Hiya Ladies~

I am just back from my scan and feeling more disappointment. Now there are only 4 follies in range! And i dont usually get an egg from every follicle so I feel worried there wont be much to work with this time. I just feel like UGH why did I take all those icky daggone herbs for 3 months!? My Hubbs tells me not to worry--all we need is one strong one. But I am feeling stressed now!

Renee~i love your pic. you are one hot mama! Your son is such a cutie-pie.

kelly~I am not surprised that you are a nurse. I bet you are a good one too.

Kat~Do you feel your ovaries cranking away? I sure do! I just wish they were producing a few more eggs.
I don't want to scare you--but i think it is best to be prepared . . .one of my egg retrivals was extremely painful with a lot of bleeding. But the other was not that bad. i dont think they gave me enough drugs on the bad one and I really felt it all happening. They gave me more drugs when I was crying, but they didn't kick in until it was over. My eggs have a tendency to hang on so they have to flush my follicles multiples times--so maybe that is why it is more uncomfortable for me. Hopefully you will sail through!

I case you all can't tell i am really not in the mood to update the list. I will get to it but when I can't say for sure. Sorry i just can't seem to get motivated.

Kat, you can have sex when every you want. Just make sure you have it the day before ET to give your uterus the heads up. Apparently there is some scientific evidence to back that up because Dr. Sher recommends it.
I hope you are not at this long enough to pick up the terms.

Natasha, that is interesting that they didn't do a second beta. For some reason i thought they always did that. I don't know why though. All it does is make you worry if your doubling time is a little slow. I think i will skip the second beta. I don't want to be in beta hell. I bet the 18th can't get here quick enough.

Renee, i can eat a ton at one time and i love Kraft mac and cheese. I just don't make it or i would eat it all. But now that i know people eat 2 boxes at once i don't have to feel bad about eating it all at once. That rocks!!

Sue, do you have a second group of follies that are smaller and not likely to catch up or is that all you have total? I can't imagine that is all you have total. Please find out more on your next RE visit. Hopefully you won't have to cycle again but if you do we can give you more input with more info. If you have 2 wide spread size groups i think an estrogen priming antagonist protocol is the way to go. If you only have 4 over all i would think about doing mini-stim cycles. We can bounce ideas around later if necessary.

I will tell you that the newest thinking in ivf is quality over quantity. I have read over and over about people having 20 follies and end up with no embryos to transfer. I have also seen multiple cases of 3-4 follies at ER which end in success. REs are now really big on select protocols for the best quality. They have found that makes a huge difference in outcome. So chin up. You are going to be the next person to join our success stories.

Bad news on final CVS results.

Some of the placenta cells have an extra chromosome piece in them. I need an amnio now to find out if its the baby too. If it is, the baby will likely not make it...

12 days till the amnio. Unbelievable.

Congrats Suzanne and thanks. Sorry i can't see your beta?

Lynnie , it sounds like you have mosaic placenta cells. Read this. It should make you feel better.

LynnieC

Is there a chance that it could be limited to the placenta only? I understand that in some cases that it can be separate "confined placental mosaicicsm" I think is what is called. I dont know much about it, but I had a friend that had this very same thing. She was 35 when she conceived and had CVS and it came back showing a trisomy. She had an amnio (longest 10 day wait ever) and it came back totally normal. Although relieved, she had gotten high blood pressure--among other things. One can understand, the stress, even tho the doc told her not be..Yah right! Anyway, I am not an expert, maybe Nurse Kelly can give you more insite, she's very well read.
I just want you to know that we are all pulling for you and your little one! ((HUGS))

Lynnie~This is horrible! I can't even believe you are getting this news after all you have been through. My heart goes out to you and I am thinking of you and hoping for the best. And to have to wait another 12 days--good grief--what torture! Please keep the faith--you will cross this hurdle too. Keep us posted!

Kelly~she said there were a bunch of little ones too. But they are too small to catch up at this point. Thank you for your words of wisdom about quality vs. quantity--it gives me a bit of hope. I sure hope the ones I get will be strong. I really hope this works! The idea of doing another cycle just makes me ill--this is all so exhausting. And we have limited IVF protocols here in NZ--there is only one clinic with just 3 branches throughout the entire country!

Yes, I got the dreaded mosaicism diagnosis. The genetic counselor said 10 percent chance the baby is mosaic too. So, tick tock tick tock till we find out.

The weird thing is they do not even know what chromosome this piece if from yet...

Lynnie, did you read either of the links yet?

Kat, i have been a little nutty today with the posting. I think i am developing some nutty obsession. I need a 12 step program.

Sue i know you don't want to go through it again. I pray you don't. But if you do at least you have something to work with. That is BIG. But for now we are going to assume it is your turn THIS time!!!
