Heather ... I missed your post last night ... You poor thing - what a shocking thing to happen. Whoever is responsible wants stringing up. It must have been awful for you having to put the doggies through such trauma. I'm sure they're getting lots of extra cuddles and attention from you, which they deserve. It's a good job you were around and realised so quickly what had happened, and managed to get them down to the vets .. It doesn't bare thinking about ..

I hope something positive come of the police investigation / newspaper report - and they actually manage to find the b*stard who did this.

Hi everyone, lots of reading to catch up on what everyone has been up to - and apart from Heather's holdiay, it all sounds pretty cr*ppy - I am so sorry to hear of your bad news, Miss Molly and Paula - to have come so far and to have such good hopes and signs, must make things even more difficult - you both have amazingly positive, practical (who says shoe shopping isn't practical??) responses, that I am blown away - rest, recuperate, and focus on the future - all of which you seem to be doing.

Bel - taking Annie to see your IVF dr - does this mean you are talking about using some of your frosties?

Well, things are 'moving' at our end, we are 16w2days today and I am starting to feel some movement, which is wonderful. We have our next scan on the 23rd (day after we get back from 2 week holiday, gold coast, coffs harbour and sydney) - apparently this is the one we can ask to see what sex it is - still in two minds about what to do - I think I only want to find out if they can be fairly sure, rather than it is is just an educated guess, so will have think about it a bit more.

We are all so much looking forward to this holiday, first break since we went to my brother's wedding in Perth at christmas time.

Take care

Hey all!

Josie, lovely to hear from you!!, glad that the pregancy is chugging along nicely. That's great that you are already feeling movement too, must be an active baby. I didn't feel Annie until I was about 23 weeks, my placenta was right out in front though, and this is supposed to act as a bit of a cushion for kicks etc. I loved feeling her move, made the whole thing so much more real, was all quite surreal prior to that. We were very definate about wanting to know the sex and were really pleased we knew we were having a girl. We set up her room, named her and felt like we got to know her before she came along. I can also understand the arguments for not finding out as well - is more of a lovely surprise at the end (especially if you push him or her out)..You have a couple of weeks to decide though, so that's great. We wanted to go back and see Marianne (our IVF doctor) to show her Annie. We really wanted to do this, she wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her amazing work. She was quite emotional about it too which was lovely, said that she was very priveledged to be working in this field..We have one embie on ice, we have no idea what we'll do at this stage. I'm still breastfeeding as well, so no idea of the ability ot otherwise to undergo IVF at this stage of our lives. We have the appointment with Marianne in November mainly to talk about our options..no idea what the future will bring though!?!?!?!

MissMolly, I have always manintained that shoe shopping can cure a thousand ills. Good woman!!

Hope all are well. Paula, how are you doing????

Hi ladies,

Like Josie, I've had a lot of catching up to do and was really gutted to hear about MissMolly and Paula's disappointments.

As you may remember MissMolly, we had fertilisation problems too but were lucky to have one work that led to the PG. But it could so easily have gone the other way and I totally can relate to your frustration at stumbling at such a late stage. My thoughts and prayers are with both you guys for better luck with your next cycles.

Heather, I'm also so shocked and angry to hear about what was done to your beloved doggies. It's sickening to think that somebody can do that to such lovely creatures. How are they doing now? Let us know how the investigation goes.

Bel, it was lovely of you to introduce Annie to your IVF Dr. I'm sure it makes her job so worthwhile to see what joy she helps bring into people's lives.

Josie, I'm glad to hear all is going well with you. How exciting to be able to start feeling the bubby move!

I'm now 15 weeks and 5 days PG. My next scan is next week and I can't wait. I'm still not feeling any movements (being well-padded I believe I might have to wait a few more weeks before I do begin to detect any). I'm keeping pretty well though - the occasional killer headache but otherwise good. Luckily my Dr said it was fine to take Panadol as I wouldn't be able to get any work done without it when the headaches do strike.

Take care everyone,
Deanne

Hiya Ladies

MissMolly, hope the shoe shopping helped a bit. New shoes always lift my spirits...the more expensive and impracticle the better! When do you have your follow-up appointment? I hope the clinic has some answers for you. It would seem strange if they didn't have a bit of an idea about what happened. Probably a good idea to take a bit of a break and focus on your holiday....the cocktail tour sounds fantastic, I am green with envy!

Josie, glad to hear that you are doing so well. It must be amazing to feel the baby move.....how exciting. The holiday sounds fantastic, especially as it is getting so much warmer now. Hope you have a wonderful time and also come to an easy decision about finding out who he or she is. Enjoy!

Deanne, sounds like things are going really well for you too, except for the headaches. Are they due to all the hormonal changes, etc? You have had a bit of a rough time but I hope you are absolutely glowing...there has to be some perks!

Belinda, how wonderful to take Miss Boo to meet the Doctor. Also nice that she was emotional about it. I had never really thought about it but I guess it must be a bit of a rollercoaster for the clinic staff also, full of disappointment but incredibly rewarding when it succeeds. Exciting too that you are looking at your options as far as your frostie goes. You sound pretty relaxed about it and I am sure a chat with the doc will help you make with the decision making process.

Paula, how are you doing? I hope you managed to steal some 'me' time over the weekend and that you are feeling a bit better. I also hope that DH managed to catch the plane today and is now home and pampering you as he should. Take care.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my poor puppies. They are much better now after enjoying a weekend of pure pampering. We had a party on Saturday night to celebrate DH reaching Super Nerd status but we felt really crappy and really self conscious about any noise for fear of annoying the psychopath that lives somewhere in our neighbourhood. I hate this person. On a brighter note, the paper have had a number of people call in today to find out if the dogs were ok which has restored our faith in our community. The paper is going to run a follow-up story tomorrow just to let everyone know that they are ok. All of this has helped to raise awareness in our neighbourhood which will make it difficult for anyone to exhibit strange behaviour anywhere near our house. The police, although not confident, have said that they have had some success in laying charges for this type of thing previously so we will keep our fingers crossed that the culprit is caught.

Sorry, I do rabbit on. I hope you all have a terrific week.

Cheers
Heather

Hi, Tiger here,

I am back... and feeling much better than last time I posted here..... Loads of reading to catch up on; warm welcome too to our buddies popping over from other groups - how lovely to see you all here 8) .

MissMolly, I am very sorry about your news... and I feel really disappointed that acu might have been cause of the bad result. I don't understand.... I guess such things affect each person's body differently ... . Good on you for having a great attitude; any shopping is a great therapy!! To be honest I did loads myself while I was in Tokyo  .

Paula, I am still learning about estrogen level business but even to me it seems bit odd??? hugs to you and your lovely daughter. I am sure you will have a better result next time as doctors should be able to figure out what went horribly wrong at this attempt. I hope you are cuddling up snug in your hubby's arms tonight. I know exactly how you felt about him not coming home as planned. My hubby is due in Melbourne on 19th this month - heaven only knows what I would do to him if he doesn't make it!!

Heather, your pups are on the medication now? Evil people out there, how do they get a kick out of doing something like that? reading your post made me very very angry - I too hate whoever that did it.

Josie and Deanne, sounds like you are both doing lovely. Along with beautiful Belinda I love to hear you all talk about your bubs and pregnancy resulting from IVF. It's inspirational and it gives me much needed HOPE. Thanks for sticking around xxx. Bel, I wish one day we can have a little Aussie thread's bubs album. In it, Annie will be the big sis for all other bubs following :). I think my hubby and I will definitely wanna know what the sex of the baby will be before the birth.

Cheers, Tiger

Hi all,
Tiger, welcome back to Australia??, 11 days until you see hubby sounds great too..is he home for good then?? or does he go back and forth to Japan quite a bit..you must miss him soooo much! I love th idea of the aussie and kiwi babies having a bit of a photo album..Annie would love to be the big sister (though she isn't terribly gentle with little people, though I do try!!)..When do you start your next cycle??

Deanne, glad that the pregnancy is progressing well. I had some shocker headaches generally in my first trimester and took some panadol. I was so paranoid about taking medication while I was pregnant I use to ring my obstetricians rooms just before taking them (every time I took them) just in case. My doctor was very reassuring though that panadol (and indeed some stronger medication) is fine..hormones do crazy things to our bodies.

Heather, yep, it was great to revisit our fertility doctor. She is a very gentle, kind woman and she thought Annie was just so beautiful. I think it's a really lovely thing to introduce our miracle babies to the doctors that make it all happen. Glad that your puppies are better and receiving lots of well deserved TLC.

Paula..where are you, are you OK??

Hi Bel, Hi Heather,

yea the weather is so wonderful here - just lovely. I think I will start my next tmt in with my October Cycle. But you know what the silly thing is.... I am on Day 32 of my current cycle and still no sign of AF - but I know I can't be pregnant as my bbt is everywhere. I have never had this before so it feels very strange, I always cycle in 28 days - just about. I guess this must be synarel's doing..... aghhhhh. The timing of AF not coming as usual is really annoying because I start my job tomorrow - so if it appears in next three days... endo pain might cause a bit of problem - I hope it will wait until this Saturday. My husband? he is still living in Japan... and no, we don't enjoy this limbo-living one tiny bit - it would have been a little easeir if we didn't need help of IVF to conceive. I suspect if all goes well with my tmt I should know by start of Dec whether it was successful or not, so if negative I will return to Japan straight away like I did last time. If positive... who knows. My husband will be here on 19th Sept for 5 days but he is here again in Novemeber for 13 days, so the separation won't be as bad as the last one.

Cheers, Tiger

Good morning girls,

How's everyone this morning? Looks like I have a few days of reading in a couple threads to catch up on everyone, but just wanted to say a quick hello.

I started birth control pills on saturday to bring on AF. Hopefully if all goes like it's suppose to i'll be doing 1st blood test somewhere between the 24-27????? All depends. If my fsh is low enough I'll start my next cycle on day 3 of af. Only problem is it's taken me a year to get my fsh low enough for the 1st treatment so I"m praying it won't go up again, otherwise they won't do it. It's going to be a very long month.

Will be back in a while to check on you all. Hope your all having a wonderful day. It's sunny in NSW today :D

Hey Tiger, hope AF didn't show up today and that work was a breeze. Glad to hear you are thinking about your next cycle...it gives you something to focus on and I know it will turn out much better this time around.

Likewise for you Paula, are you doing a short protocol this time also? If so we will be very close together in our cycles. Here's hoping that AF shows up for you when she is supposed to and that your FSH levels haven't risen.

October is going to be a great month for all of us....I can feel it in my bones (whatever that means).

Happy Hump Day!

Heather, my grandmother used to say that she could feel it "in her waters", I love these expressions (and the fact that our grandchildren will be laughing at our strange expressions in 30 years time!!)..October WILL be a great month.
Sorry about the short post, has been a long day, will post more tomorrow.

Hey all,
Sorry about last nights little post, I had just started to post my message when Johnie arrived home with dinner, what a good man! We're doing well, Annie has another cold, it really does seem to be one after the other at this stage. She is fine though, she hates getting her nose wiped (apparently this is normal!) and see's me coming with the tissues..

Paula, sounds sensible. I always felt quite strange taking birth control pills as part of the fertility program, seemed somewhat at odds with the overall aim I always thought!! I hope and pray that the FSH level is lovely and low so you can start your next cycle sooner rather than later.

Tiger, day 32 of your cycle and no AF..have you done a HPT (i hate the things, having done so many of them in my time!)???, BBT is notoriously inaccurate from what I have read..You and your hubby do it tough with all of your time apart, you must really enjoy each others company and have lots of catching up to do when you get back together!..I would hate to see your phone bills as well!!!..how did the job go by the way??

Heather, keep up that lovely PMA!

Sorry to hear that Annie has yet another cold...I am not surprised that she hates having her nosed wiped, after all the wiping and sucking that she has had recently I am surprised that she doesn't tremble with fear every time a kleenex ad comes on! Hope she gets better quickly.

What a sweety DH is for bringing home dinner. I am taking my DH out to dinner tonight. Nothing as flash as African, just the local pub....it has a nice beer garden and really posh food so it should be fun.

I think I am definitely a summer person!! The first sign of spring and I am feeling great. Bring on the swimming and BBQ weather I say.

Hope everyone is keeping well....and....just in case you hadn't realised....the weekend starts tomorrow arvo!!

Cheers

Hiya Girls,

Heather, this warm weather is just lovely isn't it? I hope you're having a beautiful evening with your DH. TGI Friday ay!

Bel, little Annie is sickly again :(... poor baby. Please give her hugs and kisses from me - I don't mind big fat wet ones - just maybe not the big fat green ones.

Paula, I know exactly what you mean about going back on BCPs. Supression stage of the tmt is just as important as fertilisation stage - in fact supression is more important because if we don't achieve that - we can't go forward. All very frustrating!! I hope it goes well, I have my fingers crossed for you.

My work is going fine, it's a breeze. Feels good to be back in a workforce and actually earning again after 15 months of housewife-ing with volunteer work commitment. Only problem is, everyone wants to know why I am back on my own and my hubby is still living in Japan. I don't care for what they think but I have a feeling that many of them think we are going though a marriage crisis.... that really cheeses me off. By the way, my AF didn't show....day 35 today. I spoke to my best friend about this unusually long cycle, she suggested I wait until my hubby to arrive to do HPT. Gals - what do you think? should I wait or should I just go for it?

Have a lovely weekend everyone,

Cheers, Tiger
