Ladies - Quick question...this may seem like an odd one but by bed rest....are you referring to just laying flat all day. I spent the entire day after the transfer laying down, Tuesday stayed in bed for most of the day...went out to grab some take-out but stayed on the couch for the rest of the day and today I went to the market, cooked breakfast but will be on couch patrol for the rest of the day. Just wondering if I should be sitting up or must I lay down? This is driving me crazy especially since my Dr didn't recommend any bed rest at all. BUT I trust the ladies that have went through it more than I trust my Dr...

Baby soft -My doc just wanted me to take it easy. I did like you did .... Stayed in bed the day of the transfer and the majority of the second day. I think I went out briefly in the afternoon. After that I stuck to the couch for the third day. Just nothing rigorous. Like Leora said it's not like the embryos will fall out or anything, it really just to promote implantation as close to where the embryos are inserted as possible and decrease the likelihood of an ectopic pregnancy. Sounds like you did good ... I've been told the day of transfer is the most important.

I must say I'm extremely proud of myself; I went to the market today and didn't get a test......I had vowed to buy 16 tests and to start testing twice a day by now Happy that was just pre-transfer talk.

Babysoft10-a's you can see on my signature I've had several transfers and my RE never required me to be on bedrest. However he did suggest taking it easy so I think that what you are doing is perfect. I'm a POAS adict so I am impressed tha you didn't buy a HPT when you sent to the market. I'm keeping you in my prayers and can't wait to hear about your BFP.

Greek - Below is the list of things my Dr restricted

1. Absolutely no intercourse
2. Avoid heavy lifting (nothing over 10lbs)
3. Avoid Alcoholic beverages
4. Avoid smoking
5. Avoid jogging, horseback riding, aerobic exercises, bicycling-including stationary bike
6. Avoid swimming
7. Avoid vacuuming or floor scrubbing
8. Have a shower rather than a bath
9. Avoid situation where your body becomes overheated (sauna, hot tub, etc)
10 Avoid any medication if possible (unless it is prescribed. If you need pain medication, please take Tylenol
11. Avoid traveling on long trips.

Greek- so my doctor basically gave the same list, but clarified (because I asked) the no intercourse thing.....they said no orgasm.....so you could still have intercourse, you just can't have the Big O...unless you like to hang from the ceiling fan or something.....you have to be smart about it

Hi all! So we had 6 eggs from 5 follies like I said. This morning we had 3 eggs, two of which fertilized. I think that's really great considering the odds. I'll get another fert report tomorrow and transfer is Friday morning. Really feeling the presence of God in this cycle!! Hope everyone is well.

babysoft--really good pic you have there.. they normally give me a ultrasound pic ov the embiess as they are been transfered but didnt give me 1 as my own silly mistake i went for a pee before the transfer so couldnt really see much on the photo
which makes me panic a little
today ive been having a funny cramping so tomorrow im getting up and going out I am going try my best not let this get to me like the other times where i examine everything hard tho? my transfer was last wednesday when do I except any symtons at all?

WeHaveHope - This is the one that was hatching...not sure what "arched" I have another one but it's too much trying to get it to load.

Greek - I commend you for staying in the bed a full week...I couldn't do it! Everything in me wants to get up right now and I don't think I'm doing couch patrol tomorrow. Not to mention you have POAS yet! Are you waiting for you beta? I hope I can stick it out but I'm almost sure I won't be able to do it! As far as symptoms...I think it varies. I'm not expecting any at all! When I was pregnant before I didn't even know I was pretors until I POAS....and that was only because I had one sitting around while I was cleaning. I was actually waiting on AF to start my first IVF. I never had any morning sickness through-out my entire pregnancy. Other than feeling a little under the weather some days...I was pretty much same as always.

I know I'm hogging the board....did I mention I'm bored senseless...lol

babsoft--im too scared to poas as im afraid to see a bfn il wait a while longer,you think it would show up now if i was??i have no sign only a bit as if my period is comin n a funny ache in my groin silly eh?this is my 3rd ivf and my doc wants me stay put till today i did everythin he asked the 1st 2 times tho thats why im not pinning my hopes up as last time i nearly cracked up..x

Greek - Did you have a 3 day or 5 day transfer? I'm not sure if it's too early, but I just got finished reading this surrogate board and the women there test after 4 days But honestly I know for I'm testing at 7 days....I did a 5 day transfer and one was already hatching so I think I'll be safe waiting until then. Well that of course is if I can hold off and wait until then....I keep feeling like an achy feeling at the bottom of my tummy. Not sure what it is...thinking it's the progesterone as I know AF is no where in sight! I remember reading all the 2ww board a few years ago..saying these ladies are so lucky at least they have something to wait on! Boy was I wrong in a sense....I'm waiting but the wait to becoming pure torture! I haven't been sleeping much since I started stimming....well I have been sleeping but waking up several times at night! What makes it worse is I can't even take any Tylenol PM as I'm worried it might to damage
