Hi guys,

Soory its been a while but I haven't had that much time lately between a christening, work, scans and doc's appointments! But have read over the missed posts and good to hear that everyomne is doing well and have had good results.

I had a 26 week scan last week and both bubs were measuring bang on for their dates. Both were breach though and I have started to think of how I will be having them. There is still time for them to turn obviously, but I have had two friends with twins who gave birth at 26 weeks and as I pass that mark, worry that I need to get myself organised.

I am feeling a little guilty as I listen to all you guys talking about keeping them in as long as possible but I am feeling so uncomfortable and still vomitting each morning that I can't wait for this to be over. When people say that I still have 14 weeks to go I feel like crying as I don't know if I can last that long. The other side of it is that I can't wait to have them here I don't want to have to wait that long. I know, I know, I know that they are better off being in me longer but I can't help myself.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Em--I'm so sorry to hear that you're feeling that way, but I'm sure you're not alone. I'm 27 weeks now, and I'm pretty uncomfortable, especially at night. So, don't feel bad about needing to vent...that's what we're here for! And you know that your little ones need to cook as long as possible. The longer you can cook them, the less time they'll need to spend in the NICU. Just take it easy, and remember how much you went through to get these babies...you're so blessed! :)

Em, I completely understand the "I hate being pregnant" thing. I am big, uncomfortable and can't wait for my babies to get here. That said, I want them to stay in at least another month.

I am starting to have problems with my blood pressure. It was so great until last week. Now I am getting really swollen, not just my feet and legs, but my hands too. I don't have any protein in my urine and my bp is staying around 140/80, so no reason to panic yet. But I am concerned that I may develop pre-eclampsia. DH says I am worrying too much. Hopefully he is right and it doesn't get worse.

I have a sono on Friday, so I am hoping the boys are close to 3 lbs. DH is going with me to the appt. This is the first one he's been to since I was 8 weeks, so it should be fun for him to see actual babies unstead of the little grey blobs they were at 2 motnhs.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi all

The last part of pregnancy is the most difficult, especially with twins. Hang in there - before you know it it will be over. I keep myself so busy I hardly have time to really think about things unless there are aches and pains or I have over done it :)

I read, shop, decorate the nursery, visit Ebay heaps looking for any bargins, surf the internet looking for various items and information, write emails - long ones, phone people and do cafe with friends. I have read up on breasting feeding. Checked out various twins sites and breast feeding sites. I also am a member of a few forums - not just this one. It is amazing how the time fly's! If you work then I can imagine that could be a help and a hinderance.

I am so excited about the babies - I seem to have lost most of the worry about them coming before they would be viable. I still worry, but not so much. The worry really affected our happiness about the babies and I would not let myself enjoy the experience - thanks goodness that seems to have passed. I guess we all have things to worry about and each one of us seems to get to a stage where a certain stage of the pregnancy seems to be harder for us to get through. Mine was the first 24 weeks!

Xrayem hope you are feeling better soon - keep busy, busy, busy! not the phyiscal busy but the mental busy :D It really helps!

Lauralou - hope things settle down for you and don't progress onto soomething else

On a lighter note, I have posted some nursery shots on the photobucket - the link is below.

http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y222/ivfgroup/

I still have not finished - need mobiles and picture. I posted a before shot of the walls and chest of drawers which ended up at the end of my 8 posted photos. The stars were hand stenciled and would not try doing it now! The frames match the chest of drawers. It ended up being a bigger project than what I thought and girls - all done on a budget! Did not cost much at all

Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Belly rubs to all

LauraLou--I'm pretty swollen too...nothing too disgusting, but I'm definitely dealing with bigger fingers, etc. However, I think that's pretty normal due to water retention and slower circulation. I have an OB appt. on Thursday, so we'll see what he says.

Di--I'm going to go check out your pics! I have my pics posted on photobucket too! They're the black/white nursery pics. (they're under ivf group)

I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm sooooo tired!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your support. Just feeling a little blue at the moment as DH is away on business at the moment and won't get back till wednesday night then he flies out to New Zealand on Thursday morning for a family wedding and won't be back until next Monday. I'm not allowed to fly interstate anymore much less international so I am stuck at home on my own. I'm feeling pretty alone and vunerable. All my family live in another state and my best friend is on holidays for the same period of time. I'm just feeling sorry for myself and need to get over it, nut am very glad that I have you guys to vent to.

Laura - I'm sorry to hear about your BP. I can relate to the swelling - I can't wear my wedding rings anymore and all my shoes hurt. But each time my BP has been ok (120/70). Try and take it easy.

Dianne - Will head over to the photobucket soon to see your handiwork!

Em...

For the most part, I have enjoyed reading about everyone's experiences but haven't posted too many responses. However, after reading yours I felt compelled to respond.

No one wants to have "forced" alone time. Try to plan one fun thing to do each day. They can be small things like renting a movie you haven't seen, starting a good book, writing a letter to your babies for their baby book or making a new recipe. My husband is really busy with work and managing his own business and hobbies. Instead of trying to keep myself super busy and entertained at all times, I focus on having one special thing to look forward to when he isn't around or available. The last thing I did was treated myself to a mani, pedi and then take out chinese food. I sat in front of the TV and watched a DVD I had borrowed from my friend and never got around to watching. Before I knew it, it was time for bed and I actually enjoyed myself and didn't dwell on the fact that it was only myself and the doggies. I wonder how often I will be able to do that once the twins arrive. My guess is almost NEVER! :D

Hang in there....you will find the right thing to distract you.

Have a good night,
Deb

Beauty 19--Welcome! You had great advice.....Congrats on your good news. When are you due?

Xrayem--I think Beauty's advice is great--take advantage of this alone time and do things you never get to do....even if it's just rest and veg out on the couch! You won't be able to do that much longer! I hope you find something to cheer you up. But don't worry, vent to us as much as you'd like!

Di--I saw your nursery pics! I love it! You really did a great job...your babies will love it.

Good night gals! Kisses to your bellies!

Kim - I am 10 weeks pregnant and due November 6th. I took my last progesterone shot last Tuesday - what a relief!! This Thursday is my last appt. with my specialist. :( He is the greatest! Then he is sending me on my way. I have my first appointment with my new OB next Monday. I took so long that my OB actually retired. When are you due? Are you going to find out the sex of your babies? I can't wait to find out. I still can't believe that there are two of them in there. CRAZY!! :D :D

To everyone else - have a wonderful night. I come home from work everyday exhausted. I usually nap for an hour or two b/c my sleeps at night have been restless. Is anyone else experiencing this? I use the bathroom too many times and then can't fall back asleep for a while. Any suggestions?

beauty19--I have a good friend who is due with twins around the same time as you! How funny! My "official due date" is July 6th, but that would be 40 weeks. However, most twins come around 36 weeks or sooner. So, I'm thinking they'll be here around June 9th. My sister graduates from college on June 11th, so I'm sure I'll be delivering right around then! We're actually not finding out the sex of our twins. People think we're nutz, but we love the "surprise" factor....especially since this pregnancy was so hard to get and will most likely be our only one.

Good luck with your new OB! You're almost at that 12 week mark. That was a relief for me...Sorry to hear you're not sleeping. I was up a lot peeing during the 1st trimester. Now I'm up at night with heartburn. :?

Hey everyone! Sounds like all you gals are so busy getting everything ready for the babies! I have just been working extremely hard and am just about ready for a vacation! I'm really trying to get all my clients in before the babies are here but it doesn't help that people are in a panic worried they won't get their homes finished before they make their grand entrance. What to do!

Di~ Your nursery is so sweet!!!!! You just did a beautiful job and I love your custom finish on the dresser! If you lived closer I would be bugging you to work in the furniture part of my company! :D You two little beanies will be so cozy and happy in that room! LOVE it!!!!

Everyone seems to be buzzing right along! We really are going to need a chart soon to keep track. I just can't wait until we get to start hearing about delivery and taking the babies home!

We got our test results back from the nuchal test and things are perfect. I think it's something like a 1/14000 chance of any thing wrong so we were so happy about that. Now we don't go back until the 2nd of May. Always nice to make it to the next goal and still be right on track. I think I may be starting to show too. :D Still only a 1 lb. weight gain but my body sure isn't what it use to be. Seems like my shape has changed more than my weight. Anyone have that? The good news is I finally outgrew the A cup bra! WHOOHOOO!!!! DH is pretty thrilled. I don't think he thought they would ever grow but now he has been keeping a photo journal so just in case I want a boob job, he can show the Dr. the correct size. At least he's involved!

Hope everyone is having a great night! I've been so busy I haven't had a ton of time to write but hopefully this weekend I can really catch up with everyone.
Take care everyone!

Hi all

Em - that is a really good idea that Deb has - hope you try it and it works for you. Hang in there those days will go quicker than you know it. My DH is off next week for a few days so I am planning some special things to do by myself :) He thinks I going to have fun whilst he is pinning away

Buckeyegal - I think I did see your nursery pics some time ago - feel funky as I remember - great idea!

Lauralou - hope you are doing fine and hanging in there.

Kholtan - Thanks - never did any aging of furniture before so I think it is a good first try. It is funny, generally I am fairly technical and factual (I am on the home leg of a psychology degree) yet I do have a creative side which I occassionly indulge! Strange to me that I like two entirely opposite tasks

Hope everyone is OK and belly rubs to all.

Cheers Di

Well ladies my RE released me this morning to my OB. I'm officially 8w1d pregnant or in my 9th week. 2 good hearbeats, each beanie measuring 16.6mm and 17.2. I guess this is ok because he didn't really say anything I just read it off my ultrasound pictures.

My appt with my OB is on Tueday, April 17! The RE said to stop taking my progesterone on 4/20 which will only put me in my 10th week. I have been taking 200mg, vaginally, 4x a day. I asked him if it was ok to "just stop" taking the progesterone and he said absolutely. I'm nervous about this though. Anyone have any thoughts?

Well ladies I am just counting down the days until I make it to my first milestone.....THE 12 WEEK MARK!

Hope everyones beanies are doing well. Hugs!

Hi ladies,

Just had a dr. appt. and things are measuring well, and my cervix is cooperating, so doc and I are happy. I was hoping he'd have me start cutting back on work, but no such luck as of yet. (I've just been so tired from chasing after first graders all day....they never sit still! ) I was bummed to hear that the dr. thinks we're headed toward a c-section as of now. One baby is breech, so he isn't willing to risk anything. I understand his point, but I was really hoping for vaginal. Have any of you gals heard similar things from your OB?

Rebecca--It's hard for me to remember back that long....it only seems like yesterday, yet it also seems like eons ago! I do remember that my RE (who was extremely cautious and proactive) took me off the suppositories around week 12 or 13. I think I weened off, but I honsestly don't remember...Trust your doc though...and your OB can confirm his decision.
