WC, hope you're OK? what is the next step?

Vlada, don't worry about being on the small side as long as the DR isn't worried you shouldn't be. I too am measuring small. I've put on 28 pounds but the twins are coming up average.

So I went for my second glucose tolerance test today - not much fun..... a 12 hour fast (fortuntaley overnight), a baseline blood draw (not a finger prick) then double the quantity of that revolting sugar drink followed by a blood draw every hour for the next 3 hours. I felt awful - dizzy, sick and bored of waiting for 3 hours with no food or drink! I hope no-one else has to go through it. I guess I get the results in a couple of weeks and just hope that I pass this time. I have had enough of needles!

Starting to feel exhausted and wondering whether I can really continue to work full time. Everything has started to take me twice as long and I;m getting out of breath very quicky. My hands have also joined in the swelling fun which lead to a very painful night of trying to get my wedding ring off!

Didn't mean this to be a moan as other than the above all is well and good. Can't wait to hit the 28 week milestone....

Can't believe that we're in February now, it won't be long until we are sharing birth stories!! lots to do before that!!

Take care all

Oh well, I just lost nice and long post....

Shortly, went to the pediatrician on Tuesday and can say that I'm very happy with her.

Yesterday we went to the hospital tour, and everything there is above my expectations. They told us that DH can spend the night with us in a private room, that I can choose what to eat (  very important fact) and that they honor what ever birth plan we have.

The hospital is 2 blocks from where we live so I might walk there if labor pain will allow

I hope everyone will have nice weekend.

OOOPs just realised that all the times I tried to post did in fact submit - apologies for the multiple postings!!! I was getting v frustrated so just kept on trying!!

Got my test results this morning and passed so thankfully no Gestational Diabetes for me - couldn't have hacked all the needles AGAIN.

Mandy, nice idea on the girls night - being from the UK I don't feel justified in having a shower but may pinch your idea as it would be nice to do something small to celebrate.

I was at work yesterday and one of our sales reps told me confidentially she was 11.5 weeks pregnant with triplets!! I know that she had been trying for a long time so I am super happy for her but I can't imagine how tough it must be to carry 3!

Croella, glad you had a successful hospital tour - I must remember to book one too. We don't actually know how to get to the hospital at this stage so we have to get our arses in gear!!

WC, hope you're OK

Happy weekend to all

Girls...

I am officially on PTL meds as of this past Monday... Terbutaline sulfate and it just sucks. I guess it could be worse... they could not HAVE this type of drug and I WOULD be outta work by now!!! I am trying for Feb 29th (31w2d) and if I am OK then I will try for 2 more weeks so that I can get a June paycheck...

Does anyone's belly muscles hurt from stretching? Mine do especially when I turn/twist the wrong way in bed. Youch!! I also have bad reflux. It doesn't come all the way up but just enough to be bothersome and even hurt. I find I cough more easily too.

Anyone getting tree trunk legs or cankles??? By day's end my legs and feet are awful. I am up for 10 hours and down for 14 hours and it will stay this way until I give birth. My house is a mess and absolutely NOTHING is done for the babies. Oh, and I got my VERY FIRST EVER leg cramps on Wed at EXACTLY 28w!!! My calf hurt the next day like I ran a marathon... anyone else get them? I haven't had any more and I DO eat bananas!!!

I just modified my registry and found less expensive cribs I really like so hopefully I will get a decent amount of baby things. Not to be greedy or anything but as I had earlier mentioned I have a disinterested DH but he was interested enough to rack up thousands of dollars on credit so I am in sort of a financial bind... I know I'll be ok. My babies will sleep with me for the first few weeks anyway. I did it with my son and have no reservations about doing it with the twins. I will just get a bed guard for their side :-)

Well, had another growth scan on Wed and the babies are 3.2 (baby A - girl) and 3.1 (baby B - boy) pounds!!! I think that's a lot for 28w. Everyone at work has been great in helping me out... I wonder if a work shower is coming... no idea but I have a booked month and will be out of the office in the field for most of it so I don't know what they would have planned...

WC... now that we can post PLEASE tell us how you are feeling and what is causing the pain!!!

Rebecca congrats on the NEGATIVE GD results!!!

I love you all - oh, and LisaPa is doing really well. We spoke last Saturday on the phone... what faith!!!! She is amazing!!!

Well, finally we seem to be up and running on here agin! thank goodness, I've really been missing reading up on everything!

Well, I just went shopping for my hospital bag, I didn't manage to get a nightdress though, they were all granny things, I want to try and find a nice night shirt! Maybe its still a bit early to be packed up with 11 weeks left to go, but I don't know about anyone else I'm starting to get a wee bit nervous now!

SO, in my bag I have:
For baby:
Nappies (diapers) - newborn
Cotton wool
Baby gro's
Baby socks
Baby hats
Muslin Cloths
Baby towel

For me:
Sanitary towels
knickers (nice big un-sexy things!)
Breast pads

Still needed

Nightdress
Baby shawl
Baby scratch mitts
Washbag
Slippers

So help me girls, is there anything I've missed out on here?

Mandy
