Yes we were also told no sex until after the u/s.

Jo--you burst my little bubble--i was hoping that our clinic was just being over cautious. Darn--well i guess it is no sex until after the US. I know that sounds so selfish but for some reason i just feel lonely and distant from dh. Don't get me wrong he has been great during this whole cycle and we are elated to be pg i think i just miss the intimacy---we haven't had that since the start of my cycle a little over 2 months ago--between breakthrough bleeding on bcp and then just feeling like crap on the stims sex was no were in the picture. I hope this doesn't make me sound ike a horrible person as i am not (most days anyway LOL) KWIM. Bridget

Hi everyone!!

My doc want us to go with PIO shots until 10 weeks. I am using (25g 1 1/2 inch needle). It hurts but better than 22g 1 1/2 inch.

DioneT2002: use "Img" button at start and end of the image url. It should work.
Also I have been experiencing little bit upset stomach in last couples of night
Not sure If it is a commona in these days.

What a great place to be right now! Such postitive ladies! Congrats on all the new ones joining with BFP! YEAH! It feels really good to be on this side

Thanks for the list...keeps me updated. If ditziness comes with pregnancy than that is me for the past couple of weeks. I forget everything.

My doc said no sex until our last ultrasound, but that was because I was spotting/bleeding.

I am on the progesterone for 3 more weeks....so until I am 11 weeks! My booty is getting real sore, but it is all worth it.

I promised my DH that we could spread the good news about the babies after Monday. One of my collegues really made me feel good. During a faculty meeting on Tues, she stood up and pulled out 2 baby rattlers....and said......someones having 2 new ones! Everyone knew we had done IVF before, but we kept this time a secret! She handed them to me with flowers.....the entire room clapped...and many cried. It felt so good to finally let people in on our great news. It was so great to see how excited everyone was.

Now it seems like everyone looks at me different.....there is always a smile....or how are you feeling today....do you need anything?

I am so blessed to have such supportive co-workers! (friends and family) Outside of a little morning sickness...I have been great! I was told to drink lots of water throughout the day....(qt per baby) so that is what i am doing!

Hi everyone, hi Anna,

My first U/S was 6th Sept at 6.5 weeks and my next U/S is booked in for 24th October 13.5 weeks. There are no further doctor's appointment in between. I haven't been assigned a midwife and the hospital said that until the second scan the midwife wouldn't want to see me anyway, and in the meantime if theres a problem to see the GP or go to Emergency. The IVF clinic is completely hands off with me now. Is this standard? Does this sound enough care to you girls?

Hi ladies! Can I join???? Had my blood test today and OMG a BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My beta is 106. I thought that was low but the nurse said they look for anything over 50 is a good +. I'm sure I'll have spoke to some of you on previous threads. Are you all still in shock? How long does it take to come back down to earth? Speak soon all you mummies to be!! Paula x

Rittie, my schedule sounds pretty similar to yours. Had 1st u/s at 6 weeks then next one is booked for 13 weeks. I wasn't assigned a midwife until last week when I went to my drs to get some more progesterone meds. So I was registered with the hospital and m/w by my GP not the IVF clinic. This is Ok as my clinic is in Barcelona and it would be a bit difficult to do it from there!!! I don't know what the protocol is with a UK clinic. Maybe a trip to the Drs would put your mind at rest?
I won't being seeing the m/w until 26th Oct. I do feel alone, I find it strange that after all the bloods, monitoring and scans during IVF that they just leave you alone as soon as you get pg. I asked my Dr should I have my prog and oestrog levels checked but she said no...as long as you are not bleeding or have sharp pains that's it!! Good job we've got each other at this time. I'm sure everything will be fine for you.

Welcome Paula, many congratulations on your BFP! Your story made me smile. Mine was very similar. A neg HPT and then a + Beta. I still haven't come down to earth from the shock!! My beta was only 97 but here I am 11weeks 3days later. Your numbers are fine. If you let me know when your u/s is I will add it to the list. Enjoy the next 9 months!!

Hi Ladies, thanks for all the well wishes! I am back and have one strong and healthy baby. The doc said everything looked great. I didn't get to listen to the heart yet but he said it looked like it was in the 150s or 160s. For those of you around the same time as me, they told me the baby is the size of a strawberry right now.

Rittie, I think you are ok since you are still under the care of your clinic doc. Do you have to be assigned a midwife or can you call and get one yourself? I had my first appointment this morning at my ob-gyn office and they just had me meet with the nurse and the financial coordinator. I go back next Wed. for my first physical exam. 13 weeks does seem a bit late to me. Let us know what happens.

Well, my little strawberry and I need a nap before I have to go out of town this afternoon. Thanks again for all of the support ladies !

I have been absent for a few days as I traveled from the US to Brazil to see DH (he is Brazilian and living here while I do some training in the US for work before I return to Brazil to live the beginning of December). It is great to see him as we have been apart for about 6 weeks and we went for my second ultrasound yesterday (the first was two weeks before that exactly). The baby measured 18mm, which is 1 day ahead of schedule and I was able to hear the heartbeat - it was so cool! It was like I was in a Dolby movie theatre or something as he turned to volume up really loud. The heartbeat was 182, which seems a bit fast to me. He said everything was fine, but of course I had to find something to worry about! Does anyone know anything about rapid heartrates? It seemed to be going so fast and furiously in the little chest that I worried! I have another US next week (9/27) back at the clinic in the US.
I told quite a few people after I saw the heartbeat the first time two weeks ago - DH is telling people now as it probably seems real to him now that he saw the ultrasound. Haven´t said anything at work yet as I am starting a new position in December - maybe I will tell them the end of the first trimester?

CONGRATULATIONS! We were on the other thread together going through the process and I am thrilled to see that you crossed over with a BFP. WHOO HOO!
Lucyluna, I'm sure you were tickled pink (or blue ) to see that heartbeat on the screen. Isn't it SO cool? I have a 10 year old but she was conceived naturally so I never saw an ultrasound of her until 16 weeks when she was a complete baby. With these two, my two u/s were 1.5 weeks apart. It's amazing how quickly they grow!
I'm glad to see so many of us on this board in the same time frame.
By the way, the only time my DR said 'no sex' was during the 2ww. Otherwise, I have been free to do whatever (although I am always exhausted and rarely want to). All the clinics are so different with their advice. I'm very jealous of Lucyluna who got to stop the PIO right after her BFP!
