hi girls,

Thers quite a few posts since I was last here, so nice to hear everyones news.

I have just bought a starter pack of 'tots bots' reusable nappies, they are so cute and fluffy. they are 'bamboozles' (made from bamboo!) I really hope that I get on with them well, to do my bit for the environment but also they will save a great deal of money in the long term. Is anyone else using reusable nappies? I realise for you twin carriers this probably isn't the most practical option.

Woodcliff: I have been using acupuncture since trying to conceive and usually go around once per month, perhaps that is why I have had such an easy time during this pregnancy...who knows!?!

I had a one to one yoga session today, oh it was so good, I used to do it regularly until about a year ago, anyway, my teacher has adjusted the moves to suit pregnancy and my baby was moving like mad afterwards...I think he/she liked it. I am so concerned that my pelvis won't be wide enough for the birth,so really want to increase the flexibily there.

Croella: When I first found out I was pregnant, I was sprouting facial hair and was concerned I was turning into a man, but that has all disappeared now, my skin, nails and hair and all lovely at the moment.

Cocoa: Oh, peeing! until a couple of weeks ago, it just happened when I sneezed or coughed, but the other day, I stood up from dealing with a client, and I was wet!!!! I didn't even realise I had leaked! Luckily I only live 45 seconds from where I work, so a quick change, I'm going to get panty liners sorted out, its too embarrassing!

Hayley: Have you done your belly cast yet? If so, how did it turn out, I'm tempted to get one myself, I've seen one in a clients house done in bronze which was really cool, the only ones I can find though are the plaster cast ones...let me know how it goes!

I'm hoping to work until 2 weeks before my due date, although its getting more awkward bending to deal with my patients, I have a good chair which lifts them up in the air, but I am going to start allowing extra time for seeing each client, (maybe I should consider getting a hoist to help me out of my chair too)

So much for taking things easier, I did a dinner party for 10 people last weekend, my god that was exhausting, but everything went really well, the food and company were good, and the guests saw I was having problems with my back and did all the washing up...how cheeky of me is that!!!

Anyway, I must go, my grandmother was taken into hospital last night, so I need to go and visit her, she will be in until Monday when they will do scans, they think it is a Pancreas/Gallbladder or liver problem, she's 84 years old, but a spritely thing, so hopefully will be up on her feet again in no time.

Love to you all, look after yourselves.

Mandy

HI Ladies:

Checking in... I am so huge that I am really beginning to wonder how much longer I will be able to keep up the f/t working pace. Some days I feel fine and others (like the past 3 days in a row) I feel huge and full of pressure and unable to get myself moving (literally). I really get scared I might go into early labor I feel so bad... I just want the next 3 to 4 weeks to be at work so I can get my substitutes ready to take over for a bit. I really don't think that people realize how different a twin pregnancy is and how age makes a difference too... I have never been that big in the first place so being big like this SO SOON is weird. I have so much left to do too...

Ok, let's see... I feel like I have to pee ALL THE TIME! I get hungry at times but everytime I eat something I suffer from what feels like bloat (very uncomfortable). I am trying to eat as much fiber as I can when I eat my meals (celery and carrot salads) which has totally eliminated constipation :D !

This morning I woke up with swollen hands and face along with my tree stump legs :? . Don't know what to think except to say I had a hamburger at a restaurant (along with salad) last night and maybe they put msg or too much salt in it (didn't taste salty though). My body just reacts to the weirdest things.

Yes, sometimes I have wet panties (esp when I feel the urgency) and the urge to pee seems to be non-stop. I actually keep myself from drinkng during the day for hours so that I don't have to search for a toilet and I know that is not good. If I had a sit down job maybe it wouldn't be so bad but my job is "out in the field" so I have to visit many locations throughout the week which presents a problem with this peeing thing. I have to be careful not to compare MY pregnancy with anyone else's (twin or not) because of my circumstances...

OK, here's the ? of the week... for those of you who know you are having a boy are you going to circumcise? My son is and I fully plan to do so with this baby boy BUT I have heard many others disagree with this practice. What do ya'll think?

love you...

Poor you cocoa, it sounds like you're having a tough old time over the last few days. You are so right in that people don't have the faintest idea that carrying two babies is so much harder on the body than one - we should all get T shirts printed saying "yes, I'm having two - that means twice the work, twice the symptoms, now back off!" I'm a little bit behind you but this last week has been a killer for me too - I've just been so tired but unable to get a good nights sleep in.

On the subject of circumcisism, me and the DH are both British and it's practically unheard of over there so if we have boys or one of the twins is a boy then we are leaving him intact. I actually didn't realise until recently that it is routine to get it snipped over here - people tell me it's for hygiene reasons but I don't hear of many UK cases of it dropping off so not sure I fully understand!

We had our doctors appnt last week and baby b is 23% smaller than baby A which is apprently over the limit the like. If baby b hasn't caught up by THursday (which is our next scan) then she will put me on modified bed rest until s/he catches up. I'm trying not to worry but would be very disappointed if I had to stop work and be confined to the house this early on. I am rubbish as being by myself!

I cleaned out my fridge this week and found two full boxes of Follistim, sub consciously I was hanging on to it as I didn't want to jinx anything. I would like to try and donate it to someone who needs it as it's so bl*@dy expensive.... what did you ladies do with your spare drugs?

Thinking of going to look at car seats today - been advised that the Britax Companion are good ones for small babies as unlike most car seats they are suitable for 4lb babies.... have to acknowledge that the twins may be on the small side so want to be safe. They also fit the snap n' go which is a benefit. The only downside is teh cost $200 each - have you ladies found any other alternatives? we haven't bought anything yet as I wanted to get to 28 weeks first but with modified bed rest being threatened we may need to get a wriggle on.

have a good Sunday everyone

Hey WC...

I hear ya babe... I am sad to say I am an 'A' type personality and an organizer... Ugh! I hate that about myself... I would probably go totally nuts at home!!! Financially it will be cutting it REAL close if I go out at the end of this week. I also have the problem (albiet in my own mind right?!) that we finally have a new supervisor who came in on Jan 2nd and she's wonderful but besides that she is getting to know us all and I want her know my work a little before I go out. Also, we have a huge profressional development day coming up on Feb 7th and I am one of the lead team people putting together one of the trainings so I need at least this week to get my team up-to-date... Besides all THOSE lame reasons - I don't even want to mention the assessments I have to complete in 8 classrooms!!! I really wanted to get to 30 weeks (but really would love to have had the option of 34 weeks since our trainers are coming in to continue to train US in March but whatever) but now I am looking at stopping Feb 8th at 28+ (the day after the professional development day). If I am blessed to get to that timeline I will be in better shape financially and its really only 14 more work days... I feel like the little engine that could "I think I can..." :o

Rebecca - I am sure you have SOOO much rolling around in your head since your last U/S hon... I cannot imagine the "wait and see" since SOOO very much of ALL this process has been "wait and see". Even getting to viability... I totally understand keeping the follistim and not buying anything until 28w. I am almost to 26 and I am STILL waiting before I buy anything. Even if you have to go on modified best rest it is really only for a relatively VERY short period of time and its for the health of your babies!!! I haven't been given any news that there are any concerns and my only reason for going out at 28w is that I cannot sleep, get comfortable and at times feel really awful...the babies are great!!! (of course... the little parasites :P )

I will just have to be sure that I mention my swellin gto my OB tomorrow AND my hair falling out!!! I cannot believe how much hair I have in my hand when I wash it!!! Pregnancy is proven to give you thick beautiful hair and my pregnancy with my son DID just that but not this one! I just hope its not an indicator that my hormones are screwy...

I guess circumcision is just a personal preference in this day and age... all that I have heard has not indicated that there are problems if a boy is not yet the one "argument" for it is that if in very old age a man cannot care for himself anymore then they can be prone to infection due to lack of cleaning but I don't know how often that would happen either...

OK, I ordered pizza and since today is Sunday we are having a quiet day so I will check in later...

Hi everyone just a quickie as I'm shattered today - been out looking at big cars all weekend!

Mandy - not done the bellycast yet I as I don't think I'm really "huge" yet, just reassuringly large! I'll probably do it at about 28-30 weeks, so not too long!

Pee - yeah. I sneezed really hard yesterday and a bit came out. How embarrassing!!!!

Love,
Hayley xx

Hello Ladies,
I have a question. Does your baby(s) move around a lot? Mine woke up last night at about 3am and was kicking like a maniac until 7 am,I couldn't sleep at all, then slowed down and now she is doing it again!!! I mean it hurts and I was so scared that I was having contractions last night, I don't know how to differentiate them!!!
I am 25 and a half weeks, so is that when they start going crazy in there? I 've read the book "what to expect when you are expecting" but they don't say much about movement in there...
Thank you,
Vlada :)
