Ladies: Thanks for your thoughtful words. AF came full force this AM. I'm looking forward to getting away with DH and DS on a vacation starting next Wed.

Rhonda: I'm not sure that I have vertigo. The Dr. just did not know what else it could be. I'm leaning towards some sinus problems.

Yasmina: The photos of your children were adorable.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi Everyone,
I just learned about this post and it seems it is more fitting as I am almost 41. Hope it's okay to crash. My husband had a double hernia as a child and they damaged both tubes beyond repair. We married at 35 so we didn't know until we tried for a few years. Last year he had surgery, but no success. I seem to be fine although they only retrieved 3 eggs and only 2 fertilized. We did ICSI and this is our 1st ivf. I am at my 2ww with Aug. 11 as my BETA. I am looking forward to reading some success stories! I am feeling very down right now, so any support would help. I have no symptons ( except for irritability from the progesterone) so I don't know what to think!

teachertam- i remember you from the July/Aug thread and wondered where you went. So sorry to hear that it didn't work out this time. Keep the faith and stay positive. Relax and enjoy some time off.

Take care!
-sunny :)

New to IVF

Hello everyone,

I just found this site and the over 40 thread, which is great! My husband and I are both 42 and in the middle of our first IVF cycle (on the stimulation drugs waiting to be told when to take the trigger shot). We've been TTC for about 1.5 years now and I have been treated for endometriosis. Neither of us have any children and are very hopeful and anxious that this will work.

It does help to hear about everyone's experiences and the reality of what we're facing at this age.

Best of luck to you all!

Tammy,

So sorry about this last try. The vacation with DH sounds great and will give you both some YOU time. My heart breaks for you. I hope you both find a peace with this. Praying for a miracle! I had vertigo 12 years ago and it was horrible - made me sick and couldn't drive for a few weeks. Lasted several months, went through lots of testing and it went away as mysterious and it came. Hope yours is not too bad and goes away quickly.

Welcome Sunny, hope your 2ww goes by quickly. It seems an eternity.
You and all the others on this thread are in my prayers for success.

Renee, hope your move is getting better. I have lived in one city all my life and couldn't imagine making the kind of adjustments that you are going through. New neighborhood, new house, new friends - hope you have something old and comforting to hold on to during this stressful time. Does Hawaii not have an RE?

Rhonda, glad to hear the baby turned. It sounds like you and Dr. have a plan now. I hope your 4 weeks goes by in no time and you stay comfortable.

Matt 6:34, Don't know anything on DHEA. I am using the Lupron, but very different from you. I am trying to suppress ovulation, and build up my lining to receive donor egg.

This has been a dreadful week. My brother-in-law (48) passed away last Thursday after struggling 3 long years with luekemia. We live next door to each other and are very close. It has been so stressful.

Hi everyone,
went to doc today. I am not dilated but she said the cervix is soft. she had set my induction for Sept. 1st. i was hoping sooner, but I guess it's best. I cannot remember exactly what soft cervix means. Does it mean that is a good indication labor may begin on its own? However, she said my cervix is still posterior. I have forgotten what all of this means since it has been over 15 years since i had a baby. im just so ready. I am so miserable. I feel guilty at times for talking about being pregnant on this board because of the struggles that some of you are having. I sinceraly hope that i dont offend anyone on this board. It's just that i have been talking with you guys for over 9 months and i enjoy sharing and hearing your stories as well. take care.

Greetinngs ladies :D

Rhonda-I know what you mean w/r/t posts. Hang in there girl. You're nearly there and soon you'll get to meet that precious bundle of joy. I'm so happy for you. Since I had a c-section, I'm in the same boat as you on the definitions. But if I recall correctly, you are progressing towards labor. Your cervix has to soften [or ripen] before it can dialate. Maybe next week you will have dialated a wee bit. Have you had any contractions? I hope you are not like me. I didn't feel the contractions and when I went in for the c-section I was fully dialated. Doc was amazed. DD hadn't moved down the birth canal so the delivery crew did not have troubles extracting her  I'll be saying prayers for you over these next few weeks: for a stress free smooth delivery.

Matt 6:34-I can tell you I used DHEA at 50mg daily dose. I was on a manapur/bravell cycle. I also was doing acupuncture and trying to eat a low processed organic diet, if that means anything to you. The thought was to limit the DNA damage of the dusty eggs. This treatment is still debated as to whether DHEA is helpfull or not. I was on DHEA for other reasons leading up to my cycle and the RE didn't see any reason to stop if it may help. We both felt it certainly wouldn't hurt. I posted a more detailed experience under parents after treatment topic DHEA which might be of more help. Wishing you the very best on your journey.

Jillybean-welcome. sending you out some PMA and some Baby dust!

Sunny-welcome. Thinking of you. fingers crossed with the baby dust!

To everyone else I missed hey there, and hope everyone is doing well.

Cheers!

omg. under the general forum there is a really bad thing on there. I clicked on it and a porn picture popped up. I cant believe that. How do you report that and get it off of there. Thats just horrible that someone would do that.

Greetings!
How's everyone doing?

All is well here. There hasn't been much activity on this board and wanted to check in to make sure everyone is doing well.

Rhonda-has your DD arrived? looking forward to hearing the news.

AFM-we are still trying to conceive naturally. I've been using the ovulation sticks, which seem to have doubled in price :? unfortunately, either I'm not ovulating, or the sticks are not sensative enough, or my LH surge is too low for detection :( the latter the most likely. Now the question is how much do we want another child and sibling for DD? We have new insurance and the coverage is vague at best. We are no longer in a position to fund a cycle on our own. Decisions decisions. On a more positive note, DD continues to do well.

A big hello to everyone and hope to hear from ya'll soon.

Catherine,
Good to hear from you. I just had 3 5-day full blasts implanted this am. One
was an "A" and 2 were "B"s. This is our last try, so I pray this is God's will and
I get preg this time. I am trying to post on my Blackberry phone, so this may
be a mess.

Haven't heard from anyone in a while, hope everyone is okay.

I'm on complete bedrest until Saturday and go back for my preg test on 9/3/09.

Take care all,
Kim

Kim,

good luck and will check back at your test day. Happy waiting!

Catharine,

I bought some cheap and sensitive ovulation test sticks from http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com. But as you know, I was not pregnant naturally. But I was told monitoring by cervical secretion and basic body temp are the best methods by this book: http://www.amazon.com/Taking-Charge-You ... 0060950536

Good luck.
