hey ladies!

sorry it took so long to check in; had to sleep off the anesthesia. long story short, i had about 2 liters of fluid in my abdominal cavity. for ladies who don't know, this is OHSS. HCG triggers the ovaries to release fluid from the follicles that were produced while stimming. the fluid fills up your abdominal cavity and can be fatal if not carefully monitored. i had OHSS after ER but it went away after a week of taking cabergoline and the HCG from the trigger shot wore off. after ER those follicles are still there. so, in theory if the embryos implant after ET, HCG is naturally produced and that triggers those follicles to release fluid again. in order to drain the fluid, they went in through my vagina and into my pelvic cavity, completely avoiding the uterus (in case i am pg) and drained the fluid. i felt better immediately. but my abdomen can fill again . even though it is intensely uncomfortable, it is not necessarily painful and i hope it does mean i'm pregnant. still have no specific date for beta. i think i'm just going to go in one day next week when i'm feeling courageous.

Same symptoms for me . . . tired, cramping, and a little discharge =) Last time I had a lot of symptoms and got a BFN . . . figured it all must have been from the PIO shots . . . I'm a little gun-shy this time around . . . No Hpt's for me this time . . . gonna wait for for my BETA this time . . . but it's cool that we have similar symptoms =) Keep me posted =)

Good Morning Ladies. SOrry I didnt check in yesterday, I stayed home with DH. I was sooo exhausted and emotional. I am back at work today cuz I need to finish whatever I have to do, cuz I will be off Sat & Sun plus I have Monday off for Labor Day. And I may be having my FET on Tuesday. The nurse is supposed to call me today. I missed her call yesterday, so she just left me instructions for my meds on my VM. But I need to talk to her today for further instructions. It sounded like I will be starting POI on saturday.

Welcome to the newbies; Tonya and Claud and anyone else I forgot. I apologize for slacking on personals.... I am trying to catch up. It is hard not having my Computer at home.

DTAO.... Congrats on being the first on the forum. Good Luck with your numbers today that they triple. Hope u have a H&H PG.

mjay... Yes, that is exactly OHSS. Glad it went well. But I did read somewhere that PG can trigger it to come back. I hope this is a good sign, but I hoep the OHSS doesnt come back. So did u POAS hun? DOd u plan on it? Good Luck hun.... go get tested!!! We r dying to know.

mjay, so glad you are feeling better. I've started to think I have the same thing going on but didn't have any issues before now so my Doc doesn't think I do, but I insisted when I go in for my blood test today they do an ultrasound to check. They did say the same thing that HCG can trigger with a positive and cause fluid, but they think I'm fine. At this point, I know my body so well I know something is off! Will keep you posted. BUT so glad to hear you are feeling better!!!!

All keep your fingers crossed, I go in for my Beta#1 today as well. This round I feel so different so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've had the cramping, backaches and no spotting and have held of POAS so I'm hoping for good results!

Hello Ladies,

Just wanted to give you a quick update. The nurse called me this am I and going in tomorrow morning at 8:15 for my ET. I have 2 4 cell, 2 3 cell and 1 2 cell. I was trying to do some research and they say that by day 2 they should be between 2-4 cell. I'm assuming that they'll put back the 2 4 cells. IDK, what do you ladies think? I'm a nervous reck right now. I don't know how I'm supposed to make it through my work day. I've manage to do nothing work related, exect 1 meeting, all day. I won't find out what grade they are until tomorrow morning.

Pray for me girls. GL to all the ladies getting their beta's today. Ok, I gotta go. TTYL!!

Johannanita - good luck tomorrow! I'll be praying for you and your little embies! I would assume that they will transfer the best looking embies.
In regards to the acupuncture, I'm not sure which points the acupuncturist should avoid. I will go before my transfer and after but I go to an acupuncturist who only deals with fertility acupuncture. I would ask your acupuncturist familiar he or she is with the points that should be avoided in pregancy.

kristy - have you already gone in for your beta yet? When should you hear back? I'm rooting for you. This thread has good BFP vibes already and I'm sure you'll bring us our second BFP!

AFM, not much new. Just plugging along and waiting till the 12th. I am going in for acupuncture again this afternoon and on Sunday. I hope to get in one more time during the week and then hopefully the day of transfer both before and after.

Does anyone have any exciting plans for the holiday weekend?

Hello again ladies... Well, I just got the call from RE. My FET is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10th at 2:00pm. Yipee!!! I stay on my meds but start POI tomorrow. So now I just wait and pray that my frosty makes the thaw.

wolffie... thanks for asking. Yeah Im doing alright now. Just so tired, but now excited as well. So how is AP working out for you? If this tranfer doesnt work for me, then I may try it before next cycle. Does your INs cover it?

Thanks for the well wishes. At least I know I'm not crazy now. He did say I had fluid around my ovaries but he called it mild and since I haven't had any weight gain (actually lost 2 pounds), he just wants to keep me on fluid restriction (1 liter a day) and to let him know if it gets worse. If all is good with my Beta today, I go back on Sun and they will re-weigh me to see if there is anything different. He's not concerned and says this is often normal with the HCG levels increasing, hopefully all indicating a postive pregnancy.

I should hear from them in the next two hours with the results. Keeping fingers crossed but I feel so different this cycle, it just has to be good news. Right!!

johananitta - good luck with your ET. Are you on a 2 day or 3 day? I can't remember what you said. II would definitely think those numbers are normal. My last cycle at day 3 I had 1 6cell and 1 8cell. This time I had 4 total and again, around day 3 they were in the 6-8, so I think yours are pretty right on target.

Well I just typed up this whole long email and the website died on me. I wasn't crazy and do have fluid around the ovaries but he says it's not enough to worry about right now but I'm supposed to just keep monitoring it AND when I go back in for my second beta on Sunday because I just got the news while I was typing it came back BFP!!! Yahooo!!! My number was 242. But I'm still freaked out as we need it to double of course by Sunday. Keep all of your fingers continually crossed for me.

johananitta - are you doing a 2 day or 3 day ET? my first cycle on day 3 when we transfered they were around 6-8cells, so if they are at 4 today, by tomorrow they should be continuing to multiple so don't stress yourself at all about it now! Keeping positive vibes coming your way!

Mjay- when do you go in for your beta? I'm thinking all good thoughts your way!!

Kristy - That's AWESOME!!! 242 is such a strong #. I wouldn't worry!!! How many did you have transferred? Congratulations!!! YOU'RE PREGNANT!!!!!!
