Rebecca - I think it's called the antigon flare protocal? I take menopar from like day 5 to 12, (with antigon if needed to keep me from ovulating) then the hcg shot 36 hrs before EC. Then I do a 3 day transfer and the PIO's until RE says to stop. Is this what you do? what is your FSH level? Mine runs like 14.2 I think.

Hi Jovigal, mines actually different but also short - I've been on BCP since 4th March , stop 19th, then start stims on 23rd - Follistim am and pm until follicles are 12 - 14mm then ganirelex and microdose until my HCG. Have been told EC will be somewhere between 1st and 5th April. Have no idea what my FSH level is but will ask when I go from my first scan and bloods on 20th. is a high FSH good or bad? - guess i should know what I'm looking for! what protocol were you on last time?

a high FSH is a sign that you have a low ovarian egg reserve. anything over 10 is concerning. Alot of clinics won't even accept you if it is higher than 10. Mine hasn't been checked in a few months. I'm too scared to ask to see if it's gotten higher than the 14.... :( Also, your other question, I did the protocal I mentioned above last time also. He said that since I did respond to it, that we would go the same route. Looks like you'll be on your 2ww when I start my stims. I'm anxious to get started.

Hi everyone!

Great idea Donna to start the April thread! I am also on the auzzie & kiwi thread but thought I would jump in with you guys too.

To cut a very long story short I have a son (ten yrs) from a previous relationship. After trying for a few years with DH we found out that that he had no sperm in his samples. After a biopsy they found sperm and we are now starting ICSI. I start sniffing on the 21st of this month.

Great to read your stories!

Rebeccaj - hiya sweet - glad you've got your schedule - it will soon come round!

Kery - welcome to the group! Good luck with your icsi!

HI everyone,

I haven't posted for a while. Trying to catch-up. Thank you all so much for your kind words about my little baby girl. Still in tears about her daily. I had a hysteroscopy last week and my new RE found a septum taking up 30% of my uterus. (helps explain in part my multiple miscarriages!) I can't believe no other RE found it, but now it is gone and i am waiting for AF to start. probably in about 12 days. I hope I'm not starting too soon. We are just finishing out house remodel (NEVER AGAIN!!) and grieving horribly over our little baby. All the moms I've spoken to say the only way to fill the enormous void is to have another baby and really try to be pregnant before the time comes that your little one died.

So, here I am. Expecting to start stims day 3 (my heart goes out to my fellow poor-responders) My last dose of Folllistim was 450 with 2 of Repronex. And I only got 2 fertilized eggs. But I had the most beautiful baby I could ever dream of from it. So noone lose hope. It really only takes one.

Nicki - what a beautiful list. I love the sparkles. It really warmed my heart. Glad you are feeling better.

Rebecca - I had trouble on first IVF go too. They did a rescue ICSI at 18 hours (which never works except around 2% of time because eggs have waited too long). They all fertilized, but BFN. Sounds like they've learned something from your first try and I'm very hopeful it will go smoother this second go! (PS I grew up in Vancouver, WA across the Columbia river form Portland and did everthing in Portland as it was the bigger city to shop tax-free in.) I hope the weather is not too wet for you. I really miss 23rd street and Papa Haydn's.

Jovigal - Is menopar the same as Follistim? I think we're on a similar protocol. I had a high FSH last year 13 and last check was 8, 2 weeks ago. I don't want to check again either in case it jumps back up! But, you never know, it could go lower! My ovarian reserve is only 3-5 on each side. Not so good. But, will certainly get at least one beauty to go on.

N77 - so sorry for the added stress of bcp's. This is my first cycle without them and my dh is very happy as I supposedly get moody on them (he would consider "moody" an understatement). I think I just become extremely perceptive on everthing that is wrong with everything ;) Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Charlie - Am I totally off or are you are first to embie transfer from the list? Sending warm thoughts to your little frosties.

Have been informed I need to go tell the granite guy where to put sinks etc in the house. (I have no idea where the blasted sinks and faucets should go!) So will leave for now. Much love to EVERYONE on the list and the new arrivals. This is really a great group and I hope we get loads of BFP's for the spring. :D

Quick question? has anyone else had prednisone during their cycle. I have a few immune issues and my RE's putting me on 10mg/day after ET through 1st tri and possibly heparin. Would love to know anyone's experience on that. I've heard it can make you even more moody...!*#!

xoxo

It's friday ...yeah!!!

all those in the UK - I hope you're having a relaxing friday night!

all those on the east coast, have a great evening

..and for those, like me on the west coast, I hope your having a good afternoon at work (seems so unfair!!)

Daly, I was so sorry to read your story and words can not express what I would really like to say. I wish you all the luck in the world with this cycle. It's nice to have someone on the west coast too although I hope you're enjoying sunnier weather in CA than I am!! I love Papa Hyden's too - will make sure that I have a really BIG piece of cake for you next time I'm in there!!

Jovigal - thanks for the information on FHS levels. I learn so much more from this forum then I do from the clinic. To be honest I never asked what mine where on my first cycle but it will be something I will be asking next time. Glad to here that AF is here ...not long now! good luck!!

Nicolamark - cry as much as you want girl - if nothing elese it makes you feel better afterwards. Hope the sniffing is going ok? Loved the Thigh or tummy thread by the way!

N77 - my fingers are also crossed for you for the 19th!

Kerry, Hopeful2007, Charlie 78 and anyone else I missed - have a great weekend

Lots of love

Rebecca

PS. I went to see a counsellor last night as I thought it might help - the one thing that I really got out of it was the fact that she told me that it was Ok to be scared, OK to be worried and OK to be emotional and stressed (who wouldn't be on this mad roller coaster). None of these emotions will affect our chances of becoming mummy's. Worrying and stressing about being scared/nervous/negative may...if that makes sense. I have been so worried about the fact that I couldn't find a positive mental attitute and this would affect my chances that my stress levels were through the roof!

She also said that if we wanted to be parents we would be, it may take time but one day we'd get there. Simple but true for all of us.

daly, good to see you posting again. How is DH handling things? My heart goes out to both of you for your loss. To answer your question about the difference in Follistim and Menopar, I read on the internet that Follistim has FSH but Menopar has both FSH and LH in it. They both do the same job, stimulating the development of multiple eggs. Besides my FSH level being high, I also only have 1 ovary. So, odds are against me. :(

The support from all of you brings tears to my eyes when I read your posts. Thank you with all my heart and my little angel Chloe thanks you as well. She will be working over-time sending babydust to us all.

Jovigal, I pretty much have only one ovary as well. Poor righty lost most his blood supply with my lovely, yet very gory ectopic explosion (at least that's how the surgeon described my situation after the surgery). My left is way better (that is taking into account it is a poor responder, but at least gives something). And I got pregnant with really only lefty putting out 5 eggs last IVF. And I grew only 2 embies that were only 4-celled on day 3 transfer. So don't lose hope! One responding ovary is really all you need. You'll do great.

Rebecca, I am enjoying the sun here, but home-sick for the trees of the Northwest. (nothing against my palm trees, but they aren't the same). Let me know what cake you choose and I'll vicariously enjoy dessert with you :D I'm am totally with you and your therapist regarding the stressed that you are stressed vicsious cycle. I love what you said. Accept our feelings and be gentle with ourselves. This is stresful and it is not reasonable to expect immunity from that reality.

Babydust to all!

(If anyone would like to see my little girl we have a site called babysites.com (enter Chloe and then Daly) we used to update family and friends with during her heart surgery. When I think of what she went through with her short little life, I feel I can get through a few pokes and million us's. I certainly understand if you don't wish to view it as well.)

Hi Ladies

Daly - You made me laugh - 'I just become extremely perceptive on everything that is wrong with everything'! How very true! LOL
I'm keeping everything crossed for you this cylce after everything you've been through and are still going through. Although you may be a poor responder your body knows what to do LOL.
Good luck with the house re-modelling - it sounds exciting.
Sorry I have not used prednisone so can't help with your question.

Rebecca - sounds like you got some good advice from the counsellor - Thank you for sharing. I am also worried about worrying and having a negative attitude - that it might affect the outcome. She is also right that if we want to be parents then one day we will be.

I think I am the first for ET in the group at the moment!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank you so much for sharing my beautiful baby girl with me. I can't say how much it means to me that you took the time to meet her and she is not forgotten. Now I'm tearing again, how the heck am i going to get through this when the meds start if I'm already so emotional?! I'm usually the calm collected person!! Much love to you all.
