am looking forward too. Anyone got a scan coming up?

Nice to hear from you all.

Hi all

It's so exciting when scans are approaching! I dont have one for a couple of weeks but I did see my FANTASTIC consultant for the first time today and heard the heartbeats. Wow!!! I am a happy bunny   . My next scan is in a couple of weeks.

Denise, easily said but dont worry. How far is the hospital for you?

Kristi and Chelle, I agree there is alot to be said about sorting things early. I think I
dont feel like it yet beacuse we have just moved house and having new kitchen/bathroom/decorating going on inthe next month.
I am nesting big time and the nest isnt quite ready for the baby stuff!!!I hope you can find a way to ease the pain, krisiti. Chocolate?!?

take care ladies

Lumi, did you just give me permission to eat chocolate? I've been so good staying away from chocolate and most sugar/candy! Hey, I'll give it a try! :)

28 week scan for me on Aug 24. I can't wait to see them again!

Chelle, reflexology sounds interesting. I'll check into it. I'm willing to try anything. My pain is when I sit. So I've stood almost all day today at work (I have a desk/computer job). My swollen ankles aren't pleased with me, but it's helped to releive some of the pain in my side.

Denise, are they going to let you carry the babies as long as you can? Or do they have a time where they will induce labor if you haven't had them yet?

Have a great weekend all!

Hey guys. I spent the night last night in the Birthing Center. No babies yet, but they are talking about inducing for next week! Yeah! Babies are still doing great. My BP is starting to creep up there, and yesterday I had a splitting headache and was vomitting. Fun stuff.

Anyways, when you all have your nurseries together, post some picks, I'd love to see what you guys have picked out.

And on a serious note, please keep my Sis in law in your prayers. She found out today that she lost one of her twins, the heart stopped beating.

Hugs.

Hi everyone,
well......im 9 weeks with twins, and i no it is a little early to be thinking about the birth, i have to admit im very anxious about the whole thing. ive been thinking about it alot lately cause my two friends have just both given birth this week, and they have said" IF I WAS YOU ID HAVE THE CESERIN" Dont worry i no they sound like they are frightning the life out of me, but they just want whats best for me. i would prefer a normal birth but i am not a brave soldier and im scared i would have nothing left to give for number 2. its awful thinking about it. they have to come out one way or another. i probably, and have been told it will be a ceserian im quite small 5f .The only thing that bothers me about a ceserian is that i wont able to care for my babies properly afterwards.
Has any one had a ceserian before, and maybe tell us ladies what to expect and how long it takes to recover. I no im worrying too early, im sure we all do.
It is very exiting expecting twins, im sure you will all agree. i was in shock at first. but now im over the moon and cant wait to meet my babies.
its unbelievable, i went to see my friends in hospital, there little babies were next to them in their little cots. i couldnt help think to myself with a big smile on my face. im getting two of them :D

Congratulations Everyone
