JG: Hope your surgery went well! :D

I can't believe our babies are almost here! It seems like it took forvever to get pregnant and now the weeks are going by too fast! :D

I've noticed an increase in braxton-hicks lately . . . I wonder if that means my little girl will come early . . .
only time will tell :D

Hello Everyone,

I want to appolgize for not checking in all this time. Thank you all so much for your kind words. The babies are almost 10 weeks old now, and 36 weeks gestationally. They are all still in the NICU, but have made amazing progress. Emily is allready taking many of her feeds by mouth and is now over 5 lbs. Leah has just started with the mouth feeding and is getting better at it every day. Avery is still on higher levels of oxygen and isn't able to mouth feed yet, but she is getting stronger every day as well. They all started out around 1 1/2 pounds and are now around 5. It's amazing how 5 lbs can look so big! They are all so adorabale, sweet and strong. I would imagine everyone will be home by the end of May...hopefully sooner. My guess is Emily will be home before my due date (May 15), Leah around due date and Avery a little after. I've been spending all day at the hospital every day and rotate between the 3 of them. I'm thrilled and scared to imagine life without nurses there to help. Breast feeding is starting slow, but has begun. I'm making between 40 and 60 oz a day of milk and can not wait to pump less and feed more. Nearly 10 weeks and no formula needed as of yet. Thanks to all the pumping, Ive lost all baby weight and then some. What a diet!

Congrats to JG..I can't wait to meet your babies.

Good luck to every one!!!

Hi Everyone,

How is the last stretch of time coming for everyone? Things have gotten so quiet?

I am starting some homeopathic remedies for softening of the cervix and enhancement of contractions next week and have several accupunture appointments already. Not sure if this will work but I am ready to do anything to get out of being induced due to the GD. Induction in Germany is not a quick process from what I have seen in the US. They said you can be in labor with a first time pregnancy for 2 or 3 days. Yikes, considering the contractions are so much more painful than the regular ones. C Sections are also not really performed upon demand, unless they are medically necessary. I really considered getting on a plane and staying with my in laws for the birth - but now it is too late.

I can't wait to hear more of everyone's babynews. Good luck for the next few weeks.

Hey all!

Guess what? I had my baby!

Grace Ellen Louise was born on 4/24/10 at 9:24 pm . . . 4 lbs 12 oz and 18.25 inches long . . . 3 weeks early!

Funny story: DH and I were getting ready to go to a wedding . . . mucous plug passed, quickly followed by the bloody show . . . must have been in denial, because we started driving to the wedding! Halfway there, we stopped and I realized that my water had broke! That was quickly followed by contractions that were 5 minutes apart! This all happened in the space of an hour! Crazy, eh?

Checked into the hospital at 2:30 pm, 4 cm dialated . . . had a touch of high blood pressure and was concerned about pre-eclampsia . . . turned out to be negative and I delivered at 9:24 pm! Pretty fast!

Baby is doing good . . . has a bit of jaundice, so she stayed behind in the hospital to get some more treatments, but I hope to have her home tomorrow!

Hi Ladies,
Well, I know that this is a little late, but Bradley Mark and Charlotte Grace were born on 4/7 at 8:47 and 8:48 pm both 5 lb 5 oz and 18 and 18.5 inches. They stayed behind in the NICU for a couple of weeks, but both are home now and life is crazy as ever! They're both laying on the couch staring at each other right now! The first few days were hard, recovering from the c-section, Charlotte having breathing issues, and Bradley not interested in eating very much, along with the pre eclampsia, which ended up being pretty severe, but all is well now and the babies and I are doing wonderfully. At almost 4 weeks old, both of them only wake up once in the middle of the night to eat. The NICU got them on a really good schedule, so it's been easier than usual to stick with it. Motherhood is wonderful and it was soooo worth the wait to have these two.

Deftones- congrats on your little girl! What a surprise that she came so early! Ha, I love your story and I probably would have done the same thing and started to go to the wedding too! You'll always have a great story to tell little Grace (great name btw :-))

Lucky- Still hanging in there? Ugh, induction does sound pretty horrible in Germany, I don't blame you for trying to stay away from that!

Faith- Can't wait to meet those babies, any of them home yet?

Hi JG - Glad to hear everything went well and you are doing fine. I can only imagine your joy in brining them home. Again congratulations!

AFM - I had my prenatal appointment today at the hospital where I wanted to conclude them before delivery. Turns out that there will be no need and due to low amniotic fluid, I need to be induced tomorrow morning. While they say it could just be that the baby has pushed the fluid and everything seems fine otherwise, they do not want to risk anything at this point. So I am off to hopefully have our little girl within the next few dys also. Hoping it will not be the quoted 2 to 3 days :)

Hi Everyone,

My induction went well and it did definately not take 2 or 3 days, more like 5 or 6 hours from the first contractions - the doctors were quite surprised. I was fully dilated within less than 2 hours but the baby needed to still lodge itself in the pelvis for birth which took a while. Thank goodness for the PDA in this process, although I really did not want one initially.

Teagan Cassidy was born on May 6, 2010 at 47 cm and 2440 g. She is very tiny but healthy and did not need any neonatal care. While we struggled with Jaundice in the beginning, she is now doing fine and drinking a lot of milk to get bigger quickly.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hello Ladies,
Sorry i've been missing for a while, just had so much going on. I had my little Miracle May3rd and she is perfect and healthy. Im so happy to see everyone doing well and had their bundle of joy. This was such a long journey and we all have made it. What a blessing. I know its kind of early having a 2wk old but does anyone have their baby on a schedule yet. I cant seem to get her on one. She is up all times of the night. I give her both breast and formula. It seems like she doesnt get full off the breast milk alone. I dont know if anyone else experienced this but I cried the 1st wk and didnt no y. I was so exhausted and tired and just cried. Im so happy having her but once she came its like this overwhelming feeling came over me. I hope its not post partum but I feel much better now. My mom came to help me and let me get some rest because I literally did not sleep for days staying up with the baby. We both are doing great now. Still adjusting being a first time mom but loving every moment. If anyone can give me any tips. I hope everyone is doing great. I will check back in later.
