Randa

Just wanted to check in and see how you're doing - how close are you to EC now?

I hope that you are alright and not too uncomfortable.

Take care of yourself and big hugs and huge amounts of PMA.

Hi LittleP,
Thanks for asking. I actually feel great most of the time. Ovaries are buldging a little but that's about it. EC is tentatively Tuesday.
Oh! Big news! I have given myself 2 rounds of shots!!! My sweetie will be away all weekend and so we realized that he needed to teach me how to do it (measure, mix, needle size, yada yada). It was a snap! Who knew? I feel like such a grown up.

Good on you Girl - you're a brave person  I'm still at the cowering under a pillow stage. I'm so disappointed I can't use my auto-injector it was really simple with that

I hope that you continue smoothly and will be thinking of you on Tuesday.

Fingers crossed the Follie Fairy performs well for you.

Big hugs

Good luck on Tuesday Randa. I'll be thinking of you out there on your combine harvester.....

Jill. ET very soon? I'll be hoping for the best news possible with your blastocysts + frosties news.

BigJ. Did you take a 2nd beta yesterday? how did it go?

Kat. How are you keeping up the enthusiasm until Sept? I'm flagging and have probably only until August. It feels like forever away, I'm not enthused re. healthy eating or exercise at all.

Caroline, I'll be following your June/July thread with interest. Good luck. I used 'over-fertilisation' re. one egg having been double fertilised eg. with two sperm. They say it happens frequently. They're not viable once this has happened though.

Have I forgotten anyone???? I think I have....someone who will be turning 40 soon :!:

I'll be quieter than usual as my parents arrive for a 5 day visit and the pc is in the guest room. I'll still pop on but lengthy tomes are out ('hooray' they cry!).

Have a good weekend everyone,
Debra

Hi all

Well done Randa on doing your shots yourself! I was lucky - I used to use an autoinjector, good job too as DH is the one who hates needles...

Debra - as to enthusiasm, I suppose I am thinking of this as the time to get DH sperm as good as poss for Sept and also to get myself fit (for fit read thin) as well. One of my sisters is over here in June for a couple of weeks, the other for the whole month of July, that really only leaves August so I suppose Sept seems really close to me.

Hi everyone else too
Best go as I am at work & shouldn't be on here.....

Kat xx

Randa. I've only ever done the HCG/Ovitrelle shots myself a couple of times, other than that it's been auto-injector all the way - thank goodness.

Kat. Where is 'over here'? Where do your sisters normally live? who is it that has moved away - you or them?

Debra, thanks for the info on over-fertilisation. It's amazing what you learn on here. I had no idea so many different things could go wrong!

Jill how are the embies doing? Do you think they'll make it to blastocyst stage? I think I'm going to talk to my clinic about it again, as they were quite dismissive when I mentioned it before.

Randa I hope you have a comfortable weekend before EC - is it still scheduled for Tues?

And Kat, good luck with your DH's "sperm fitness programme" - about time some of the focus was on the boys!

hope you're all having a good day

Thanks to everyone for the queries re embris, been to the clinic today and had a good talk. It seems 6 are progressing very well and 2 a bit slower but that could all change over the weekend fingers crossed there might even be some left to freeze.

My clinic is not big on freezing as they say they are at a disadvantage to start with cos they would put the stongest 2 back anyway but to me it seems plenty of people get a +ve from frozen so i think it is wortha go what do you think?

Randa
you did make me laugh I had to do all my own shots and the first time was hillarious my neighbours must think i'm mad I was laughing squealing and talking to myself for20mins before i actually got the thing done   anyway well done it definately gets easier!! I feel like rambo now could stitch a wound with a bit of broken glass!!!! the things we have to do.... masses of luck for tuesday xxx

Caroline

Myclinic does not offer this transfer to anyone with less than 8 embris also it is a lot more labour intensive for the clinic and i don't think all clinics offer the service but they are the experts and they say it will give us a better chance so who am i to argue. I think they normally charge an extra £500 but we are getting a freebie because it wasn't given as an option till yesterday but certainly worth looking into as the success rates are quite high.

Nicola
thanks for the imput yes it is quite a dilema but i feel better having made the decision fingers crossed for you on your next cycle third time lucky eh? hope so x

thanks to everyone else will have to shoot dh is champing at the bit to go out it is such a lovely night going to have a bar meal yum

Hello Everyone,
I can't believe I'm still sneaking time to read and post when I'm drowning in wedding details. You all are too addicting!

US and blood draw again today (day 8). Total of 7 follies at this point, 3 of which are getting ripe quickly. They are moving my EC date up to Monday! My sweetie is going away for his bachelor party (flying to Phoenix w/ all his buddies). This surprise almost wrecked that, but as it turns out, he'll be back in plenty of time to "do his part". My big surprise is that I'll be giving myself the big HCG shot in the hip tomorrow night!

I go back in the a.m. for a day 9 US. Last cycle I had 12 follies by EC day, but I really doubt that will happen this time. Even though they checked for me and saw that last round I was only at 6 follies at this same time and this round I'm 7. From the start I've just not felt very "fertile" this cycle. Oh well! It only takes one right? However, mine have to make it through freeze and thaw AFTER they make through fertilization and they are sooooo old to begin with.... :(

And I swear, at every turn they ask me again "is it correct that you are doing a freeze all?" As if they want us to change our mind. I have to hold my tongue and nod yes. They just look at me like it's a mistake. Okay, okay, I know I've whined enough about this to you all. But I can't say anything to dh, so you guys get the full vent.

Hope everyone else is good and making nice progress.

BigJ - so glad you are keeping us informed, even though you are rightfully on the "other" side now. I could only dream of buying a bra like the one you describe. I'm a hopeful B cup at best.

However, I had one day where I actually had cleavage and that was a couple days after my second daughter was born. Because I worked, I opted for formula (no breastfeeding) and the shot they give you to dry up your milk was the wrong dosage or something. Anyway, my milk came down when it wasn't supposed to and there was no where for it to go (not good to try to breastfeed with that medication in you). So I got engorged. I could watch them growing! Had cleavage up to my chin within hours! Hurt soooo bad. Finally yelled for my hubby to come and help me to the phone to call the doctor. When he came into the room he was shocked to see my watermelons and said, "Hold on." I thought he was going to get a warm towel or more salve for me or something. No. He came back with the camera and this ridiculous grin on his face!!! I was furious! (He's my ex by the way)

Debra - yeah, August is a long way away, but September is even further and that's my target for getting pregnant. So yours sounds better! We can be "breaking and prepping" together this summer.
