Kiz - the worrying never ends does it? Why are you high risk, because of diabetes? You did the right thing calling in when you didn't feel your bean, glad all is well and hopefully you can rest easily after the next US!

Thanks Rio - yes, the diabetes puts me in the high risk category. They've moved the ultrasound forward now from Feb 4 to Jan 27. I feel OK about it since I got to see Bean on the small ultrasound last night any way and all looked fine.

Barbara: congrats on your girl
Freckles : congrats on your boy
Hope the rest of you are doing well
Yay, Gina!!! How exciting!! All this wonderful news today. UGH, the bleed is still there?? How big is it? I am worried that mine might hang around for a while too, based on it's size. I'm sorry you're sick too, that can't be fun. I hope you feel better soon.
Congratulations to all the Mama's who have found out what they are having this week. So happy for you all
Gina - Congratulations on your little boys!! I'm so happy for you and it must have been so fun buying some stuff for your little guys. How exciting this day has been with all of these announcements!

I had much less exciting appointment today - doctor did a routine PAP and found baby's heartbeat instantly when he placed the doppler on my tummy. Did our genetic testing via bloodwork - wonder how long it will take to get the results.. forgot to ask. Only strange thing is that my uterus measures 20 weeks when I am just 16???
I feel better about feeling fat, anyhow.

Sonya, glad it was at least uneventful. I would say it's usually a good couple of weeks usually to wait on some of those lab results to come back. I hope everything goes well with those, and you have nothing to be worried about. When will you have another ultrasound? Give yourself a few more weeks, and you won't feel fat, just pleasantly pregnant. If your uterus is already measuring big, it's likely because it's not as elastic as it once was according to my Dr. Haha Hang in there. Looking forward to hearing about your next u/s. Hopefully soon..

I did the Quad Screen blood work yesterday. I asked how long for results and they said 2-3 days and that they would only call me if there was an issue with the results. That's so open ended! I asked when I could call to check if I didn't hear from them and they said on Monday - if you don't hear anything by Tuesday, I'd call the nurse because they may not call if you have good results.
Also, I had a talk with my doctor about the screening because I had a suspicion that my age would cause the result to be bad and she said that I was correct and that I should expect to hear a high probability. She said also to not freak out and to take both the blood and the ultrasound results into consideration. My insurance (military) held up my nuchal screening so I never got it in the first trimester (I was wondering what happened!). So I'm getting that next Wednesday at 18 weeks (I'm bracing for weird results because it's so late).

Happy Bunny - you should not be having your Nuchal at 18 weeks, it should be a detailed level II ultrasound. This looks at the heart and various other functions of your baby. A Nuchal cannot be performed after 13w6d. You are right that results are mostly based on your age, if your Quad and detailed level II show no problems you can relax, you can always opt for an amnio if you are too worried with the results, but that is so invasive. Good luck!!!!!!!!!
Sonya - are you finding out the sex of the baby?
Gina - how exciting - two little boys!
Kiz - are you finding out the sex?
Klinger - yeay for awkward sex! I know what you mean!
Babyblu - yep isn't it weird there is so little sex involved in this?

Thank you for all of the warm wishes . My 10 yo DD cried when she found out that she would have 4 brothers now. My DH offered her an ipad to cheer her up, I think I deserve a gift too
Mellow: I asked how big it was, measurement wise, and the tech never told me. It still looked pretty big though.
Stephanie: are you going to find out what you're having?
According to my OB I will most likely deliver by 5/30/11 due to all of my complications and past history, which can be good and bad, my only worry will be whether the babies are healthy.
Rio: Yeah... I'm pretty confused about what is being done. I was supposed to have the nuchal scan but my insurance sat on the specialist referral for 5 weeks. I thought that maybe the doctor just wasn't going to do it. Now, the referral has just been approved and my OB set me up for an appointment ASAP. Maybe they are doing the Level 2 now although the referral was originally for the nuchal - I'm unsure but will find out on Wednesday when it's done.

Rio - No, we have elected not to find out the sex. Given that absolutely nothing has been a surprise - I'm sure you all agree, we all did kind of miss out on the "OMG I'm pregnant" moment when things all work naturally. Like most of you, when know all the details - which ovary the egg came from, which testicle the sperm was extracted from (since DH had a testicular biopsy), the exact time of fertilization etc, so it's nice to have one surprise! Funnily enough, before we got pregnant, I always thought I'd have a girl, but from the second they did the ET, I said to DH, we're having a boy and for some reason right up to 20 weeks, it felt kind of masculine BUT now, I'm quite convinced that Bean is a GIRL! My friends that are pregnant, both with boys are carrying high and really outward, whereas I'm low and kind of hiding it a bit! However, the other day when I couldn't feel Bean moving the OB who did the US had a really heavy accent and I had to keep asking her to repeat what she was saying and I'm sure she said "There you go, can you see the heart in the middle of your little boy there?" When I asked her to repeat what she said, she said "little boy or little girl" So, the long and the short of it, is that I have NO idea and am quite happy with that!
