Hello Girls,

Hope you are all feeling better today.

Vicky - I am so sorry to hear your news. :( You have been in my thoughts and prayers. It is good that the Doc has advised you to have some tests. The main thing is you can get pregnant. Please take as much time as you like to recover and I am sure you will be a wonderful mum soom. Don't ever lose hope !

Laura - It was funny to read that your babies are already kicking each other. I am glad all is well.

JSM7502- Welcome! BIG Congrats on the twins!

Cowgirl - I hope all is well with you. I am sure everything would be fine with the HBs. Reading through some if the posts, it seems quite normal. It may be best to speak to your Doc so that you can put your mind at ease.

Colleen--Hope your BP is better.

Tasha--Glad you're feeling better.

Nance--Glad to hear that you are completing your 1st trimester. Congrats.

As for me, I am going for my 1st scan tomorrow and I am so excited. :) My bleeding stopped last Friday but I have slight spotting on and off since yesterday. This was a worry but the more I read, it seems normal. I shall clarify with my Doc tomorrow as well.

Did any of you continue with progesterone (CYCLOGEST) two times a day and also have Progynova (OESTROGEN) 2 mg -3 times a day until your first scan ? Please advise. I am wondering whether the bleeding is caused because I am continuing this ?

Take care girls..
Love,
Sita

Sita, I feel for you and the spotting/bleeding woes! I have spotted on several occassions went to doc each time and he said it was my cervix from all the hormones and not to worry!

As for me I finally got a call from the Doc about my US last week. She of course told me not to worry that as the placenta takes over and all the organs are developed FHR decreases. Just like many have said. :-) And that the US report said baby is right on track for 13 weeks, which is where I was last week. How much they really look at it I am not sure of because I had my nuchal scan a week and half before and was told the baby was 5 days ahead of expected size. So I feel better :-) She did tell me she was scheduling my Level II US for the 31st of January then I will be 20 weeks :-) And my next OB appt is the Jan 3 :-) There are times when it seems to be going SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Slow and then times when it seems to be flying.

Take care everyone and Happy Holidays

Hello everyone--

I know it's been awhile---been fighting some awful morning sickness---or shall we say all day sickness

Anyway---wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to Vicky---I am so sorry.

Still trooping along---almost 8 weeks. Have my first OB appointment on the 26th---can't wait. They thought I might be at risk for diabetes---but had a horrible test yesterday---4 hours long!! Results came back good----happy about that.

You are all in my thoughts---I keep up with how you are all doing :D

Happy Holidays!
Keeping the faith!

Hola Chickadees!

M'BA--I feel your pain about the all day sickies. I still get it on most days. I hope it ends soon! Peppermints seem to help me. Don't know why! :o Glad your diabetes test turned out okay.

cowgirl--It's about time they got back to you! That wait seems ridiulous if you ask me. Hopefully they won't take so long next time.

Sita--I'm glad your bleeding has tapered off. I was actually on proj. injections until a few weeks ago. ..maybe 9 weeks? [However, I still have a once a week shot of Delalutin, which is projest., that's supposed to keep me from going into preterm labor. My doc wants me on it due to the fact that I'm carrying twins and I'm on the smaller side. I'll take it through 36 weeks.] I never had any of the bleeding you're mentioning, but everyone's different. I'm still on proj. suppositories, but I only have a few days left of those. Thank goodness! :? Let me know what your doc says...I'm curious!

I hope all the rest of you are well.

Vicky, how you holding up?

Hi Everyone,

I am sorry I have been missing in action the last few days I have been scrambling to get all my holiday stuff done and I had a few days off of work where I pretty much just collapsed on the couch. Even though I have not posted you have all been in my thoughts and prayers every day.

Ellie - I am sorry you are not feeling well. Good luck at your scan tomorrow I am sure it will go great.

Nicola- Good luck on your scan on Friday let us know how it goes. I hear you about the tiredness I am tired also a lot. I hope that gets better for you.

Cowgirl - I'm glad you finally heard back and that everything is going well. My next US is also not until my 20th week in February which seems like an eternity to me but I have several OB appointments before them.

Kim - I am glad you are going well. When is your next appointment?

M'BA - I am so sorry you are feeling bad hopefully in a few weeks you will start feeling a little better. I also have an appointment on the 26th with by OB hopefully it will be a lucky day for us all.

Tasha - How are you doing?

Vicky - How are you holding up. I have been praying for you every day and I hope you are doing ok.

Sita - I am glad your bleeding has gotten better. Good luck at your appointment. Let us know how it goes.

Laura - I am so happy for your wonderful test results. Congratulations on the little boys. It is so cute that they are fighting already. Do you have names picked out?

JSM7502- Welcome and congratulations! I hope you have a very easy and healthy pregnancy.

Colleen - How did your Dr's appointment go?

Angellica - How are you doing?

I hope I did not forget anyone if I did I appologize but you are all always in my thoughts and prayers.

As for me I celebrated by 12 week mark yesterday and I went out shopping. I bought some maternity cloths and I bought the baby some books. A Child's Bible, Mother Goose Nursery Rimes, and a Collection of Bedtime Stories. I have to call today to get the results of my Nuchal scan and blood tests. I am very nervous but am staying positive for the best possible news.

Take care,
Nance

Nance Big Congrats on the 12 week mark!!!!!!!!!!!! It does seem to get a bit better as far as the worrying and tiredness. I am sure everything will be fine with your nuchal results :-) I know when I got mine it was such a relief :-) I am looking forward to getting more baby things after Christmas. I would get stuff now but Hubby is going to do some remodeling before I actually have my nursery room. :-) So space is limited right now. I will be really glad when today is over because I am off work till Tuesday and I want to get my Christmas cookies baked. Except for the food shopping everything else is pretty much done.

Hope everyone is well.

Frustrated

Post by Nance »

Hi Again Everyone,

Well, my Dr. called regarding the results of my nuchal scan/combined test and while my blood work came back good (1 in 1500), the Ultrasound has to be redone because it was done one day too early. Therefore they can not give me a result. It would have been nice if the lab told us this when we made/had the appointment but apparently they are not that bright. So now I am scrambling to get the Ultrasound done because it has to be done within the next few days or else it is too late to do the test. The test has to be done before you are 13 weeks and I am 12 weeks 1 day today and since they are closed over the weekend and for the holiday that leaves me only today and tomorrow to get it done. Arrgg! If I can't get it then the only option for me is Amnio at this point because it will also be too late for the CVS test. Oh well, I guess if there is nothing I can do there is nothing I can do but it is very frustrating.

Sorry, I just needed to vent.

I am sorry this is happening to you Nancy! That must be very agravating. And you would think that someone that schedules Nuchal scans would know the accpetable time frame, they are supposed to be the experts. It seems like even the person that did you scan should have been able to say, Hey wait a minute. Hopefully you can get your scan done but even 1 in 1500 is pretty good. How old are you? My chances for a downs baby before the nuchal was 1 in 170 or something like that and I am going to be 38. So 1 in 1500 would even be good for me and not put me in a high risk category. So I guess alot depends on your age. :-)

Well good luck getting your appt!

Hello Ladies... I have a question for all of you. My doctor has never even mentioned a Nuchal Scan or a CVS Scan... should I be worried about this? He did mention amnio the last time we were there and told us we had a month to think about it. So I have to give him my answer next week Tuesday when we go in. I'm just curious if this is something I should bring up to him....

Thanks,
Tasha

Thook, I guess it all depends on if you are at risk for a genitic defect, wheather it is because of age, familiy history or even FSH level in IVF pretesting. You are past the point where they can do a nuchal scan, it has to be done by the 13 week, but I would have thought that if you doctor is recommending genetic testing he would have mentioned a nuchal scan. Nuchal and CVS Scans are less invasive means for screening who should have advanced genetic testing like an amnio. I know Nuchal's are relitevely new to the US but they have been done in Europe for many years with pretty acurate results. Maybe your OB is old fashioned and does it the old way (aminio) or is more if we are going to do genetic testing lets be 100% certain and do the aminio which is that accurate instead of pre screening. If I were you I would at least ask why he didn't mention the nuchal scan.

Have you decided on the aminio yet? My sister had one done on all three of her girls she had over 35 and they all came out clean, but one of the girls does have a birth mark where the needle touched her. You could see her kick when the needle got in the area of her leg and she just so happens to have a birth mark in that particular location. The doc said the amino couldn't cause it but neither of us have birth marks and none of her other girsl did and they seen the baby kick right were the needle was. Coincedence maybe but I think now.

Take care and good luck with your decision. I hear the amnio does not run the risk of misscarriage like they had originally thought.
