Anna, I was told that all of the scans at this office are level 2 scans, mostly because it's only high risk patients that they see. They say, there is no difference at the place I go. Mostly a level 2 is more measurements on everything. There really isn't much difference other than they take longer to do these measurements than what a normal ultrasound is. Just expect a longer ultrasound and enjoy watching your baby boy wiggle. :)

Margi - YAY for seeing a gestational sac & yolk sac!! Right on target for 5w6d. And you're going to see a beautiful heartbeat (or heartbeats) on Monday!! Hard to say what that larger sac may be, but by Monday I'm sure they'll be able to see and know more.

Mellow - Oh how I wish you'd be able to have a stress-free time with this pregnancy after your initial scare. Now to deal with this! Sending prayers and positive thoughts to you and your little girls! Come on Baby A - we know you're strong, just like your mama.

Mellow - I am so sorry for the news today, huge hugs, my Doc said my chord is not centered either but then my OB said he wasn't concerned about growth with the offset chord, gosh I really hope the baby catches up and everything is ok! Praying hard for your babies!

Margi - my guess is you might have had other implanters that didn't make it and high levels of HCG due to that. As for my guess is that you have one super healthy baby! For the large sac, if it was measuring 7w but nothing in it, it probably explains your high levels. But you never know and might be surprised to find a twin, remember my little twin popped out of nowhere!!!

hello to all. Sorry I have been gone for so long - wow have I missed a lot. I will do my best to catch up

Margi - So glad to hear you have on very strong healthy baby there - sounds like there is a possibility yet for more... Not sure what all that means but will be hoping for the best. Can't wait for your results for next week.

kay - I stopped my progesterone on 10 weeks. So glad you got good news with your ultrasound - sorry your RE is being such a jerk.

Mellow - you and Twin A will be in my prayers. Pray and believe twin A will catch up!!

Reenie - your babies are so cute - thanks for posting!

HopeisallIhave - Sorry you are feeling so ill but so glad you got to see your baby!!

Rio - Happy belated birthday.

DLK - Congrats on baby Rachel

Leora - I am soo happy that your babies are doing so good - they are growing perfectly. Here's to a stress-free 8 months. Hope the MS gets better soon. Does it ease up for you in 2nd trimester?

Lou - My RE also said that the 140 heart rate is not a given. I also do not feel like I am anything with a HR of 140 - I can talk normally. He said just use good judgement and don't overdo it - rest if not feeling right. So I just go by when I start to get short of breath and then ease down some for a while. Glad you are doing so well and are progressing nicely. I love your name choices - I haven't even thought much about it - I have one favorite boy name - Hunter - that is it.

BabyBlu - Sorry you are having such a rough time. But here is a good place to vent as we all are or will be going through the same thing. You dont have that much longer and you will have a baby in your arms and all will be forgotten.

AFM: Had my OB appt yesterday - waited 3 weeks since my last RE appt. Hoped I would get to hear the heartbeat or get an ultrasound but no. Nothing. All we did was talk. It was good cause he answered a lot of my questions but he checked nothing. No blood work even. I thought they did blood work for varies tests and that during the 1st trimester - I'm at 11 weeks. What do you guys think? I am not scheduled to go back till 4-25. 4 more weeks of waiting. He said that since I am not have any problems he is not worried. And that is true I feel fine - only c/o is a little fatigue. But I guess I was hoping for something more. Any opinions? He did bring up doing CVS or amnio as well given my age (38). What are some of your thought there as well?

KJM - that doesn't sound right, my OB had me do a CBC and some other tests. Plus you want to do a Nuchal test which is a non invasive test with blood test also the AFP, most OBS don't do this but will refer you to a place they will. This has to be done between 11 weeks and 13w6d so I would run and schedule it now. Then there is the wuad test and the level II US, then if you have bad odds you can chose an amnio. Did he not counsel you on any of the non invasive genetic testing? I think my OB also tested me for tay sachs or one of the genetic issues and I also got a test for fragile X carrier.

Mellow -- I'm really sorry to hear that one of your girls is growing slower. I am praying that she will be alright, just maybe a bit "petite". She has made it this far so she must be a real fighter.

AFM -- I taped my u/s yesterday. My baby started out face down and then proceeded to flip over onto it's back. It was really cute and cool to see so I uploaded it to share with friends and family. Here's the link if you wanna have a looksee. My nurse is the first voice you hear, then DH, then me and RE with his goofy laugh.

Chris: Can’t wait to hear about YOUR u/s tomorrow! :-) No worries about the pulling...it is all normal with ligaments and stuff. I am feeling it all the time. I am about 4 days behind you. We didn’t see a HB today and doc said no worries.

Annashope: I hear you about the disbelief. I almost POAS’d the other day...but stopped myself. LOL. I was hoping when I was 18 weeks like you the disbelief would be gone..we shall see...still makes it a bit magical and wonderous though. :D

Ashley: Aw. I loved reading your post. How utterly sweet. I am so happy for you....and your DH....

Mellow: SO sorry my dear. You don’t need any more stress at all. Keep the positive thoughts. I will send some prayers.

AFM: Trying to let my news sink in. Looking at my u/s picture....trying to wrap my head around it and believe it is all real. My left ovary is still fairly large. The U/S tech was pretty surprised and seemed a bit alarmed. Maybe just because she isn’t as familiar with IVF? She wanted to make sure I let my RE know. 11 X 6 cm. (Right is 4X5) Anyone been told to pay attention to that? I am thinking it just takes a while for things to settle back down. They did work pretty hard just a month ago.

Mellow - I'm so sorry to hear about your little girl. I definitely agree with everyone that given everything she's already been through, she's for sure a fighter. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Margi - Congrats on your u/s! I know you've been left with lots of questions and not so many answers, but the good news is you have one little officially confirmed. :D

afm - Had my 26 week visit today, with my new OB... Who I LOVE!!! What a difference having someone that listens to you and answers your questions with compassion makes! Plus, I LOVE her "game plan" for the births waaaaaay better. Just one visit with her and I'm already totally comfortable with her and her staff.

Boys look good, weighing 2'4" and 2'5" already. Both are breech now, which explains the SEVERE heartburn and shortness of breath. I have two heads shoved up into my ribs, stomach and lungs! Oh, and I'm measuring at 38 weeks!!!

My glucose came back at 146 when the max they like to see is 140... Crap! Now I have to do a 3 hour test next Tuesday. I'm really worried because I can barely eat as it is. I have everything crossed that my 3 hour test comes back ok.

hi all!!

margi- congrats on your u/s!! i'm no expert on the topic of vanishing twin, but that's what it sounds like to me :)

baby blu, sorry to hear about your glucose, i have fingers crossed for you too

KJM... hmmm. i'd ditto what rio said- you have other options, non-invasive ones that come with no m/c risk at all... but you have to get on it. like rio said, deadline for first b/w is 13 wks 6days.. and if i was in your shoes i'd ask for a quick visit before the next big one just so that you can hear the h/b on doppler- my obgyn lets me do this in between appt's.

lou- congrats on a great u/s!! i haven't checked out your vid yet but will later

anna- YES, like margi i almost POAS'd the other day- i thought i had a hpt in the house and was soo PO'd that i didn't!! yes, lol. we are a crazy bunch

chris- again, good luck at the u/s tomorrow, and the pulling is a great sign! your uterus needs to stretch

mellow- so sorry you didn't get more reassuring news.. i just really wish things like this never happened. big hugs to you right now

leora- yes, i bet your tired! that's good to get that rest now, before the ugh- pregnancy insomnia kicks in...

i'll try and do more personals tomorrow night :)

afm.. i went into my obgyn appt with a feeling of dread that there would be no h/b... but of course there was! all is well.. i'm getting my anatomy scan booked soon. another 4 wks and i should know the gender! i can hardly believe it :)
38 yrs. DOR, TTC since '04, recommended DE but didn't listen
3 IVF's & 1 FET: 1 cancellation, 1 m/c @ 12 wks, 1 chemical, 1 miracle boy & miracle 'natural' PG right now while waiting to cycle (WTF?)

Margi, Just wanted you to know, I'm so glad you were able to see a sac and yolk sac today. The waiting is hard, but I pray next week you see a beautiful heartbeat. :) So happy for you!

Stephanie, it's no wonder why you are miserable. Poor thing. I'm so glad for you to have a good OB, and yes I know the difference it makes...it's huge! Take it easy and I hope things got straightened out for your release from your job.

Lou, what a precious video of your sweet baby. What a treasure that is!

Karenvan, it's going fast! Happy for you.

Leora, I was so happy to hear things seem to be looking good for you and your little ones. :)

Thank you all for your prayers. I am so thankful to have this outlet. Without it, I would certainly go crazy.

Happy to hear the boys are thriving! woo whoo! I can imagine the discomfort of their positions right now. Bummer about the glucose test. You are just right on the borderline, so it could have just been an off day for your body. Will send you positive thoughts and vibes for a great result for you 3 hour test. xo Karen
