Boomer--I agree with you. I was seen by my RE until I was 12 weeks, and then I went to my OB at 14 weeks. If I were you, I'd try to get in sooner. You're going to need some extra TLC with 3 in there! :wink:

Janine! Although the wait is driving you crazy, they are still so small and there isn't anything much to do but wait. I am currently going 1 month between my OB appointmnets and I also hate it. I would love to be there once week just to keep my mind from wondering. I bet you will be seeing your OB quite regularly sooner than later. Especially with triplets. If I get a chance I will ask my friend who has triplets what her schedule was early on.

Don't let it get you too crazy! :D Take care and enjoy it while they're still so tiny!

Take care~

Hi guys,

Just a quickie as I am like Di - tired, tired, tired. I have been having a heap of different feelings and wonder if any of you can shed any light.

In the past week I have had:

* Sharp pains across the bottom of my tummy as well as at the fundus.
* Burning sensation on my cervix.
* Mild period-like cramps.
* One very painful contraction (like a band being tightened across my lower belly lasting 30 seconds and so severe I broke out into a sweat).
* I have passed a yellowy jelly-like glob (sorry TMI)...is this my plug?
* Seem to always have damp spots in my pants...? bladder, ? not.
* Back pain.
* Very hungry.
* Tingly boobs occasionaly. I haven't had any signs in my breats all pregnancy until now.

Am I going crazy and reading too much into all these signs? Am I imagining them? Like you Laura, I have my baby shower in 2 weeks and I don't know that I will make it.

Is everyone feeling this?

Em~ sorry you are getting worried and having all these uncomfortable symptoms. I can really only relate to a few of the. The random sharp pain, period-like cramping , and the loner lasting cramp. Mine has all pretty much due to gas. My consuming so many veggies had given me gas cramps but I don't know about all your other things.
Have you called your RE? I wouldn't let it get you too upset because a lot of them sound like they are pretty normal but it would proabably make you feel better to talk to your OB.
Either way, good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon. Your on the home stretch now! Take care Em!

Em- Sorry you have had a tough week. I would definitely mention all of these things to your Dr. They could be completely normal problems of late pregnancy or signs of preterm labor. It's almost impossible to tell until they check your cervix and see if it is shortening.

My guess is these are just the normal aches and pains of late pregnancy.

* Sharp pains across the bottom of my tummy as well as at the fundus.
Probably round ligament pain. This is a time when your babies are putting on a lot of weight and your uterus is growing and stretching the ligaments
* Burning sensation on my cervix.
The babies are head down and putting pressure on your cervix
* Mild period-like cramps.
Braxton-Hicks contractions
* One very painful contraction (like a band being tightened across my lower belly lasting 30 seconds and so severe I broke out into a sweat).
Very strong Braxton-Hicks, if you get a lot like this call your Dr ASAP
* I have passed a yellowy jelly-like glob (sorry TMI)...is this my plug?
Usually when you pass your mucus plug it is pink tinged due to blood from the cervix dilating, but I would definitely ask your Dr
* Seem to always have damp spots in my pants...? bladder, ? not.
Me too! I am never sure if it's vaginal discharge or a leaky bladder. Sometime I have to change my underwear 3x day!
* Back pain.
Due to Braxton-Hicks or your tummy getting big

Try to take it easy this weekend and hopefully your Dr will tell you there's nothing to worry about. You are absolutely not allowed to have your babies before me!!!

EM--I'm experiencing many of the same symptoms as you, and we're pretty close on our tickers. Like Laura Lou said, keep your doc posted, as everyone is different.

My round ligament pain isn't necessarily long in nature, more of a tug here or there...sometimes sharp, sometimes not. I have been getting a lot more of the period like cramping, too. My cervix looked great at my U/S on Monday, so I can pretty confidently say that all's okay! I am relieved that other people feel like they're wetting their pants too! :shock: We are supposed to have more discharge in the third trimester. I also think some of mine is sweat---as it's warmer here now, and I seem to get SO HOT most of the time....plus my thighs are a bit thicker and flabbier--great heat producers. :cry:

I have read that if you're experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, try lying down on your side to see if they subside. If you have more than 5 and hour, your supposed to go contact L&D....it could be premature labor.

Take it easy!

And thanks, Laura Lou, for the great info! :)

Thanks guys.

I feeel a lot more relaxed now. Its just you read in the books a list of signs of pre-term labour and go "yep, got that, and that and.." and its difficult to know when you are supposed to take it all seriously.

I am so pleased to hear that others have the pant wetting thing as I have been so mortified to think it may be my bladder. I'm wary of leaking amniotic fluid as my friend asked me the same thing when she was 23 weeks (with one bub) and two days later she was in labour. Luckily they managed to stop it and she made it to 32 weeks and had a healthy boy, but she was leaking amniotic fluid.

Hey everyone,

It's been quiet around here! Have any babies made early arrivals? I hope you all are well.

Xrayem--Since you were concerned about preterm labor symptoms last week, I thought I'd update you on what happened to me this past week. I kept experiencing more and more of those menstrual-like cramps and was getting very uncomfortable. Then a girl at work told me that's what HER preterm labor felt like. So, I called my doc, and they told me to go home and lay down for 30 minutes. Then they called me and I told them I was still having pains. So, they had me go to L&D at the hospital. Well, to make a long story shorter, they had me on monitors for 3 hours, did some cultures, and found out everything was okay. Apparently, the weight of the babies was putting a lot of pressure on the lower part of my uterus--hence the cramps. So, now my OB has me working only 1/2 days so I can get my feet up more. I definitely felt better knowing that it wasn't preterm labor after all.

How is everyone else doing? I know some of you are getting really close to a possible delivery! I hope you all are still cooking!

Buckeyegal- I'm glad your cramps were not preterm labor. It is so hard to know.

My baby shower is tomorrow and I'm still pregnant! My blood pressure is still a little high, but doesn't seem to be getting worse. I am just so swollen. I had to go buy a pair of shoes a size bigger because I can't squeeze into my regular shoes anymore.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Hey everyone! How are all our twin mommies doing? We've all gotten a little quiet around here. Hope all is well.

Laura~ I hope you have a lovely baby shower. We want all the details of your sweet gifts for two! Sounds like you are doing well with the exception of growing feet. A girlfriend the other night who had twins 3 years ago told me to enjoy my ankles while I still had them. :( So I guess it could be worse. Good luck with it and remember to report back after your shower!

Bucheye~ Sorry to haar you landed in L&D. I'm sure you were so frightened. What a relief to know everything is alright. 1/2 days at work actually sound pretty nice to me. :D Keep those little ones cookin'.

We have had an uneventful week. Just a lot of work and early summer yard work. We have a full 1.25 acre of landscaped yard and it keeps us so busy. Already this year we have added 5 new trees and 25 new schrubs! We can't seem to ever finish because the yard is so big and next week I will pick up all my flowers from the greenhouse where they have been growing for months. Hopefully this summer won't be too hot so that I can tolerate watering all my hanging baskets and weeding the place. Thank goodness we don't mow this monster ourselves!
The babies have been growing in full force. I think I have finally started to gain weight. A hearty 6 lbs! WHOOHOOOOOO! seems like I hvae tried to eat a ton to put some weight on and than goodness it's working. Our next OB appointment is Wednesday so I'll keep you posted!

Take care everyone!

Hi guys,

Kim - sorry to hear you wound up in hospital! But good to hear that its not pre-term labour. I had my antenatal classes on the weekend and I cornered the midwife and she said that yes it could be a sign of labour but more than likely the pressure of two big heads pushing down as you were told.

Lauralou--How was your shower? Did you get some good stuff? I have a shower this weekend...I'm hoping for lots, cause we still have LOTS to get! :shock:

Kimberly--I wish I could do yard work! Bending over for any length of time seems to do me in. Good luck with getting everything done, and be careful! [BTW--My DH misses me doing yard work...I'm usually the lawn mower...but now he has to do it. He HATES doing it! :wink: ]

All's well here. I worked 1/2 day, and I came home and took a 2 hour nap! Heaven! I could handle this 1/2 day business! :)

I hope you all are doing well. It's hot here. I hope you're able to stay cool wherever you are!

Hey everyone!

Lauralou~ Details??? I'm with Buckeygal that we need to knwo how cute everything is for two! Hope you had a very sweet time celebrating these very loved bundles of joy with dear friends and family.

Buckeygal~ Speaking of showers. . .enjoy yours this weekend!!! I know gifts are great but I just the thought of everyone wishing a good life and lots of healthy days upon our little ones. We will need your details as well though! :D

I attempted some more yard work today and it didn't last very long at all. Seems like it's 150 degrees out there when it's realy like 85. :? DH could care less what I really do out there and thank goodness we are interviewing new landscapers today and tomorrow. Our current one has gone to the dogs and we are jsut tired of asking him to do it right. To mow and trim our yard would take us about 5 hours every week so we do not even attempt to do it ourselves anymore.

Had to purchase some new clothes today. Found some great breezy linen capris with elastic waist bands at Old Navy for $16 each! They are really cute and cozy. Highly suggest them to anyone who is rapidly growing! :D

Have a great night girls. I'm off to BBQ our dinner and call it a day!

Take care~
