Morning ladies

Well - i took MY LAST Superfact injection today
Wooooooo Hoooooooo -

Im to take my last menopur tomorrow (but have to wait for my scan first)
Im just so glad that the injecting is nearly all over with.

Did/does anyone have sore boobies? Mine seem to be really quite sore to touch this morning, i usually only get that b4 a period, But surley the injections i am on are controling my period?? - hopefully i wont get another one for the next 9 mths!! I dont understand...
Is this normal?

Ive been trying to catch up on everyones postings - most of u posted when i was in the land of nod - and i suppose i am posting now, when most of u are in the land of nod lol.

(I dont think my clinic had mentioned blastocyst transfer - but i have read in an infertility book that waiting for a few more days - you have a better chance of the embies staying put! Is this correct, if so, why doesnt everyone wait for 5 days? Surly there is more logic in waiting if this is the case? Maybe im worong - what do u ladies think?)

Paula: I too cant stop eating im worried that i will have put on too much weight that my BMI will have gone up. I had to lose a stone (14lbs) for my BMI to be at 'what they consider, ok for the sedation and carrying a baby' now im afraid its gone up - well deep down i know it has ive put on at least 6-7lbs since i started these injections - i hope they dont cancel me because of it - or im gonna have to starve myself untill Tuesday (EC) lol!

I think my PMA is gone. I am not hopeful at all anymore. It's hard because deep down I feel it's all over (bad gut feeling) but I have to smile to hubby and pretend I believe different so he won't get down.
Eventhough I don't have AF, I feel it didn't happen for me. I don't know why. I am dreading doing a test on Thursday.

Maybe you girls need to give me a kick in the ass!!!

Aw Lisa hun,

Please dont feel so down - you dont know yet what is happening in there. Your emotions are all over the place at the moment and im sure your not the first to feel like this, then have a positive outcome!
Do talk to your DH, he is your rock (altho we are here for you too ) you need his support at times like this.

i was so pleased to read that.. i know sounds odd right... ok well the amount of times ive read women write on here the very same thing you just wrote and they went on to be pregnant a couple of them with twins too ... once they settle in your not supposed to feel them they are home you wont feel them for a few weeks yet ... after all we go through just to get them home i think we deserve an etherial light shinning from between our legs at the time of conception.. or at least ting noise its not a lot to ask for.. i asked my dr to put mine back with a bell they could ring once they got settled in...

we all want this for you...and will be sending extra prayers your way....

Zirly, thats great that they kept your meds the same it means they have you on the perfect dose for you and that your responding just right.. they only up or down your meds when they need you to either respond quicker or slower than you are, so thats looking fantastic whens your next sacn? cant wait to read how many follies you have.

Islacraig.. yeah i get really tired during my cycle too, yay on the settling into the injection i was so worried now no bad reaction is fab you must feel so relieved.

Hi to you all. Thank you for the encouraging words about my dose. I have another blood test today and then my first scan tomorrow. I am anxious to see what is going on there.

Becky: Your blast question. From what I understand, it is true that putting blasts in does have a bit of a higher pregnancy rate...but here is why some labs/and people are not candidates for it (from what I've read)
-Taking and emby to blast is very technical and tricky. MOST embies will arrest (die) from day 3 to day 5. Some clnics do not have the expertise to effectively do this. It takes tons of training and skill.
-Second...they really have no data or proof that if day 3 embies were put back in versus letting them grow to day 5 (and then they die)...that had they put them in the womb at day 3 perhaps they would have lived. It is a gamble if you will. I think some women would probably rather have some eggs put in at day 3 and then perhaps not get a positive pregnancy test, then wait til ay five and have NO eggs to put in.
-Thirdly, some women who are older may not have the kind of egg quality to take to day 5 outside the uterus.

I am actually doing a 5 day blast transfer but VERY VERY worried that I willnot have any to put back in (I am also doing pgd...which makes it less likely since so many will be eliminated via that process).

I hope I didn't confuse anyone. This is just what I've read.

Thanks for the PMA and kick in the ass. Hopefully my spirits will lift. It's weird though, I feel like I have already been given bad news. I'm tougher than this and I know I need to gain a little more perspective and a little less self pity. Becky good luck for the follie scan tmrw.


I am 9dp3dt is too early for HPT right?? Do you think I could get a false result if I took one? Hubby doesn't want me to take one and make matters worse by maybe getting a negative and it been false because its too early. What do you think girls? He thinks we should wait until Thursday?

Hey Lisa,
well for me.... and this is my personal experience last time i took two one day 7p3dt -ve one 10dp3dt -ve now i was ok with my first -ve because i thought well that proves the hcg is out of my system the second one i took as a negative and it helped prepare me for my test i knew i could still get a +ve but was more prepared...
really it depends on how you think you will take it, i know if you get a +ive it will boost you no end your hcg should be out of your system by now... the big question is how will you take a -ive if you feel it will be too hard then i wouldnt do one yet.

Im really not sure what to do in this circumstance - If it was me then i would proberly want to do one - but i would be too afraid to (if that makes sense)

BUT - ALSO

I do think ur DH is right - i think u should wait untill Thursday. Im not sure if u can get a false result, im a first time IVF'er and i wouldnt know the anwser to that one im afraid sorry.

But i do know that u CAN get false results if u do a normal pg test. When i was pg on my first, (i concieved naturally) i did a test when i was 3 weeks late, and it said negative. But 2 weeks later it said positive. The doctor at the time told me that u can get a negative 'positive' but never a positive 'negative'
In other words, u can be pregnant, but the test mite say negative. But if a test says positive - it will always be positve - you will never get a false positive! (It will never say NO if u are)

(Phew - i hope that made sense, ive read it back a few times, and i think i understand it lol)

Its easy for me to sit here and say - oh wait till Thursday bla bla bla, i cant imagine what u are going through - i havent got to that stage yet - but from what ive heard the 2ww can be awful. Im dreading it myself - but also looking fwd to it (if that too makes sense)

I really feel u should wait tho Lisa, as much as this might sound corney and u prob heard it a hundred times :

Do try and relax, all this worry isnt good for u and ur emmbies.
Put ur feet up, rent a movie, get some snacks (i always find chocolate works a treat lol) spend some quality time with ur DH - and most important:

See if I get a negative I will be totally gutted eventhough I recognise that it could be still too early. On clear blue it says -5 days will give a 38% accurate result, 4 days 53% and so on.
I didn't have a HCG injection as I am on the progesterone pessaries so I know I won't get a false positive but like I said if I get a neg, it will blow me away. So I think I will keep away from them until Thursday so at least I know that whatever result I am getting then will at least be accurate.

Hi lisa

It must be such a hard decision for you. I know that the clinics always advise against HPT's. But I don't know what I will do in your situation. I really don't think I would do the HPT, but then again I know that there is one spare one in the cupboard and I could be really tempted.

I guess you have to think which is going to stress you out the most, waiting for the test or getting a -ve, which may be false. Think of the embrios. You need to relax as much as possible to give them the best possible chance and only you know what is best for you to do.

I want you to know that we are thinking of you whatever you decide to do and pray that you will get the answer you are looking for. I think that Becca has got the right idea, try to relax with DH, watch a movie and try not to worry. Think positive thoughts and we really hope you get a BFP on Thursday.

Macca--I am so sorry you have been down. Its very hard to keep up the PMA. With my FET I wanted the 2ww to hurry up and be over but the closer it got to the test day the more I dreaded it!! It is just a rollercoaster ride and we just all have to hope that is worth the ride!! Sending lots of PMA your way!!

Aunty--You made me laugh on your reference to the enternal light shining out between our legs!! LOL! I always said that our belly buttons should pop out and light up when where preggers.
