Hi everyone,

I am writing on this thread for the first time, although I read the posts very regularly. It has been very helpfull. I've never found so much real information from real people from any other sources!! I was totally in dark when I started the treatment in 2006. And couldn't share. That's why my Gyn was able to keep me on clomid for 18 months!!

I am on my 2ww from the 3rd IVF. I had 13 eggs collected, only 6 were fertilised, and to my surprise, no frosties! I had my day-5 transfer on the 17th. The blastocist was rated B. I don't know what that means.

Do you guys have any susccess story from similar graded blastocist? Last time it was A. So I'm somehow not very positive this time. I really want to be.

Am I supposed to have any symptoms during this period?

All the bests to you all. And thanks again for the posts.

Love

Nidni:
Welcome to our site. I can't help you on the embie grading, as I never got pregnant with my IVF's. I got pregnant naturally after having 2 rounds of IVF. I am currently doing a round of Femara and just had my IUI yesterday.

Ladies:
Thanks so much for your encouraging words and support. My IUI went well yesterday. My Ob/Gyn said that my cervix was open and there was fertile cervical mucous so it was perfect timing. Of course DH and I will try fertilization the old fashioned way today for good measure :).
If I do not get pregnant this time, I may do one more round of Femara and then onto Gonal-f. I always responded well to Gonal-f. I'm trying to minimize the cost of my cycles. It is all of the monitoring that is so darn expensive. The IUI was $459.00 and an ultrasound is $300! I know this sound cheap when you are looking at IVF, but DH and I have already spend more than $30,000 on infertility and I'm trying to minimize the expenses of my subsequent cycles. Of course, I could minimize the costs by not doing IUI. The doctor said that it is supposed to increase your chances of conceiving by 10%.

Tracy: How are you doing? Have fun in Florida. We are supposed to go to Chicago for Memorial Day weekend, but Andrew has been sick, so we don't know if we will go or not. Keep us posted!

Catharine: Are you going to try for baby #2?

Well I'd better get off for now.

Take care all,
Tammy

Tammy, baby dust to you !! I am in Chicago and just warning you they are predicting rain for Monday. But, there are a lot of things to do indoors.

Nidhi - Welcome to the board. I am assuming that you RE grades A, B, C, etc. A being the best. Don't worry about having B's. My 1st PG was with a B grading (I only had 2 B's and 1 C). So it can happen. Last time I had 2 A's and did NOT get PG. So the grading is an indicator - but NOT the final say. IMO - the chromosones' health are more important then grading. If the egg has healthy chromosones then it can survive (regardless of the grading), where is there is a chromosone abnormality - there is no way it will survive. Also, you made it to a 5 day transfer - that is great. Most of older folks can't do that since we don't have the quality or quantity to risk it. You are already 1 step ahead. So keep up the PMA - a B grading is great !! and you are now PUPO !!

Everyone else - keep those postings going. Love to hear from everyone.

Hi Tammy, all the best for this IUI cycle. Waiting for some good news. Take care.

Tracy, thanks. Felt good. I am having my BT on Thursday, too. Lets hope that it is going to be our lucky day. Enjoy your tour.

Hi,

I have a visit from AF! So, guess its over for this cycle, although I have to go to the BT this Thursday. Somehow I'm learning to cope with the shock. I must say being in this board really helps. From here I found that people are having disappointing results, but sooner or later overcoming the odds by taking it easy. Thanks to all for sharing. I used to think - its just me, and that was killing me!

I am taking a break for 3 months. I want to try chinese meds during this time. Anyone has any opinion or experience about this? I initiated a tread just today about this. Pls let me know what you guys think. I am a bit confused as my RE is not happy with it.

Tracy and Tammy, finger crossed for you. All the best.

Nidni: I'm so sorry to hear that "the hag" visited you. It is very disappointing. I don't think that i'm pregnant either, as I've had some browish spotting yesterday. That was day 17, way too early for implantation bleeding. I've been having trouble with mid-cycle spotting, so this cycle seems like any other. I will probably do another Femara cycle and then 1 or 2 Gonal-f cycles. After that I will probably call it quits.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi ladies,

Have any of you confirmed it is indeed a BFN cycle this time? I hope you are both wrong!

Nidhi,

You are trying natural during the 3 m break, right?

Tammy,

It's great altitude that you have. I believe acceptance is the best for reaching your goals. How is Andrew lately?

Yasmina,

Yes, I have the blood test results, its BFN! Needed more luck.

I'll keep trying. At the same time, I'm planning to take some chinese meds.

Do you guys have any opinion about chinese meds?

Best.

Nidhi: So sorry to hear about your BFN. I don't know anything about chinese meds.

Yasmina: Andrew is doing well. I called the dr. and got a prog. supp. It has stopped the mid-cycle spotting, as I only had it for 3 days. I will be
able to take a HPT next Friday. I'm not planning to have a blood test unless I get a positive HPT.

Take care all,
Tammy

Nidhi,

Sorry for the news. I am from China but I have not tried Chinese traditional medicine because I was already 43 by the time that I really wanted children. I mean I did not have the time. IVF to us was straight forward, although costly. However, if I was younger and could find a good Dr. who knew Chinese Traditional Medicine, I would probably have given it a try. In fact, my uncle was one of such drs but he passed away years ago. Too late for me. Good luck to you though!

Tammy,

I hope progesterone supp. works for you. Next Friday will be here soon and I will remember to check back for your result.

Sabi,

Where are you in your cycle?

Tracy,

Are you pregnant yet, when you will know?

Catharine,

Ready for another round of ivf?

Everyone else here, happy Friday!

Hi ladies!
I have an update: June 2nd I will reduce Lupron to 5cc & start taking Estrace 3x's a day. My ultrasound will be June 11th. I'm not sure what happens after that. They give me instructions piece meal. remember, I am dealing with a donor so they need to coordinate both of us. The broker said the donor is tentatively scheduled for retrieval around 6/6-6/10 so I'll be 5 days after that(tentatively) oh boy. I've been a wreck lately. I can't figure out if it's the Lupron or I'm just plain scared. I've been so calm & cheery up until recently. Must be all hitting me. Busy weekend recording final grades for report cards.
Any good plans ladies? Any words of wisdom for a first time IVF'er? Hang in their right? Thinking of all of you & wishing babydust to all of us!

Sabi: Good to hear that things are progressing for you. Don't worry. The shots and ER are the worst part of an IVF so with a donor cycle it will be like a frozen cycle where you just do ET. With my frozen cycle it went very smoothly.

Tracy: Any news?

Take care all,
Tammy

Thanks Tammy. Appreciate the feedback. Just feel a little "put out" lately. IVF is a tough route. I'm grateful that it is an option- don't get me wrong, but I had no idea.......

Hope you are having a great weekend! Doing grades today, what fun!
