:( I think I messed up my first Menopur shot. I had to mix water with 2 Menopur powders. I needed to pull water from one vial and push it into the vial with the meds. after it disolved, pull back into syringe and push into the second vial with the meds. Then pull back to the syringe and inject. I pulled not enough water in the begining and it screwed me up. When I tried to get rid of an air bubble before injecting, I realized that it was huge. So, I pushed on the syringe to get rid of it and it turned out that i didn't have the necessary amount of the liquid in the syringe. I paniced and pulled more water from the first vial but too much this time. I paniced again and pushed on the syringe to get rid of extra water not realizing that i'm loosing the medication with the water. The medication disolves very fast....
I just reread what I wrote and it doesn't make any sense. oh well....
Anyway, what happened was that I injected myself with less medication. Do you think it will affect my stims? I hope not. It was the first day of stimming.

Jeck, (((hugs)))
I'm am so sad to hear your news :( I'm very sorry. It sounds like you are holding it together very well. I hope you will be able to do FET. I'm doing FET and I feel so much better this cycle. Not doing stims makes a big difference mentally and physically. Fortunately FET costs much less than IVF. I pray that you will find the funds to do it and deliver that beautiful baby that you deserve.

KF'06,
Yikes! I wish I could help. I'm not sure how much medication you lost. I suppose if you got most of it you should be OK. You just started stimming so you've got plenty of time to catch up. If you don't pull enough water it's not going to be much of a problem unless you pulled way, way less than half of a vile of water. As long as all the menopur is desolved and injected into you, you should be fine. I believe 1 vile of water can disolve up to 4 or 5 viles of powder. So 2 powders and 1/2 water should be fine. Sorry I wish I could be more help. You probably should ask your clinic if you are still good.

Well I had a US and BT yesterday. My linning is already 10mm, Yay! The RE says I already have an adequet linning and I can skip my scheduled US and BT on Sunday. Woohoo, no BD for me!

Hello cinders101, pcosgirl and noodle! Image

Don't worry about the shots, they really are not as bad as they look. I found the intramuscular shot to be less painful than the subcutaneous shots, those sting a bit. but you will get used to it and when you get a BFP, you will hardly remember a thing.

This list is growing like a weed! How will I ever keep up with everyone!

KF'O6

I am no specialist and naturally you should ask your clinic on Monday, but I wouldn't worry at all, today is day 1, like hopeful said you have plenty of time to catch up!! I always used to panic when the fluid ran out of my leg after injecting and convince myself I had lost half of it!! I dropped 2 syringes this cycle already and had to get some more drugs!! These things happen, its just nerves!! I did something similiar this am, had just finished one bottle of gonal and had to start the second but had to take half the dose out of each bottle, that was a tricky one, I just pushed the air out until the fluid reached the top and went for it, I am not dead yet!! and I can feel my ovaries today, very bloated and keep weeing :D And on my previous cycles I have always had plenty of quality eggs and made plenty of mistakes... :D  You will be fine..

Good luck with your stimming, one step closer!!!

KF'06- I think you'll be fine, but why do these things always happen at weekends when clinic is closed!? I'm sure you think you've lost more than you really did and you probably received enough. but can understand your concerned. Hope your clinic can reassure you Monday.

Hopeful- great news on your lining and having a day off from scan/bt.

Just a quick question if anyone can answer? In the UK the clocks go back tonight so what happens to time of meds? I'm on Buserilin injection once daily in the morning. I know with the nasal spray you have to be very precise on your time. Do you think it matters to take it an hour late? Or should Iset my alarm for 6.30am as I usually do it at 7.30am. any advicewould be appreciated.

Take care and have a good weekend

Jeck- I am so sorry to hear your news. My heart goes out to you!

KF- I feel your pain!!! I started stimming yesteday and was a nervous wreck. I am still not sure if I used the correct needle. They just came in huge bag with all types of needles (25, 27, 30, 22, 18) and syringes. I had written down that the nurse said to use 25, 27 or 30 for this so I used the 30 because it was the smallest, but I hope it is alright. They also told me I could do it in stomach, hip or thigh. Does anybody have suggestions??? So much stress!!!

I may call on Monday, just to make myself feel better.

Also, have any of you been having dreams about all of this? I keep having dreams (or nightmares) about getting all of the medicines mixed or forgetting to take them, or the I have no eggs, or embryos, or just about anything that could go wrong does! I hope these dreams are just my fears, and not promonitions!

Take care all, and have a nice weekend!

KF'06, I wouldn't worry about that, you probably did not lose almost any medication, and as you said, it was your first one, and even if it was your last one, it just happened only once, just try to avoid that from happening again, which I am sure you will  , but next time don't freak out too much about the water (saline), that is just to dilute the meds, it has no effect at all, so if you have less water by mistake but your medication diulted well, then don't worry about it.. I know it is difficult, we all have to become nurses from one day to the other

Jill, I think we all dream, or even day dream about all this, it is just something that we cannot get out of our heads...

Casey P, I don't think that one hour would affect too much, mainly because it will be only one day, then you will be taking it everyday the same hour, otherwise you will have to wake up at 6.30 everyday :?

Mia, congrats about your lining, one step forward!!!, thanks also for what you said about the IM shots, it really relieved me a little bit....

I am feeling my ovaries now, I feel like a hen with all the eggs inside, LOL  , I am going for my second follow up after stims on Monday, fingers crossed!!!

Good luck to everyone!!

Jeck i have sent you a PM. :

I have heard that some people get bruises on there thighs when they inject but has anyone had a big one on there belly. I had my second shot in my belly this morning and it has turned into a large dark bruise. Last time they were only tiny faint ones, do you think it could be because as soon as i finished i didn't rest for 5 mins but went straight out, also i think my belt buckle could have pressed it when i was driving :?

Casey About the time zone changes i hadn't even thought about it but thanks for reminding me as it happens here in spain to, i guess if the nose spray is every 12 hours (that is when i have to take mine) then i would count 12 hours and it would make it the same time and not 1 hour earlier. Hope this makes sense :)

Ellie, I don't know how big your bruise is, but I know that it is normal to have bruises with the stim meds, to try to avoid them you should inject the medication as slow as possible, do not rush it, and put a little bit of pressure after removing the needle. But if the bruise is too big, then I would talk to your doctor...

Hey ladies--I finally got AF this morning. I'm waiting to hear from the office to confirm that I go in tomorrow for bw and us. If all is well, I start injections tomorrow evening. I'm concerned though, because I have had pain in my right ovary area for awhile now. Last time I had a cyst, but it was ok because it wasn't prodcung any hormones. I hoping that it is not another cyst. I guess I will find out tomorrow

I have been fighting a cold for the past few days. I'm trying to get it under control before I start stimming. I know that medication use during the cycle is very limited and I don't want to be suffering.

Jeck--I amso sorry about your news. Take care of yourself. We are here for you!
