I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. Remember that I became pregnant naturally with Andrew at age 42.
We are not using birth control either, but I really think I have passed the age where I will get pregnant. I turn
46 next month........yikes. Where does the time go. Andrew is 3 years old now and quite a lot of fun. He talks
nonstop now and is always trying to make us laugh.
Take care all,
Tammy

Tammy, i do remember that you were 42 with Andrew. Did you try to conceive right after having him or did you take birth control. I know you have started thinking about it now that he is older. just curious if you tried. I am taking clomid. it didn't work last time and i doubt it will this time. probably not nearly strong enough to get these old ovaries kick started again. lol. i figured what the heck better than nothing. It took me a year to get pregnant with Isabella. but, i only have one tube, the other is blocked with scar tissue from colon surgery. so, getting a good egg and one from the right ovary just takes time. who knows it may just happen. but i keep telling my husband if we have another one i feel like Bella will be short changed so to speak. she deserves all the attention since she is a little baby. however, having two older kids to love on her, she is rotten to the core. ha ha. It was good hearing from you. Im so glad Andrew is doing so well. He is the cutest thing. take care.

Rhonda,
Just poked my head in here and had a comment for you. I noticed you were taking clomid. I have read that clomid is not good for women over 35. It thins out the lining. If you aren't successful, which hopefully you are, you might want to ask your Dr about this. I know there are other drugs that can do the same thing as clomid, I know one is Famera. Just my 2cents. Congrats on your little baby.

Chris, thanks for the information. i remember someone else on here said something about clomid not being the best choice, but i cannot remember who. I hope you are doing well. It broke my heart when i read your ending signature no hope. im so sorry. I wish for a miracle for you. Dont give up.

Chris is right. I took Femara and it did not thin my lining. I had several eggs with Femara, just
no BFP. Femara is relatively cheap. It cost only $25.00/month. We did not use birth control, but I
did not start my period until about 8 months after delivery, since I was breastfeeding.
Thanks for the kind words on Andrew. He is my sweet pea.
Take care all,
Tammy

hey guys what do you think about just doing a cycle with meds and getting monitored without doing ivf? have any of you tried this? we cannot afford ivf or iui. just wondering? the clomid didnt even phase my ovaries. i didnt even ovulate. maybe my time has passed. when i was trying last time before i got preg with bella, at least i always ovulated. it was heartbreaking. made me feel so old. hope u guys are doing ok. thinking about each of you and wishing you the best. its a beautiful sunny day here in the south. sunshine and warm weather always boosts my spirits.

Rhonda - you can do an iui cycle with injections. Its done all the time. I actually did a cycle like that in January. Cost more because you have to buy the meds and there is more monitoring. For me it was simple, went in for one u/s to make sure I had no cyst, after 5 days of stims went in for another u/s and then 3 days later did the IUI. Good Luck!
I did monitored cycles with Femara. I had an ultrasound on cycle day 11.............I think. Both
times I had 3 follicles with 1 mature. Femara worked for me as far as ovulation, but of course no BFP.
It is worth a try. It cost $25 for the Femara + the cost of the ultrasound. I also did a trigger shot but that was cheap
too.
Take care,
Tammy
