ARRGGGHHH...got so chatty I forgot the reason I got on here in the first place! This weekend was crappy and I felt crappy but needed to bathe, of course. Since I didn't want to wash my hair, I just took a bath. So an older lady at my work (in her late 50's) says, "Oh, you shouldn't take a bath. Was you water really hot? How long were you in there?" CRAP - did I do something wrong, or is this my mother's generations thinking coming out?

Wow I just looked back at my last post and i am smile happy. I'm gonna try to lay off the smile key. I just laugh and smile a lot though :) crap i did it again. Whenever I smile typing is usuually when I put a smiley face in :) There I go again!!!

Molly23: Thanks for clairfying. Well good luck to you during your ET :)

waiting for 4: your welcome!!!:) I'm sure I'll need pep talks in the near future :) My hubby has just been so good to me lately I feel guilty getting emotional. Usually he stays away from the kitchen and he's been fixing dinner for the last couple days. When I say dinner when he fixed it before it was like sandwhiches now he is makeing shrimp kabobs and steak dinners mmmmmm so good. It's werid, but it's so adorable :) About your SIL baby stuff just enjoy your weekend away and only go around it when your strong. These meds amplifiy our emotions they are crazy pills :) One time we were at a gathering with couples playing a game called Cranium. Well one of the questions came to me. The question was, "If you and your husband had fertility problems who would you prefer had them you or your husband?" I was pmsing during this time and it's a really emotional question for me because I wouldn't want it to be either of us. My husband feels guilty and I remind him there could be something wrong with me and when the time comes we'll get prego. anyhow I looked around the room to try to answer this question and realized we were playing this game and all the woman were pregnate. I just got filled with emotion and wanted to cry. So I realized what I had to do and did what you are doing. Take yourself away from those situations unless you are stong enough to deal with them. When I'm pmsing I can't other times I just rub everyones bellys like crazy :) Right now my SIL is prego too. She got prego first month they tried. Well I helped them a bit I'de like to think because I told her about our issues and I told them to start right away incase they have complications like us and I told them about when they ovulate and that info and what do you know it worked. i was so happy for them and my SIL knows what we are going through and she is really sympathetic. She doesn't talk negative about her pregnancy which helps me. I like to hear the positive stuff when I hear negative stuff it makes me sad. Like if someone complains about doctors bills. I've already told them I want my little neice to have curly hair like mine and she'll be tall like me and her mom :) My other neice from my other bro looks like me too already so I have a good chance :)

TKat: So nice to hear from you. Please keep all of us updated. Your BFP helps me a lot emotinally :)

to_have_fun: thank you so much for all the great info. So are you and I about the same stage? My pill case says I still have like 2 1/2 weeks left, but on my calandar they gave me I start Lupron about feb 4th. So are they going to have me wait for my AF to do stims too?

I have one more question. Have any of you guys noticed just being on the BCP's that you just feel hot a lot more. I'm haveing trouble sleeping because I'm so hot. Actually that reminds me of another question. When we did the inseminations the doc gave me shots of HCG that I had to order online. The HCG made me feel like my stomache was like doing crunches. I had so much trouble sleeping then and my head hurt to even brush my hair. I was like super sensitive to touch everywhere. I made a law in my house when the doc gave me HCG that my husband couldn't touch me at all because my body just hurt and i was so bruised where he gave me the shot. I had trouble sitting. Did anyone else notice this?

I didn't get a chance to read everyones yet. My hubby is calling me to visit with him. I will catch up later :)

Well I had 30 follies yesterday, and I feared that is too much, but they say my estradol level is 1130. They seem to think everything is all good and I will either trigger tonight or tomorrow. My lining is now a 13.5. I feel so full in my ovaries, and I am ready to get this over with. I am hoping for a Saturday ER, but I have a feeling it will be Friday. I will know more this afternoon though. I just so hope this works, since our insurance has a cap to only cover one round really.

Wish I had time for personals, but baby dust to all, and PMA.

Wow, a lot is happening on this board. I was out of town, then I have been working like crazy to catch up since I have been back. I don't know everyone yet to do personals but I hope everyone is doing well.

Molly- 30 follicles!! That is great that you have so many and your estrogen is not through the roof. I had a minor case of ohss with only 10 follicles, so the number is not always a good indicator.

CAfirstinvitro- I had really bad headaches also. These drugs really do take a toll on your body. All of my cycles have been different. A couple of them I have felt terrible, and the others I have felt fine. Maybe your body will react different this time.

I joined a couple weeks ago and I was waiting for my donor embryos to be shipped. We received them last week and I started my pills and patches last Friday. My FET is scheduled for Feb 5 or 6. I can't believe it is getting here so quick! :)
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!

Hi ladies. I had my us/bw this morning but dont get my bw results for about another 2 hours. The US showed 15 good sized follicles with a bunch of smaller ones we didnt measure and the lining is still at 11. The nurse said she thinks I will do ER on Friday for sure but you never know.

I am bummed I only have 15 this time. Hopefully they are better quality than last time, they sure are bigger at this point. I will let ya'll know what I hear from them when they call.

PS. DNT- congrats! I will be praying for the 3 of ya'll :)

New To Board

Post by d-bear »

Hi Ladies!!

Just wanted to introduce myself. My hubby and I are on our 1st IVF because of male factor so I am new to the board. So far everything has been going pretty well. I have been on lupron for about 2 weeks and haven't minded the shots as much as I thought I would. I had my first ultrasound and bloodwork today and everything seemed to be fine.....they counted 12+ follicles on the one side. The nurse did say that my ovaries were small. She made the comment in passing but now it's freaking me out a little bit. Has any one heard of this being an issue?? I think I'm generally at that point where EVERYTHING is freaking me out like they are going to find something wrong with me (even though all my tests have come back perfect) and tell me IVF is no longer an option?? Has anyone else felt this way?? I don't want to worry about nothing but I also don't want to get my hopes up here....

Well - thanks so much for all your posts. They are great to read and I love too see the support system. Hopefully we will all have happy news here soon enough!!!

BTW - my info:
I am 29
DH is 34 (and has low sperm count)
We tried IUI twice with no luck and doctors said IVF was better option - all the docs seem so positive which oddly makes me more nervous!!
Scheduled to do egg retrieval and transfer in the 2nd week of Feb!!

As for me, AF is here, very light but a flow so I go in tomorrow for baseline u/s and b/w. I hate baseline because so many times I have been canceled. I just hate IVF. Wish me luck.

DNT~ Congratulations on the BFP!! I am thrilled for you. Your deserve to finally be a Mum. Hoooray!

Chris~ Hoooray for AF! So glad it was not a long wait this time--those white panties did the trick! chuckle. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your baseline appointment tomorrow.

D-Bear~ Welcome to the board. I have small ovaries too. I don't produce a lot of eggs--but that has more to do with my age and FSH level. It sounds like you are making tons of eggs already! And you are so young. I would not worry about having small ovaries as they seem to be working well.

I am finishing up my BFPs and will take the last one on Sunday. I will start stims next week. I'm glad to see several of us are on a similar schedule!

I asked how this one compared to the last time and I am only 1 or 2 follicles short of what I had but the nurse thinks the ones I have now are more promising. I only got 6 mature last time from the 17 follicles i had.

Oh well... I am looking forward to a shot free day tomorrow and a lovely day off on Friday!

Hello Ladies... Good Afternoon. Just checking in, only have time for a few personals. I got in to work late cuz of all the snow this morning, I am sonewhat backed up with work, but I did get a lot done this morning. I have a headache that comes and goes and it is only on my left side of my head temple, I am so sleepy... but I get to start Lupron in 2 days!!! Yipee!!! And 8 more days for BCPs.

Hopeful~n~09... welcome to the board. You are more than welcome to join. Just be prepared for all of our ranting and raving and crying and laughing but always full of support for each other. As for the meds... yeah, it’s crazy how we get so excited looking at all those drugs and needles. As for the POI needles, they are big but not bad at all. Putting ice on the area prior helped me a lot. I also have PCOS, one tube gone after Tubal eptopic and 1 tube with minor scarring. Good Luck with your cycle... keep us posted.

Mandeekins.... I was reading your post about the bath. I was told that after ET no baths.. Especially hot baths, no saunas, no hot tubs, no heating pads on abdomen. I’m sure you are fine, but make sure if your RE has the same restrictions. Good Luck hun.

Molly... wow, 30 follies... that’s wonderful. I wish I had that many. So have u heard anything about triggering tonight? Let us know. Good Luck.

Brit... I am so glad that your embies came in. SO how many did u get and how many will u be transferring? I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Sending you lots of BabyDUst. Let us know what day it will be fore sure so we can send u PG Vibes. Good Luck.

DNT089... OMG, congratulations... that is so exciting. Brought chills just to imagine that you thought it was done since u got that AF but then BFP!!!! Amazing. Wow... Well, now that it is confirmed, I hope u have a happy & healthy 9 months. So how did you do the St. Jude?

D-bear... welcome to you as well. You are also on the schedule now. So u r currently on Lupron, are you also on stims already? Well, hope we can support u thru this roller coaster ride. Good Luck.

Chris.... Yipee!!! your AF is here. I am so happy for you especially since the cycle is going so well for you this time. Let us know how your scan goes. Lots of Luck to you Chris!!!

Waitingfor4.... Happy Triggering tonight hun. I will keep my fingers crossed that all goes well for you on Friday. Good Luck and make sure you get the full dosage in that HCG shot.

Well ladies.... I know this sounds crazy. But I did something that may be foolish. I have PCOS, on metformin, irregular periods one tube left with minor scarring. My chances of getting PG with that tube are slim but possible. I have always wanted a CBFM, but those things are too too expensive. Like $200 brand new. I know I am on my IVF cycle but I couldn’t resist. Someone was selling a brand new one for $65 on craigs... I am going to pick it up today. I figure if my cycle doesnt work again, I am going to give it a rest for about 6 months... in the meantime, I will try the monitor to help me detect when I ovulate. What do you think? And if it doesnt work for me or if I don’t need it then I will pass it along to someone who will need it. So what do you think ladies!! Am I foolish for even thinking about it? I guess I still am in denial about it all. And once again... I cried yesterday cuz my DH did nt answer the phone when I called... he was sleeping cuz he works nights, so I just started crying. I’m going nutz!!!!      :x 8) :o :D :)  8) :o   :P :? :) 8) :P  :D
I am 32 yrs / DH is 34
PCOS/1 tube/ DH low sperm count
1st IVF cycle... Nov 2008 = BFN
2nd IVF cycle...Feb 2009 = BFN
FET... Sept. 2009 = BFN
