Mora- Thanks! When does your school's academic year finish? Are you planning on being out until the beginning of the following school year? We have this week off as well as a week in February & Arpil. The last day of school is planned for June 22nd & we go back at the end of August. My goal is to work the 1st day after April vacation (April 23rd) & then be done. If I leave before April vacation, I'll have to use that week towards my FMLA. So, as long as I work for a few hours on that Monday the 23rd, I'll be good. We'll see if I can make it until then though since April 26th is my 38 week mark & that is around when I'll be induced. Who knows! They might come earlier, which I'm prepared for that possibility as I know it is highly likely. So, did you get your pregnancy massage?
Amanda- Thank you so much! Maribel is a cutie!
longtimerivf- Thanks! Yes, 2 years & 6 IVFs later...& it's all worth it! How was your appointment last week?
Jen- Yay, you're in the double digits!!! Woohoo for no more blood! Great heartbeat!
Ryann- Thanks! Dylan & Isabella are so adorable!
Precious- Thank you! Yes, it was a long & emotional road, but worth all the struggles & tears! I can't believe how close you are!
Addy- Thank you! We are not sure about names. For the boy's first name, we are considering either Gavin or Maddox. For the girl's first name, we are thinking of Justine or Madison. We do want to make Antoinette (Tim's grandmother's name) & Rosaleah (my grandmother's name) the middle names for the girl, so she'll have 2 middle names. I can't believe right now you only have 11 days left! How are you feeling? When's your next appointment?
Barabara- I hope you're enjoying sunny & warm Florida!
Felicia- I'm hoping January goes by quick for you, so you can find out the flavor of your LO! Did you get your IPad? Happy belated birthday!
ttcnb- Wow...I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. I'm glad that they're keeping a very close eye on you. So, will you be in the hospital as of the new year? 3 boys...so exciting! My SIL & BIL (DH's brother) have 8 year old triplet boys through IVF & they're awesome! Just like yours, 2 of my nephews are identical (although, you can tell them apart) & the other one is fraternal. Do you have names picked out? My SIL went off the baby A, B, & C theme & named them Avery, Brody, & Casey, so when we talk about all 3 of them, we say ABC.
Kat- Congratulations on the arrival of your LO! Love the names Lucas!
Bonnie- Welcome & congrats! Sorry about the OHSS! Glad it is resolving!
DALLAS- OMG, so I'm assuming you're still on for your appointment tomorrow & they're going to schedule your induction date!!! Let us know what it is!!!
hopingForAMiracle- Thank you so much! How did your MFM appointment go last week?
DragonDad- Welcome!!! Congrats to you & your wife on double the fun! I know it's not for a while, but do you plan on finding out their sexes? Let us know how this week's appointment goes.
Lydia- I know you're not "officially" w/ us, but woohoo!!! Tomorrow, you will know how high your BETA is. Although, mine was not that high to start w/...151 (twins), so you just never know...it could even be triplets even w/ a lower number! Regardless, you're so preggo my friend! Post as soon as you know! Boo for the OHSS!
yingz- How are you doing? You're in the home stretch now! 7lbs 7 oz...nice! Remember, their weight & length is a guestimate...so they might be off a little bit.
Katie- I'm so happy things are looking better w/ your SS & your LO! February?! That's right around the corner!!!
bodie- Welcome! 2 girls...so exciting! It feels good to be in the 2nd trimester, huh?
QOTW (last week): Okay ladies I know you all want healthy babies for a holiday wish...but thinking completely from a materialistic perspective, what is on your list for Santa this year (If you celebrate the holiday)??? It could be anything but it has to be for you and purely selfish. Its time to take care of Mom!
Answer: LOL, you ladies are going to laugh, but the answer is a house! I know it's a BIG wish! We were hoping to buy this year, but when we got preggo & found out we're having twins, we wanted to be more conservative, so we put the house buying on hold until next year. My parents keep saying, "If you're not going to do it now, you'll regret it! It's going to be so much more difficult w/ kids." They may be right, but it's what our gut feeling is telling us to do. We want to be comfortable, not counting pennies. We'd like to be able to enjoy doing things w/ our kids & not worry about money as much as I know we would if we put all of our life savings into a house right now. So, basically we just want to be able to buy a house & still have a little cushion to feel comfortable. That'll take us another year or so.
QOTW (this week): What cool stuff did you and you LO receive over the holiday? If you don't celebrate it...what baby or nursery item is highest on your list of "must haves?"
Answer: DH & I didn't exchange gifts this year to save money. From others, I got a beautiful ladybug bracelet (silver w/ a big ladybug at the top that sparkles) (I'm OBSESSED w/ ladybugs!), lots of maternity clothes, ladybug stuff for the kitchen (mug, sugar caddy, etc.), & just other random things. It was a quiet one this year. DH got a really cool gift! His football team is the Oakland Raiders (he's originally from CA) & he got a Raiders diaper bag...he loves it! He also got clothes & other random things. The LOs got clothes, bibs, books, diapers, wipes, & toys!
AFM- We're planning on going to Ikea this Saturday to check out furniture for the nursery & hopefully, get everything we need. I feel pretty good. I'm starting to have some off-days where I feel like I can't walk from one end of the hallway at my school to the other w/o getting out of breath. My belly constantly feels full & the skin is starting to feel really tight. I've been rubbing vitamin e oil on it. I've been congested for I don't even know how long...stuffy, sneezing, bloody mucous in my nose (sorry, TMI). I'm off this week, so I'll be getting into the nitty griddy of researching items for my registry. My mom & SIL are planning my baby shower. They need my invite list & addresses by the end of January since the shower will be March 3rd. I will be 30w2d. Twin mommas-to-be, I have a question for you. What are you going w/ for strollers/travel systems?
Ester: Due to budget cuts in CA, our school year will probably end a week early, probably mid-June . . . what sucks it that my district is switching to an August start (instead of after labor day), so I only get 6 weeks off at summer =( No massage for me yet . . . waiting for after 36 weeks . . . I have a friend who had twins and they used the snap'n'go system . . . I'm not a fan of travel systems myself (hard to push, etc.), but the snap'n'go worked great for them until the twins were old enough to graduate to a double stroller (I think they went with a city select) . . . we're going for a double bob (Love the Bob!) P.S. I have two middle names (my grandmothers' names) and DD had two middle names (my mom and MIL's names), so I love the idea od two middle names! DS will only get one though
Lyd: good luck tomorrow!
Yingz: I know it all seems scary and unknown but it will all work out in the end
Bodie, Bonnie, Dragon: Welcome =)
EOE: Hope you all had a great Christmas! (Or are enjoying your Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, etc.) Happy New Year!
What cool stuff did you and you LO receive over the holiday? If you don't celebrate it...what baby or nursery item is highest on your list of "must haves?"
LO's made out like bandits this year . . . Grace got lots of "Big Sister" clothes and lots of Elmo toys (Elmo is her fave right now) . . . Grady got lots of baby clothes and a lot of gift cards so I can go out and get diapers for him . . . MyMom got us a double bob stroller and MIL and FIL got Grace a booster car seat . . . I realized today that if I was at the same point in my pregnancy with Grace that I was with Grady, Grady would be born in two weeks! (I had Grace at 36 weeks and 4 days!) I am sooooo not ready! Cook some more, Grady!
Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I posted, and I have a lot of personals to catch up on. I'm sorry if I miss anyone!
Ester- You look great! Congrats on the boy/girl combo! I think that's perfect! As far as travel systems go, we are doing the double Snap n' Go with Peg Perego Infant carriers. Then we're also getting a double Bob for when they grow out of the infant carriers. We really struggled with that decision, but some of our friends with twins used those systems and said they were very happy.
Deftonesmo- You are almost there! It sounds like you got some great loot for Christmas!
Lyd- Good luck today!
Ttcnb- Good job holding on to the triplets! I know that you must be uncomfortable, but it will be so worth it in the end! Lots of testosterone..
Alisa- Glad to hear you are doing well. Evie will be here before you know it!
Dragon- Congrats on the pregnancy and welcome!
Addy- I can't wait to see pictures of that beautiful baby!!!
Jen- So glad the bleeding has stopped. Mine was on and off for he first 12 weeks, but then stopped completely. Hopefully yours is gone for good!
LongtimerIVF- Hope you had a great holiday!
Bonnie- so sorry about the OHSS, but great betas! Welcome and Congrats!
Bodie- Yea for twin girls!!!
Yingz- I completely understand your worries, but I'm sure everything will be great!
Katie- Glad to hear things are better with the SS!
EOE- I hope you all had a great holiday!
AFM- What I really wanted for Christmas was a Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag, and my husband gave me one! I love it! I gave my husband a Skiphop diaper bag. He also gave me a massage gift card, and I cannot wait to use it! I also got some Uggs that are so comfy! The twins got some clothes, books, and sleep sacs. My husband's aunt knitted them beautiful blankets. Overall we all had a wonderful Christmas!
Right now we're at the beach....last baby-free vacation! We're hosting a NYE party, and have friends flying in, so we go back home on the 30th. My last OB appt was great...everyone doing well. I go in 1/5 for another ultrasound and GD screen. My sister had GD with all 3 pregnancies, so I'm enjoying sweets while I can!
Happy New Year everyone!

Hello guys, I did end up in the hospital yesterday after all. At midnight I just fell light headed and nauseous and super bloated, like a balloon. So we called my parents who drove over to sleep here with DS while DH and I drove over to the hospital. They gave me IV fluids, checked my blood work and ovary size - although I do have a lot of water in the abdominal cavity they did not recommend draining it because of the risk of infection and bleeding. But I did get prescription for some good pain killers and zofran. Which will come in handy as I am pretty nauseous already.
The upside of the whole ordeal is that I got to find out my BETA, which is 215!
my doc is back in office and we just spoke. I am going in the office on Friday for repeat beta and progesterone
The doc wouldn't venture a guess on whether this beta number meant 1 or 2. He said only heartbeat u/s would tell. So. I won't know for another couple of weeks. I talked it over with DH and we are both warming up to the idea of twins. He is less concerned about carrying them to term -he thinks we have excellent medical care and if bed rest is required then we will figure out how to support it. He was more concerned about financial aspect of three kids, which I was not worried about at all - people raise kids with little money all the time. But men are men and they worry about finances.
So now I am excited about the possibility of twins!

1st of all...WOOHOO!!! Congrats momma! How many days past your ET are you & where they 5-day or 3-day? I know you put 3 back...what were their qualities? At 9pd5dt of 1 early blast & 1 compacted morula, my BETA was 151 w/ twins. I know you can't go by BETAS, but I'm thinking twinkies!!!
Ester, I am exactly 14dpo today. The embryos at 3 day were perfect, according to the embryologist, but she didn't want to risk it to day 5. I think twins is a real possibility. My beta with my DS at about the same time was 80, although that was a frozen cycle so slightly lower betas there. But I do think it's twins this time. Of course, only the u/s will tell for sure.
Twin mommas, How is it carrying twins? Please share! Also, are you planning on 2 separate cribs or one?
I am 5'6 and am hoping the height will make it easier to accomodate twins. With my DS I was actually quite small from the outside.

Well ladies and gent...I am back in the hospital again where I will be until we bring Evelyn into the world. What a trip it has been!
I started bleeding again this morning at 4 AM. Since I was able to get a strong HB on the home doppler my OB let me stay at home until the office opened. When I went in everything looked perfect on u/s and with cervical check but OB pulled out a nasty big clot. Based on that he recommended a C-section because he thinks placental abruption is threatening.
He gave me a choice in doing the C-section at my home hospital and risking having Evie sent an hour and a half to the closest hospital with a NICU since she is only 35 weeks and 4 days or leaving and going to that hospital prior to delivering and chancing the drive and/or a different opinion from the on call OB there.
Well I of course decided to risk the drive rather than be separated from her in her first days if she did need to go to NICU. By the time I arrived at the hospital (an hour and a half drive) the bleeding had stopped and all was well with the world. Based on that the OB here recommended I stay here for a week for monitoring and that we deliver early next week assuming the lungs appear to be developed from the amnio we will do. He even said its possible we can still attempt a vaginal delivery.
So I am here where hopefully things will remain quiet for the next 10 days or so and Baby Evelyn will be with me soon.
Oh and the upside to all this is we were FINALLY able to get 4-D pics of our previously camera shy gal today. I will post later.
LYD10- So stoked about your Beta! Hope you are feeling better. So jealous on the nanny.
Yingz- I am with you on the fear factor. The closer we get the more nervous I am. Now that I am officially checked into the hospital and heading home with a baby it is surreal. You will do great! Keep up the PMA.
Wishing- you jinxed me with your last post mama! LOL. Kidding! Enjoy the beach and that special time with DH.
Dallas- how did it go today? Hopefully you are still going to beat me to the finish line.
Mora- you made out pretty well on the Bob! I can't remember if I mentioned it but my coworkers pitched in and bought me a single Bob jog stroller. I was floored! It was only on my registry for the post partum discount. I never dreamed anyone would actually shell out that kind of cash.
Ester- I don't think a home is a funny request at all. In fact I think its wonderful. Here's hoping you get what you are wishing for in the coming year.
EOE- Keep baking those babies...but the race is on to see who will be the first in 2012. Dallas is still in the lead but Addy and I are close behind...
Much love to you all!

BLISS!! - that was really scary!! You are very brave to drive for that long!! I'm glad you and baby Evelyn are doing fine and that they let you try to keep her in for a longer time!! did you get steroids? (I know most hospitals won't give them after 34 weeks, but some will...) Best of luck and keep us posted!!!
Lyd - I know you're still not officially here... but... CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!!! that's a very strong beta!! mine was 254 at 14dpo and had twins... (sadly one didn't make it... but that's another story)... I'm so excited for you!! make sure you call your doctor if you are swelling up more or have trouble breathing... OHSS can be very troublesome!! I think twins would be wonderful!!!
DragonDad - Bodie and Bonnie- official welcome!! and congratulations!!!
Yingz - totally understand about getting nervous... but stay positive! you will do great and your little one will be here soon!! and you'll do great!!!
Dallas - are you still baking those twins or are you holding them in your arms???
Ester - no idea on the twin issues, but HOW EXCITING!!... my appointment went fine, thanks... all seems to be calming down and seems to be getting back on track!! have to get my rhogam shot next week and start appointments every two weeks in Jan because I'm almost in the 3rd trimester... and yes... it was all worth it!!
deftonesmo- how exciting... but hope you can cook your little one about 4 more weeks!! Congrats on the double bob stroller!! very nice!!
EOE - hope you're all doing great and enjoying the holidays and our little miracles in the making!!
AFM- Had a good appointment last week, and now I have to start going every two weeks because I will be entering the 3rd trimester soon!! very excited!! never thought this would be happening to me!! Little one is moving quite a bit and I guess that being on the couch all day lets me feel her much more!!
Anyone have advice on what to buy for baby and what not to?? I've read the list of advice on this forum and find it useful, but still considering many things are not there, and for now I can't go outside so can't personally compare things...... for example: What bottles did you buy?? ... I know many have the bob stroller, but is it light and easy to pack?? ... how about the baby seat??? anyone going for pegperego?? etc. etc.. etc...
QOTW- We got a new camera to be able to point and shoot!! I wanted that for the baby because we had been using only our phones... and baby got many dresses and toys... small personal Christmas because of the bed rest but wonderful and grateful to be waiting for this little miracle!!
Hugs to all!!!
Ttnb- thinking of you!! hoping you're still baking those 3 guys!! Congratulations!! It's going to be a wonderful family!! and so many guys to take care of you!!!
Katie - glad you are more at ease with your SS and that you're so close to your little girl!!! February will be here before we all know it!!
Wishing - I have no idea what a petunia pickle bottom dipper bag is... so i'm goggling it!!! WOW they are beautiful!! I need to get out of BRU and go to nicer baby stores!!! Congrats!! and lucky you on the beach!! Hope you enjoy your NYE party!! have fun!!

Bliss- Sorry to hear you are back in again, but it will put your mind at ease by having the constant monitoring. Keep that bundle in as long as possible!
Appt today went so-so.. My induction has been scheduled for Monday. I am REALLY hoping to deliver in 2011! I begged my OB to let me be induced at the end of this wk, but there are so many restrictions on inducing she cant. Mainly bc I wont be 38wks til Monday, and I have not medical issues.
The good news is maybe I wont need the induction. I was 1cm dilated (not much I know), and I gave gone to 80% thinned from the previous 50%! She did try to help me get things speeded up though.. She stripped my membranes. Can you say OUCH!!!!! Hopefully it is slowly working. I have had some bleeding since, which she said was normal. I feel a little crampy/icky, like you do a day before your period. We will see! I did have a "labor induction massage" yesterday, so I don't know if that really did help in getting things going or not. But it sure was relaxing!
Let's hope there's no snow on the mountains like they are saying will happen tonight. My mom is coming in from TN here to NC when she gets the call, so I need prayers she will be able to drive in safely.
Don't worry Bliss.... I am trying to beat you to delivery!!!
Bliss, I am glad you are at the hospital of your choice and still holding on to your girl. Keeping my fingers crossed she stays in for a long long time. I had a c-section with my DS. It was pretty quick recovery. The air that Is trapped inside during the procedure is actually the worst part afterwards - it hurts. they give you medication to help with gas later.
Longtimer, thank you for the information on your betas. They sound very similar.
Deftonso and Bliss, you will be running those lb off with bob strollers in no time!
I think someone asked a question on car seats. I got the chico combo and like it. From BRU.

Dallas, when I was late with my DS and wanted to get myself going at 40.5 weeks, I did acupuncture to induce. It worked the same night. I was in labor that same night. My ob also stripped my membranes a few days prior but I think it's the accu that did it.
If I end up with twins I will hope and pray for your univentful pregnancy! It's amazing how well you are holidng on to those babies! Can I ask you how tall you are? And how big your babies measure now?

LYD....Yay! I am so thrilled for you! Whatever you have you will all be fine....we didn't think we could afford to do half the things we have done this past 5 years....we were cash pay and by no means rich, it is still amazing to me that we were at all able to pay for any of it. I think of that everytime I think can we really afford another one or even two more.....hopefully the water will start to dissipate on its own and you will be more comfortable soon......CONGRATULATIONS again! I am so thrilled for your family!
TTCNB.....Keep cooking those babes girl you are doing great....all the pain will be worth it when you are holding those sweet little angels in your arms........
BODIE....Welcome to our little group....I still stalk the IVF boards so I have kept up on your story....Very happy to see you here!
JEN....11 weeks!!! You are almost to the second trimester.....so excited to hear what you are having
BLISS.....sorry for the scare but happy you are in good hands and safe in the hospital.....love living in the small towns but of course the best pediatric hospitals are always far away.......our hospital specializes in orthopedics (Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan ect....all travel here to have knee surgeries or whatever) so if my kids ever need that kind of help we are set but for all else we have to travel an hour away...
MOOREBABY.....WOW 20 weeks! Congratulations! And congrats on the 1 boy & 1 girl....that is so cool! I love IKEA I am sure you found all kinds of great things there...there style is simple & sleek which makes for a nice nursery.....can't wait to see pictures of what you got...As far as double strollers go I have a single Bob & love it was going to get the double but decided against only for one reason I travel a bit and the double was just too bulky to take up to the gates & manuever through the airport so I am looking for a stadium seating type of stroller....let me know what you come up with. If you aren't planning on traveling with it definintely go for the Bob it is a dream to push & manuver around. As far as wishing for a new house....isn't that the American Dream?? Good for you for saving right now but I am sure you will still get the bigger house when you are ready....our house is not particularily big but we are making it work we live in an area where the average house price is about $750K and that is not for a mansion that is for a modest 2000 or so square foot 3 or 4 bed couple bath house....so we have a lot of saving to do to afford that! So our paid off little house is just perfect for now!
DEFT.....Em made out like a bandit this year too and received tons of big sister stuff....she is pretty happy about being a big sis....we shall see how that changes when she has to share me & all her things....Hahaha...can you believe you are at 34 weeks! Seems like yesterday bliss started this board and we were on pins & needles waiting to see what sex baby would be and anatomy scans & all that jazz....
WISHING....I love that you & your DH gave each other diaper bags so cute! I had this pink diaper bag I loved when Em was first born & just made DH carry that.....I am sure he felt very humbled carrying that and his dolled out to the max in pink daughter! Haha.....Considering it is freezing cold here and not snowing I am pretty bummed that I am not at the beach with you! JEALOUS!
LONGTIMER....I love the bob but for light travel stroller go for the pegperrego I love mine & it has expandable handles for tall people I am 5'9 & DH is 6'5 so that is useful for us but you can make them shorter too....the bottles I love are the Born Free bottles...a little more expensive than others but they have a flow system that helps with air...I also bought these little parents choice (walmart brand) ones that were narrow enough that she could hold them herself at a young age (3 months). Couldn't live without puppy pee pads.....laid them on the changing table and threw them out when they got icky....one less thing for me to wash! Buy a package of unfolded diapers they are cheap easy things to use for spit ups shoulder burp cloths etc....A great thermometer is a must....I like the one you scan across the forehead.......if I think of anything else I will post it.
So who is going to go first Yingz, Addy, Bliss or Dallas??? (My money is on Dallas....)
QOTW.....Ok I totally thought that DH & I were not doing presents this year since we are bringing home another LO and with all the money & the new room for Em & furnishing the room for new LO I thought we were just doing that. But then I got super sick (I mean hospital time sick) and DH felt bad for me and knew I had been looking for a ring that had a aquamarine in it (Em's birth stone is Blue Topaz but I like aquamarine better) so he bought me one and some cute little diamond hoop earrings.....good husband! So I guess I got everything I wanted for Christmas! I am still on the hunt for the perfect double stroller for plane travel but haven't found that yet so no one can really get me that until I decide what I want!
AFM.....We are down to appts every two weeks....Doc thinks baby will be born early Feb if not sooner...but only time will tell on that one. Rooms are getting done but still not done yet....I am getting really excited and just trying to live in that moment and not any alternative...I figure the more positive I am the better the outcome!

Thanks Mama...that is my number one concern and everything looks terrific. If she had not looked so good on the u/s there is no way I would have risked the drive. I am really glad I did it though now that the bleeding has stopped and she is doing so well. I want her to be safe and healthy, but I also would LOVE to skip the NICU if possible. Hope you are still doing well.
Longtimer- I had steroids the last time this happened at 31 weeks so her little lungs should be good to go. I expect as a result we will have a baby on Monday or Tuesday!
