Hi everyone!

Heather, I am so excited for you. This cycle seems so much better than the past two. I know what you mean, I have also spent the whole bloody year on IVF! I am starting to feel normal again (except that AF has not started again)

Bel - I'm glad work is going really well for you. I would also be scared if I took a year off. I'm sure I would forget everything!!!

I love scary movies :D, but I always get scared in the middle of the night after I have watched one. When I do night shift (never these days - thank goodness!!!), we always end up talking about ghosts within the hospital, and other horrible things. One night we got so scared, that we had to do everything together. There were three of us. If a patient needed something, the three of us would go (we could not go in pairs, as that would leave one person alone at the nurses station!!!!!)

We had a 25 year old male patient one night who came out to the nurses station and told us that a nurse was trying to give him an injection, and she would not leave him alone. He did not want an injection. We asked him what the nurse looked like (we were confused because every nurse working was behind the nurses station). He said she had a grey dress on, with a little hat. Judging by the expression on our faces, the patient knew that something strange had just happened - and he discharged himself then and there. This 'nurse' is known to the hospital as the 'grey nurse'. About 30 years ago, a student nurse thought she had failed her final exam, and feared she would loose her nursing position. She jumped off a balcony at the hospital. In actual fact, she had passed her exam! We were so scared that night!!!!!!

I am going to say goodbye now, as I am freaking myself out

Missmolly, you!! I cannot stop laughing from fear, I am so spooked out -   . It's like 11pm here and I am the only one up in the house. You know what - I am gonna send the story off to my hubby - he should come online shortly, my goodness - I am scared now :( :( :( .

Heather - good luck tomorrow, you will do great. Sending you tons of baby dust on your way  .

Bel, my zits are still popping about and I had a bloated tummy all day yet I'm happy...... you gotta love this IVF thing ay  it makes you wiered.

I have a news for everyone, I'm going back to hubby on 5th November!! the day after my temp commitment finishes at work. :D  :D . Heather, you asked me about my folks-in-law; yes they are English and they all live in UK. They live around Nottinghamshire. So there you go, you are not noisey - you should hear silly Q's I get from people at work... "Are you now separated?", "You needed to get away from living in Japan?" , "No baby yet? not trying hard enough?".... AGH!

Cheers, Tiger

Just butting in here.....Miss Molly as I read your grey nurse story I shivered completely cold twice! Eeek!

Tiger. Do your in-laws call you 'pet' or 'duck' and 'mash' cups of tea? My father's family are from Leicestershire and I love the way they speak!

G'day to everyone else.

MissMolly, lots of weird things seem to happen where you work (that whole tv thing before was a bit freaky). I am glad you don't do night shift anymore it sounds a bit too stressful.

Tiger, less than a month and you will be back with DH..yay! I am nosey, I just find people interesting and love to hear their stories. Judging by Debra's comments, Xmas should be great for you, surrounded by warm people and cute language! Will your work x-mas party happen before you go...it would be a shame to do all the organisation and not get to enjoy it!! But, I guess, given the choice, being back with DH will be much more enjoyable.

Belinda, your first weekend after going back to work! Make sure you really enjoy it...the weather is great so it should be a blast.

Thanks ladies, all your finger (and other stuff) crossing worked wonders. We managed to get 12 eggs today which is better than our other two efforts combined. We are absolutely chuffed...as were the staff at the hosptial...they told us they won't be seeing us again! How's that for confidence. Here's hoping that we get a decent fertilisation rate and some embies left over to freeze..that would be novel. DH has just brought me home a huuuge latte and a pile of mindless magazines so I am off to bed for some reading and relaxation.

Have a great weekend....oh and although I don't want you to end up with horrific cramping or circulatory problems...can ya keep all that stuff crossed for a little bit longer?

Thanks
Heather

Hi all,

Heather, 12 eggs!!..that's fantastic..what a huge haul!!..you must be feeling really chuffed!!..enjoy your weekend of mindless magazines and lattes (I like to think that you will very soon be restricted in your latte intake as a result of pregnancy, so enjoy them while you can!!).

Tiger, so glad that you are soon to see your fabulous hubby, and how good is that that you finish your contract and then fly on out..sounds kind of romantic actually!!..Know what you mean about IVF making you wierd, I used to have really vivid dreams as a result of all the drugs, and then when I was pregnant boy I had some clangers then!!..

MissMolly, you scare then pants off me!!..your gray nurse storey had me quite freaked out..As an OT I only work during the day, but there are certain parts of the hospital that freak me out even in broad daylight!

Gotta run girls, my Boo is waking up from her afternoon sleep. We are at my parents house in Sydney for the weekend, the weather has been lovely and cool (it was 40 degrees in Brissy today!!!) and we went for a picnic at the beach today, sure made Annie sleep well!!

Catch up soon
Heather, very keen to hear your fertilisation news..

Hurray Heather - 12 eggs is fantastic - we only had three, what a great result - fingers etc etc to remain firmly crossed for the next couple of days and then for your 2ww.

Bel - sounds like you have slotted back in to work without too many dramas - its great that Johnnie is able to look after Annie when you are working - sounds like the best of both worlds.

Tiger - the time will fly until 5 November - we are moving house in mid December and it feels like we are looking backwards through a telescope - no more talk about 'when we move at the end of the year' - its more like OMG, what can we get rid of before we move, where will we put everything, and what colour is that wall going to be??? I can't believe how quickly this year has gone, it has absolutely flown by and Christmas will be upon us before we know it.

Had our monthly checkup today, all is well - heart beat sounds like this great swooshing sound (hard to describe) and miss has turned herself around into a transverse position, without me even knowing (how can you not know something like that?? I mean, I know there is a BIT of padding, but not that much...).

DD and I have the weekend to ourselves, the lads have gone camping (despite the weather predicting hail and thunder), and in a moment of weakness I promised to go and see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I don't mind Johnny Depp, but the ads are really creepy, so we shall see.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, good luck Heather!!!!

Thanks again ladies.

Josie, I agree, amazing that the baby can turn around and you can't feel it!! Good to hear that everything is going so well. I hope you had a lovely girly weekend and that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wasn't too scary...I love Jonny Depp.

Belinda, hope you had a great time in Sydney and that Annie enjoyed being spoiled rotten by her grandparents!

Tiger, still counting down those days with you!! The time always seems to fly just before X-mas so hopefully it won't seem like too long before you are back together. How are the zits going....getting worse, better?

MissMolly, hope you had a great weekend with nothing too weird happening at work.

Well, we ended up with 5 embryos. 1 egg was rubbish, 1 didn't survive the ICSI process and 5 didn't fertilise (not sure why). We had two put back yesterday and the remaining three will be frozen today. We are really happy to have some to freeze and I am still feeling pretty positive. Test date is 24 October but we can HPT from 21 October.

Better get my butt ready for work I guess...have a great week!!

Cheers
Heather

Oh Heather - I am ecstatic for you and your DH!!!! feels like I've been up to the moon and back, that is just FANTASTIC :). 5 embies!!!! not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 but 5! and oh yea , I still have my everything firmly crossed for you. Pls take it easy next 2 weeks, I hope that time will fly for you and hubby too. I am sure it will - as for my hubby and I - we only have another 26 sleeps to go.

Debra, HIYA! My in-laws? yea they say cute things like that sometimes? Do they call me a duck? I am not sure - I think they call me a dag instead?... .

Bel, I hope you are well and truly back into work thing by now, how was it today? I am actually starting to wind down already with mine; they won't have me this time next month  . I do have an option to return in Feb next year for 3weeks and then 2 weeks off and then another 2 weeks. Also there is a possible opening in June/July for 6-7 weeks? All depends on when I am ready to get back on the IVF train again....

Josie, you must be very busy, your bubs, moving house and going on leave..... wow - this year must be a very special one for you and your DH    . Btw, I hope you managed a quite-relaxing weekend just the two of you. I personally loved Mr. Depp in Charlie and you know where, loved the movie as well. What did you think?

I felt faint endo pain on the weekend so I am expecting AF to show this week. Good thing that it's coming but I now need to prepare myself for the pain I will no doubt endure....   .

Luv, Tiger

Post by angeleyes »

sorry long time to chat..................i have just finished my first ivf cycle and am now in the 2ww. The cycle went ok i guess, i started off with 14 follies and got 6 eggs on retreival, 5 of which fertilised. but only 3 started dividing, so we went in for transer last friday and we only had 1 (excellent quality - no framentation) emby to transfer which was fine but i really wanted some to freeze. we actually got to see them down the microscope it was so cool. the other 2 were not dividing fast enough, the one we transfered was 4 celled and the other 2 were stilll only 2 celled. so i really hope this one works.

We are staying positive, i am pretty sure it will work anyway :-)
so i dunno what to expect regarding syptoms, any help? these last 2 days i have been feelin really faintish, but i dunno if thats still from the op, just wish i knew what to look for :-)

thanks

Hey angel,
Well done and good luck for the 2ww. Well done for having such a positive attitude, easier said than done on this rollercoaster. As for signs and symptoms, I always swore I was getting af during my two 2ww's (both positive but the first ended in miscarriage). I had all of my classic signs, my skin went to pot, I got bloated and basically felt pretty crappy, so for me, these were all good signs (though they scared me quite a bit at the time). Other girls talk about feeling really tired, having sensitive breasts and/or nipples and sometimes feeling nauseous, though for me none of these signs started until I was about seven weeks pregnant I think. My advice would be keep up that positive vibe!!
