muggsey: Yay for your last BCP!! You are one step closer!! It only took a few days to get AF after stopping my BCP's last cycle.

biddy: 11 follies is actually very good! It may not seem like a lot, but trust me, that is about average! Good luck!

JDC: When my embryologist called me 5 days after 3DT to let me know how my remaining embies were doing, he said my embies should be implaniting then. So I'm thinking day 5 is right. You will know soon!

Valerie: Is the BIL gone? DId you get your meds?

As for me, I decided to go buy new non-digital HPT's yesterday, I peed in a cup this morning, and used 2 different brand tests, and got a BFP!!! I was so excited!! My DH is now cautiously excited, and wants to wait till the beta to get too excited. But I'm ecstatic! Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful day!! Sending baby dust your way!

ER was today. Turns out i had about 20 follies and out of that I only got 8 eggs. I am hoping for the best. Well guys I am going to go rest.

biddy - That sounds pretty good for one ovary. I have both ovaries, but my left on is so high up they can't retrieve any eggs from it. They couldn't even find it for my last u/s So try to keep the PMA.

Well, I go in tomorrow for u/s and b/w. Hopefully they will tell me to start stimming on Friday. It is getting so close!!

Okay I have a question for those of you that have done BCP then go onto stims? I took my last pill today and now will wait on my cycle to start. How many days after your cycle starts will you start stims? I ask my nurse today if i needed to call when I started my cycle she said well just for them to chart but I had an appointment for monday for an u/s and b/w. She didnt even say anything about when i would start my stims. I guess she will call me Monday and let me know. My estimiated ER and ET is between Aug. 20 - 25. Sometimes I just wished they would tell you things(LOL). I hate hurrying up and waiting(hehe). If you ladies could help, I would greatly appreciate it.

muggsey24 - I was on BCP and lupron at the same time for 3 days, my period started a couple days later and I started my stims about 4 days after my period started. While I was just on BCP I had a meeting with the IVF nurse and they gave me my calender and all the meds so I knew exactly when to take everything all the way up to 1st beta.



I had my ER today. Everything went smooth. 18 eggs total (not sure how many are mature and stuff yet). Very minimal pain/cramping which is nice. They are shooting for a 5day transfer right now but will wait and see how they develop to know for sure.

Hi Renee:

My AF started Sunday whcih was my last day on Lupron, then had my baseline US and BW yesterdayas well as started Cetrotide. Iwill Start Stimming with Gonal F on the 12th. My center gives us a clear outline of our cycle and what to expect and all meds, as long as when you have an appt all things are fine, your protocol continues as planned. I like having a claendar. I cross off everyday and each med when taken, it makes me feel I am that much closer to my ER and ET dates.

My Possible ER is 8/23 or 8/24 with a 5 day ET since I am doing PGD.

My first two IVF cycles I was on BCP for 3 weeks and then 2 weeks of Lupron before taking the stims meds.

This cycle I am not doing BCP pills just 2 weeks of Lupron before stims. If your estimated ER is 20-25 you will probably start your meds Mon-Thur next week.

I know the waiting it hard. I can't wait to start my stim meds next Monday. My ER is set for around Aug 23.

Thanks for answering my questions. I do wish my doctor would have given me a calendar with everything written out, it would make it much easier.

Amanda - I did 13 days of BCP's then go for a baseline on monday. The nurse said she would call me between 1 and 4 to let me know what to do next. It looks like our ER will be really close.

Elida - Good luck on starting stims =) Looks like Me, you and Amanda are very close to the same cycle.

alimoyni - I didnt do lupron only BCP's. I only have one ovary so they do not want to suppress me to much they said. I guess i will just go in on Monday and wait on the call from my nurse. Oh! good job on your eggies =) Cant wait to hear a report tomorrow.

jharris - when is your beta??? Congrats on your positive!!

turtlesonastump - wishing you well on your u/s and b/w tomorrow. Here's hoping you get to start your stims Friday!!

Okay, I ask my nurse today about my progesterone oil and she said she would order it after ER, does that sound right. I thought you started it right after ER to help prepare the lining for implantation? All this is so confusing!! Is there any other things that you can do to help with inplantation?? I have heard pineapples, will canned pineapples work?? Thank you ladies so much for your help! You guys are the best!!!!!

You are right about the progestrone. I always start right after ER. I already have mine. I would as the doctor again about that.

I haven't heard that about pineapples. What are the suppose to do? If they help I will go get some. LOL

Anyone else having trouble keeping a PMA? The last two days I have been a little down thinking my chances aren't that great. (Only have a 30% chance)

muggsey i have also only been on BCP's and i took my last one yesterday. Like you i have u/s & b/w on monday and thats also the day i start stims, so i would guess they will start you on Monday or Tues. As far as the progesterone ordering .... i will be using the supposotories not the injections and they arrived with the rest of my meds. I have been told to start using them immediately after ER, but if there is one thing i have learnt here its that protocols vary wildly and we are all doing either different drugs or using different timings, so all i can say is get on their back about it. I seem to never know anything unless i ask and ask and ask because they never seem to volunteer any info so i know what you mean !!!!!

ABout the pineappple .... i've read that the core is the 'best' part for implantation and canned pineapple usually has the core removed (especially in rings) because it a bit harder, so i am guessing fresh is probably better. I'm going to give it a try anyway!!!!!!

Muggsey~ I took my last bcp on Aug 2 and AF came this morning. It varies from cycle to cycle. I start stims tomorrow, unless they feel I should wait another day or so. Just saw your last post. You should start progesterone after ER. Insist with your nurse to order it now.
I'm going to eat pineapple, I've already started. Fresh would be better and the core is the part you really want to eat. I had 3 whole slices yesterday.

JDC~ Those beautiful embies of yours are just getting really snuggled in...stay relaxed and you'll be fine! I'm pulling for you as hard as I can because I really wish a BFP for you!

Rosario~ I know you had hoped for more eggs out of those 20 follies, but 8 is still a great number and I wish you a very good fertilization report! Keep us updated!

newtoivfgirl~ In the general forum, the second sticky will help you a lot to figure out all the abbreviations. When I first read these posts, I felt totally out of the loop but once you figure it out, it's pretty easy. Ask us any questions you have. That's what we are here for...and tons of support!!!

AmandaM~ Look what I wrote for Muggsey about pineapples! The PMA can be very hard to hold on to.


I've been feeling down today too...probably because AF is here. Reading your posts and writing to all of you helps me so very much. I find that by giving help and encouragement to others, it helps me be stronger as well.

I'm going in tomorrow for baseline BW and US. If everything looks great, than I start my first injection at my RE's office! I'm nervous and excited at the same time...fearful sometimes that it won't work but I have to keep that PMA going and going and going. They don't call me the energizer bunny for nothing

Much Hope~ Terrific numbers for you on that baseline!!! Wishing you the best during stims!!! My ER should be around the 21st if I stim for 12 days and ER a day and a half later!! It all depends how we respond to the meds!

I wish I could write to all of you during the day but since I'm not on the computer during the day, it's kind of hard.
Time for me to go cook and then I have to leave by 7:30 pm for a board meeting...see, it never stops!
