Miyaya- that gives me so much hope! I just don't know what to do.

Karin - what are you going to do? Thank you for keeping me going! We're in this together!

I think I am going to make an appointment for a beta on Friday morning. If I don't get my period by Friday morning, I will go in for a beta....what do you think?

Miyaya- Thanks for the encouragement! Your response to the BFP made me laugh out loud. Sounds like something I would say. I like the name Carson too....but I like Sawyer better...you did good. :)

Tiger- I think that I will probably do the same. I will do another hpt on Friday if no AF...and see what happens. What's a few more days? If AF is coming for me, it should be here by Friday anyway. I was going to go out and have a huge bowl of ice cream and a cold beer later. I guess I will wait until AF shows up. There's hope for you...I'm sure of it. AFM...I'm still hopeful, but emotionally ready for the bfn.

miyaya -- yes, I always feel bloated when I stim. Even though I don't make many follicles, I can feel them growing and aching in there. How are you doing?

Rebecca-- Oh I seem to be worried about EVERYTHING this time around. I feel like there's just sooo much riding on this. And where the heck are my meds??? UGH!

Tiger -- If you are only 12 dpo, there's definitely still a chance. I know of many women who got pregnant naturally and took HPT's on the day their period was due (typically 14 dpo) and got negative's only to find out days later that they were indeed pregnant. You definitely have a few more days of hope left.

Karin -- I still have hope for you too. My RE said to me once when I came in for my beta all upset because I had a negative POAS that morning... "it's not really negative until it's negative by blood. I'm not giving up just yet." He also said he's seen many beautiful babies born from negative HPT's done on beta day. I think you have another day or two of hope left. I'm crossing everything hard for you.

Amanda -- Good luck tomorrow on your 4 day transfer!!!!

Crashing your thread....again. Hmmmm....perhaps I should start a "Let's Support the Summer Cycle Group" thread so I don't keep interupting your thread all the time!

Franny: I was away on vacation, but just saw that you transferred TWO gorgeous embryos!!!! YAYYYYYY!!!!! When is your Beta? I'm thinking of you and rooting for you as always!!

Franny, Lou, Tammy, Ester, and Teresa: Thanks so much for asking about me. That was so nice. I actually did end up cycling again in June---I was too chicken to join the June thread. It was a good cycle for me, because I finally got my BFP! I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow. I had a loss in the past at 10.5 weeks, so I'm not breaking out the champagne yet, but it's exciting for now! Anyway, that's enough about me since this is YOUR thread!!! I hope you know I'm rooting for each and every one of you!! You're always in my thoughts and I'm sending you TONS of baby dust your way!

Re: Summer cycle group

Post by karin1 »

So....I went to lunch today with a friend to get my mind off of ttc. On the way home, I was checking my messages and got a message from my RE. He said sorry about the neg test. Maybe you can come and see me in 2 or 3 wks and we can sit down and talk about your treatment options. What the ????? Made me so mad. Made me think....I should fire his @ss. Like I could wait 2 or 3 wks to think about what we might do. Hearing what the plan is immediately after a bfn always helps you feel like at least you have one.

Am I wrong to be mad? Usually...he says call with your period and we will talk about treatment options. His office was already closed for the day when I got the message. I will call him tomorrow and ask to see him on Friday just to talk about what he would do differently. Otherwise I might go RE shopping. At first I thought that we wouldn't switch because we thought that a new person wouldn't be as emotionally invested and not feel as pressured because we would be new to him. I would think that after a year that my RE would start to feel a little more pressure. I feel like he's going to say donor eggs anyway and that's not what I want to hear right now.

Sorry for venting. Any advice?

Karin,

I am so sorry about your result. Yes, I agree that you need to know the next step and not wait. Do you have other RE's around? I think it would be a good idea to explore the other options. Maybe meet with the other RE's. You may decide to stay with yours but at least you looked around.

omg kim!!! that is amazing news!!! i am so happy and excited for you and dh!! yay yay yay!! you are very very sneaky!
i hope you rub some of that good luck off on me!! congrats mama!! :D :D please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing!!

amanda good luck at your ET today!! wooohoo you're PUPO!!! :D

afm i had horrible horrible dreams last night that i kept getting a BFN!! over and over again. no matter how many times i woke myself up i kept going back to the same dream. it was so sad. so i woke up all out of whack and upset. i know its just a dream, but it was so real feeling, and it was like reliving my last 2 BFN's. i am so scared now! i cant believe i put myself and DH through this again...we were just finally getting over the last BFN...what was i thinking?? :(
and on top of it i have these cramp like feelings right in the middle of my lower stomach. its not a lot, but i'm very bloated and uncomfortable. i'm sure its just from the PIO shots, and i know its waaaaayyyy too early to have any real symptoms! i am 4dp2dt..or 6dpo! way too early to be this upset...i still have more then a week till my beta!! that dream just really messed me up, and i needed to get it out of my head.
thanks for listening everyone!!
i hope you all have a great day

Franny -- How are you feeling? I just noticed that this was both of our 5th tries at this! There's gotta be something to this... lucky 5!

Tiger -- I keep thinking of you and your dilemma of whether or not to get a beta. I think I would at this point... just to know. To me, knowing is always better. Because you can stop worrying and focus on the future plan one way or another. Still holding onto hope for you that you are one of the miracle stories.

Katie -- I know! Where the heck are those meds!!! The company said that it can take two weeks once they send them and that will be up on Monday 7/26. So I won't REALLY worry until then. They arrived in NY on the 13th so they are in the custody of the USPS. You're right... I won't need them until 4-6 days of stims. I start stims on Sat 7/24!

Karin -- So sorry you got that call from your RE. So insensitive! I'd be mad too. You're right... a plan is good to have right away. I called my RE two days after my miscarriage and I wanted to know how soon I could cycle again and what testing should be done. They assured me they would be there when my body was ready and kept in communication with me. I hope you can get in to see him on Friday. If you aren't ready for a donor... TELL HIM! If he is not supportive, then ask for your records and seek a consult at another RE to see if he/she agrees or feels you can still have a chance with your own eggs.

Kim -- WOW! Congrats!!!Best wishes to you for a healthy pregnancy. I had a loss too and I'm sure I will worry like you well past the first trimester. Do you know what caused your m/c? I had testing done and it was a chromosomal abnormality. Nothing hereditary, so there's no increased risk of it happening again. But I will still worry.

AFM -- Well.... I had my baseline b/w and u/s this morning. Boy was I nervous. My blood pressure was 154/100!!! And they took it twice! I don't have my blood work back yet but RE said he thinks it will be fine. He said my ovaries looked the best they ever have and I have over 20 antral follicles! :D Gosh I hope I get a good response this time. AFC was never my problem... getting them to respond is. Last time I had around 15 and ended up with 7 eggs. Soooo... my best ER was 7 eggs, this time I'm hoping for 8! Would I be greedy to secretly hope for more? Oh, and AF is starting too since I stopped BCP's yesterday this is expected. I'm also going for acupuncture again tonight at my chiropractor friends office and again on Saturday. She's determined to get this to work and keeps reading up on treating fertility. Sweet of her, isn't it? She isn't charging me for these treatments... what should I do for her? I'm definitely not offering her my "first born"... hahaha. And if anyone see's a box from London with my meds in it... please let me know. If the Ganirelix doesn't come this week, I'm going to have to have an emergency shipment sent overnight and pay twice as much. UGH!!! How frustrating.

Franny -- we were posting at the same time. I'm so sorry about your dream hun. Remember... it was just a dream. You had two really good embies placed in there... so there's definitely no reason to think it's going to be BFN. You have a good chance here.

Miyaya – that sounds like great results from you SnS. I bet only 1 or 2 more days for you!

Karin – I can’t believe your RE said that. Seriously? If there is one thing that I have learned in this extremely long journey is that you have to feel good about your RE. We had a horrible experience with our first RE and I was hesitant about switching…like you are…well, we went shopping and spent a little more money on the first consult appointments, but it was totally worth it. I can only imagine where we would be with the old RE. I say follow your gut. Going shopping doesn’t mean you have to purchase, so I would recommend going to see what is out there. Bring all your previous cycle results with and interview them. Ask them what they would recommend as your treatment. We pay a ton of money for this and they should want your business. Treat it like an interview and you will always win.

Franny! You are already in crazytown…I’m here to pull you out. The great thing about this process is that every time we get a clean slate. The results are mutually exclusive and one BFN does not mean another. Think about how different this cycle has been for you. What a great protocol you are on. You stimmed so much longer this time…not as much monitoring and obviously that worked because you got 2 eggs! This is just a totally different cycle for you. You put you and DH through this again because you want a child. It’s stressful and painful and tough but it challenges us in ways we never knew we could handle. You are so strong. Remember that. I have faith that you are on the right path.

AFM: I think I’m officially done. I took another HPT this morning and it was negative. Now I’m just going to wait until my AF and start again! I love that this is the summer thread, because now I can just stay here and focus on the next cycle!

Tiger and Karin- I just wanted to say that I am sorry that this cycle resulted in BFN's for you guys. I hope that you are able to try again as soon as you are ready. Karin if you are unhappy with your current RE (and I dont blame you :x ) then I would shop around. Just because a new RE hasnt seen you before doesnt mean that they wont try hard to help you make a family. Besides if you dont find another you feel comfortable with you can always stay with your current one. Sending hugs and prayers to both of you!

Franny- I hate when I have horrible dreams that stick with me all day. I hope that you feel better soon and try to relax. Its just a dream and if everything happened that we dreamt then I would have the largest wardrobe in the world (yes I dream about clothes ALOT). Hang in there and stay away from the sticks and crazytown!

Lou- Glad your SnS went well this morning. Are you sure you dont want to contact the shipper or USPS for a status on your meds? You are far more patient then I am.

Much love to all my sisters and I will check back with you guys later today.
