Hi everyone,

Tammy Congratulations for your BFP, I am so happy for your family that Zach is going to be a big brother!

Tiger It is awesome that you are coming to Costa Rica! I live in San Jose which is like 4 hours away by car, and Tamarindo is a beautiful place.

Klinger Thank you for the welcome, and thanks for adding me to the list, November is right I guess I will star bcps after AF shows and maybe then I will now a little more on my schedule.

Victoria I am so sorry for your BFN, sending lots of hugs your way.

AFM Beta today was 6.5 :( so it is a chemical pregnancy for me this time. I did not POAS first time around, and this time I did at 8dp5dt, it was positive, so when I received my beta on wednesday it was like a slap in the face. Well I cried a lot that day and today results were expected so I am recovering already and looking at the positives, which are that I can cycle again and of course that I have my loving boys.

Hi everybody

I'm new to this board. Seems strange to be posting to a 'fall' board. I live in New Zealand and it's Spring here.

Lots happening on this board. I'll do my best to catch up. :D

I went through an IVF cycle in May but unfortunately miscarried at 8 1/2 weeks. However, I was lucky that my body responded really well during the cycle and did everything it should. Even after the cycle when I knew the pregnancy was non-viable, my body miscarried on cue and I got my AF 3 days after the end of the miscarriage. I waited it out for a month though to give my body (and mind) a rest.

I am scheduled to have a FET this Thursday - natural cycle. I started progesterone pessaries this morning. Back to the goo-ey-ness. There are two frosties to transfer so hopefully they'll both survive the thaw. The FET has timed itself beautifully. I was due to have a week off work the week after next as I have a best friend arriving from Australia with her 3 and 5 yr old children. So now I'm taking an extra two days off and I'll have lots of time to relax after the FET. Yay! The only problem is that I've applied for a new position at the same place I work now so there is a possibility that I'll be called up for an interview next week. Will try to suppress the stress levels!

I haven't had rime to read the whole of this thread but will do when I've got more time on my hands. So just a few personals for now.

Firstly Rio - was reassuring for me to see your name on this board. I hope you are well. What are you up to and what is happening for you -sorry I've only read a little bit of the thread.

Osi - welcome to the wonderful world of IVF. I'm a relatively new comer to IVF and can assure you that you'll get loads of support from fellow IVFers posting here. I would have truly struggled without the kind words and support of the May cycle group during my first cycle - Rio especially! I found it so reassuring to be able to communicate with women that were going through a similar situation.

Tammy - congrats to you. You so deserve this. :D

Tiger - we can compare FETs :)

AFM - great to see your name here. All the very best for your next cycle.

Chilling - good luck with your ET.

HFB - funny! I did a sneaky stick test at home during my last cycle. It was negative and I was gutted. Then I realized that the sticks were well and truly expired so I held onto hope and waiting for my bloodiest in a couple days more time. I have a feeling that I'll end up doing the sneaky again this time though as DH really can't understand why we just can't wait.

Anyway ladies, time to go and enjoy the weekend - start the housework that is!

Victoria - I'm so sorry, hun. It's your first time, no? Chin up, it'll happen for you. Please fee free to vent here. Go and cry and do what you need to do and come back to us.

Ana - I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how that feels. Take some time, hun.

Franny - ??!?!?! What happened, my love??

To all the newbies - WELCOME! Just you you all know "AFM" means "As For Me," so when you see it, it actually pertains to the person posting :)

Osi - Click on the "User Control Panel" under the the menu line on your screen. It'll point you to your signature.

Chili - YAY for 2!! As for your question of PGD, I don't know!! I'm doing it to rid the embryos of a known genetic disorder. I think that there is some truth in saying that you would definitely know that the embryos that make it through the PGD process are stronger just in that they have survived. However, I don't know if I would do it purely for fear of disorders based on maternal age. Have you decided???

AFM - U/S tomorrow morning! Let's hope for lots of beautiful follies.

hi everyone!

task-master DH is allowing me to come online for a few minutes to tell you the news! i'll have to do personals when he goes out....hahaha

so today we put back 3 embies!!!!
we had 2-8-cell A's, and 1-9-cell B! they consider A to be fragmentation under 5% and B's to be between 5 and 20%, so all 3 are great they said!
at first the doctor doing the transfer (who was this really tall russian man with a very thick accent) came in and said...we will transfer 2 embryos today, a 8-cell A, and a 9-cell B. and i said...i want 3! he looked at me and said...well because of your age and it being your first time..i dunno...and i jumped in really fast and was like...umm its my 4th!! i said it's just my first with this clinic. he looked shocked and i guess thats all he needed to know because he opened the door that connected my room to the lab and yelled back "SHE WANT''S 3!!!" hahaha in his thick accent it made it feel like we were sending back food at a diner..."she said no onions!!!" hahaha
the embryologist came in and said she would pick the next best one, which on the sheet looked like a 6-cell B...well she went to go look at them, and came back and said it had caught up and was now an 8-cellA!! wooohoooo
so all this time was going by, and by the time they got to to actual transfer i felt like i was gonna pee on the doctors head!! hahaha my poor bladder was sooooo full.
so there ya have it!
as we were waiting our 10 minutes after before we could get up the ultrasound tech said "you know if you have triplets the doctor doesnt babysit! that last line on the paperwork you signed was his no babysitting clause!"
hahaha
then i thought...who the hell would i ever get to babysit triplets???
well...of course we are getting far ahead of ourselves, and are hopeful to have just one healthy baby!

we still have 2 other embies growing...i already cant remember what their grades were, but they will let us know in the next few days if they made it to freeze!

ok back to bed i go!

lauren grow embies grow!!!! i cant wait to hear about you SnS tomorrow!!!

victoria i am so sorry hun! ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))

chili thinking of you...any news??

****much love always****

Franny - I'm so excited to hear your ET went well!!! Congrats on your 3 wonderful embies!!! :D :D :D YAY for Franny being PUPO!!

Victoria - I'm so sorry about the BFN. We'll be here for you when you decide what your next steps will be.

Osi - Welcome to the fall group!! Did you say you start your injections this coming Sunday? What injections will you be starting (lupron, stims)? I just want to make sure I have the right date and know which injections you're starting so I put you in the right part of the list. :)

Tess69 - Welcome to the fall group!! You must be so excited that your FET is coming right up on Thursday! For now, I have you up in the Waiting for IVF section of the list since I couldn't figure out another category to put you in...you're not waiting for AF or on BCPs or using injectables so I was stumped. :) But I'll be sure to move you to the ER/ET in process on Thursday.

Lauren319 - Hope your SnS goes well tomorrow. Grow Follies Grow!!

Lou - YAY for no cysts and hope everything is a go!

anacris - I'm very sorry you ended up having a chemical. They're so hard to have...all that excitement, then that horrible sadness. I hope your November cycle will be the one!

AFM, not much to report. DH & I do our IVF group session on Monday so we're looking forward to that. I'm still very impatiently waiting for AF so I can schedule my trial transfer & saline u/s...those are the last 2 things I need to do before we get the green light to cycle next month. This month's AF was due sometime this week, but I'm having such a screwy cycle after my ectopic last month. I've been spotting all day every day for almost 2 weeks now...what a freaking pain! I just want AF to come on full force so I can get her visit over with! I turn 38 years old tomorrow, so maybe AF is just waiting to be my birthday present. :)

Franny...I am so happy for you!!! 3 wonferful embies snuggling in AND maybe 2 to freeze!!!! Rest up!

Lauren319...I hope you get some great news tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! I love how you mentioned Tammy's TLC show. DH and I already named ours! We would be Jon and Ryann plus Nine (of course you would have to say my name more like Ryne, than Ryann, but it still works)!! As for thawing 2 and 2...I haven't spoken to my RE yet, but since she hasn't been very accomodating thus far, I can't imagine she'd just thaw more at the last minute. With my luck she would cancel.

Tess...Welcome! I wish you the best of luck on Thursday and hope everything goes perfect!

Ana...Welcome! I'm sorry for the chemical, but you seem to have such a wonderful attitude! Your boys are beautiful and I hope they offer you all the comfort in the world.

Victoria...I am so sorry. I can only imagine what it feels like, but know that we are all here to support you in any way we can.

BLang...This last time I was on BCP before my fresh cycle I didn't get AF after finishing it until after starting my stims. RE said this was fine. I would let your RE know anyways!

Osi...Welcome! My DH took a picture of all my meds because he was home when they came and I wasn't. He sent it to me and asked if we were supposed to get all of this. It was pretty funny. He just kept staring at it all!

Lou...Great news! You are getting so close now! When we were laying in bed the other night I told DH about Lupron (at least about what I've beenr eading from you) and warned him that I may be a beast. He obviously is extrmely excited! I will ask my clinic about vitrification...but I don't feel like talking to them right now so I'll do it when I get my next AF :)

Teresa....I LOVE that you snuck some tests!!! I can't wait to hear about your BFP!!!

Alicia...Welcome! I wish you tons of luck!!!!

Chili...Congrats on your 2 embies! That's a tough decision on the PGD and I'm afraid I just don't feel qualified to offer an opinion. I know you'll make the right chouce for yourself. Let us know what you decide!

Tammy...I loved your door! You are 1 brave woman for sharing with everyone! Part of me will want to shout it from the rooftops and the other part of me will want to keep it all inside! You and Bill must be so excited! Good luck with Zach's party tomorrow...sounds like you're shaping up for quite an exciting day!

kbillsy...I'm still floored too! I think DH and I have decided to our FET with this RE now that I have cooled down from the way she treated me. I already know that I will not return to her for another fresh cycle. I'm so excited you're getting so close!

Annashope...So exciting that you have your plant o move forward! The 9th will be here before you know it!

Lauren1171...I'm still torn with the how many to thaw dillema. I haven't spoken to my RE yet, but I REALLY don't want to leave 1 frostie because I am done with this RE after my FET. I guess it will depend on what she say and if I'm able to push her or not.

Wonderat...Sorry about that job! You just have to tell yourself that it obviously wasn't meant to be!

Nancy...Always great when things cost less than expected!

jla and Giner...Welcome!

Rio...I'm glad I don't sound like a complete crazy person wanting to transfer all 4!!!

Klinger...Happy Birthday tomorrow! I hope AF does arrive for your birthday so you can get the show on the road! I'll be doing the AF dance for you!

AFM...Got my first AF after my fresh cycle and it's AWFUL! I can't even make it an hour without needing to run to the bathroom to change. No fun when you have 30 6th graders wondering WTH is wrong with their new teacher. So with my next AF I should start my frozen cycle. DH and I think we have decided to stay with this RE through out FET and then move on to a new one when we go for baby #2 (or #3 since I'll be having twins :D )

I was totally bummed yesterday because it was DH's birthday. I thought I would have my BFP already and planned on writing "Happy Birthday Daddy" on his cake, but then just had to write Jon. It was a bummer.

Hi All,
MY ASS HURTS!!!  Those PIO shots are NASTY!!! OH and I went to RE's office to ask the nurse to show me the least painful quandrant of my ass that would be the least painful and she said it was soo TINY! that it would hurt because I have sooo little meat!!! Whoo hoo!! :D I guess those 4 days a week at the gym are paying off!!! I know that'll change if I get PG. We decided to go to PGD. We felt if the embies make it that far they are strong and will survive the pregnancy. We're are optimistic but very cautious about our excitement for success. We know several over 40 folks that had children with severe genetic disorders yet I was born when my Mom was almost 40 and Dad was 48 and my youngest BIL was born when my MIL was almost 41 and FIL was 60. So us old folks can still make babies but it takes more work. Thanks for all your opinions. I'll take them to heart. We do believe in fate and God's will but science can help tremendously. I'll keep you posted. The nurse said she'll call with any news.
Much love to you all,

Franny - How sweet! Where the heck did DH even find that? Congrats on transferring 3 great ones!!!

Chili - Have you used the Crinone before?

I was wondering how many of you like the shot in the ass better than the feta cheese tampon insert (Crinone)? I have only used the Crinone, and so much comes out that I wonder if I am even doing it right, and if that contributes to my BFNs. I was thinking of asking for the shot next time. DH said, "it's just a shot in the ass...how bad can it hurt?" I would like to get a needle and shoot him in the ass every night for two weeks to see if he feels the same way!

Lauren LOL :D I was dying laughing when I read your post I have actually threatened DH to stick him with the needle from PIO so he would know how it feels.

On a more serious note I have done both crinone and PIO and honestly as much as PIO looks much scarier it actually isn't that bad. I just froze the spot with an ice pack for 15 mins and then I didn't feel anything. The crinone was terrible and in the end I feel crinone is not as effective. Given the option O would definitely use PIO

Laurin 1171,
Feta Cheese?!!  I also have the Endometrin inserts but I chose to do the shots instead because they apparently show up better on the Beta testing and it's faster and less messy. The needle is long though. It's 1.5" long 25 g for the Progesterone in Oleate. That's why it's uncomfortable for people with less meat on their bones. I'm so used to getting stuck though it doesn't matter anymore. Hey, I think all these guys that act so manly and smug should take a few of these shots so they know what we are going through  Best of luck to you!!

Franny -- Congrats! on 3. Love the School House Rock video your dh played for you. That's how I learned my multiplication tables back in 3rd grade. LOL You're PUPO!!!! :-)

Ana -- Sorry about your betas. :-(

Chili -- sorry about the sore rear; however, good for you on being so small and all those workouts.

Annashope -- glad for the tip on freezing the hip area before giving the shot. That's the shot I'm most scared about.
