:x Having a nightmare day, just feel so stressed out and anxious. You know how i always hate myself cause of the weight thing, stress. Then Im emailed and reminded us to bring an extra 800 Euros for frosties (if we have any), was sure we were told that was included in price, anyway more money, more stress. Then my family are all fed up and groaning about life, stress, doing my svq, stress and this waiting game and not knowing whats going on in Big B, magor stress. Thank god i've got my counselling tonight----hope she has 6 hours to spare

I am such an organised person and like to have everything in place so having to wait and not know what is going on with the ed is driving me mad. When going through our other cycles, its the Ec, waiting to find out how many eggs we have then if they fertilize, which is the worse bit. I feel i dont know anything this time and just want some info. Emailed IM but they haven't replied :x and if they dont soon i will be up the wall

Anna - Thanks for your help, as always. Dont know if my nerves can take it to the day of ET to find out info  I only had one headache when i put the first patch on and it lasted for about 12 hours then nothing since so its not so bad. I have only had a few headaches throughout my ivf life and some sweats on the first cycle, maybe thats why i flt so awful the other day as that headache was a real belter. Will let you know if IM email. Hope your right about the hotel bringing luck, i could go through Et again but then thats it over, i just pray we can get our bundle before that :?:

Ok back to the studying

Hi girls!
sorry to butt in  but wanted to let you know about a friend I just bumped into in town at lunchtime. We used to work together many years ago and I haven't seen him for ages.
Anyhow he just told me that his wife is 20 weeks pregnant with twins. Not sure what propmpted me to ask if it was IVF but I knew he wouldn't be offended - and it was! Donor egg IVF cycle in Valencia. Apparently they had tried several cycles with her own eggs at Lister with no luck and poor response so they decided on the donor route. Valencia was chosen as it was easier than Madrid to get to for them. Anyhow - first round of DE and she's pregnant with twins.

Just wanted to let you know. Don't know about you girls but I always found success stories lifted my pma!!!!

Best of luck to you all! Keeping fingers crossed for each of you.

Hey eggheads..

CLA- you can butt in anytime hun. As yes uplifting stories are wonderful to hear...thank you so much for thinking of us and sharing that. :D :D Vanelncia i think that is where Poochie is going!!!! :D

anna- Thanks for checking in on us as always your help and support is much valued. Amazing that you went to Husa A too. DH and di checked it out last time we were there as it was nearer for ET. It looks a lovely hotel. Was the food good? Found Atena's fod excellent too. But then i love fish tapas and Spanish food anyway.
As for your last cycle ....I remember all the stress surrounding test and then low beta, you had with Matthew too. Now look at the big "Chubster". He is such a happy Soul i showed DH photos on photobucket last night. DH is so laid back about all this donor stuff says he doesn't care who the child looks like as long as we can be parents and share that together. Bless !!!

As for my AF: kep taking tabs from gp until a week wednesday ( day 26). then hope AF turns up by the 24/25th Aug and then start bc pills so tmt begins...woo hoo. After waiting a year to go through this DE cycle and all the grief and emotions around it i truly feel ready to get to the preggers Stage. BRING IT ON !!!! :D :D I want to be a Mamma!!!!

Much love to you all...

Hi

Got it Anna thanks, have sent you a reply

Just had counselling and was feeling better then just got home and IM emailed. They said its a public holiday in Spain tomorrow so they will email on Thursday :x another day to wait. Then they said if all is well then we will probably have ET in the next 2-3 WEEKS, surely they mean days and then but it will probably be the week after??? Then at the end they said to reserve the flights but with insurance so we can cancel---my head is like mince again.
We are just going to have our scan then wait for info on Thursday.

Oh i wish it was all over

Love Jen x

Hi Eggheads :D

Jen B- So glad to hear that you are feeling better and well enough to take Broc for a walk :D . I take my last pill tomorrow am, I did email IM this afternoon to make sure but they havent got back to me and Jen said on her post that its a holiday there tomorrow so I'll just have to do as they told me. To be honest I havent asked anything about the ed yet, I thought I would wait till I started the patches and then hassel them then about it. Thanks for all your kind words they do help a lot! :D I havent heard anything off the acu lady yet, I will email her again before the end of the week.

Jen 1- Your post made me laugh with the ugly donor bit  , maybe we wont be able to send them back but they may give a discount! lol  I have been thinking of what they could look like, if this tmt does work we wont have a clue what the baby will look like (using donor sperm too) Its a weird feeling. I hope your dream comes true and Im sure it will, well all except the airport hanger that is! Dont worry about the weight thing Im sure you are worrying over nothing. Sorry about IM messing you about with info and embryo freezing etc I hope you got the email I sent you earlier about it. I hope you get some sense from them on thursday. Good luck with the scan tomorrow, I will be thinking of you.

Carolyn- Sorry about your wobble, I am ok 99% of the time but occasionaly I find it difficult :? . I am trying to just focus on the +ves too!
Hope you are not working too hard.

Anna- Its so interesting reading about how your treatment went, I cant believe you thought that the 2nd tmt hadnt worked and you stopped taking your meds :? , It must have been one hell of a lovely surprise  when the blood test came back +ve!! It would not bother me at all to have a baby with brown eyes and dh has said that he couldnt care less if they were pink!(but I hope they aren't!! lol  )

Cla- Thanks, yes it does help to hear of the success stories :D makes me feel more +ve about things.

Rebecca, Kim, Vicki hope you are all well, thinking of you all. x

Sorry if this post doesnt make much sense, Im knackered! I didnt sleep very well last night so bed early for me tonight. Last pill tomorrow and then jigging for af to come on time so I can slap a patch on!

Take care
lots of love

Hello Ladies,

Just another quick one as am at work. The ER went really well and they got 15 eggs. Sister did great and recovered far quicker than any of my times. This mornings wait for the phone call was a killer but we got 12 fertilised!!! all with ICSI. So I'm on for Saturday. I am so happy and nervous and scared all at the same time.

Sounds like some of you are catching me up - sending hopes and luck to all of you and looking forward to hearing your good news soon

Hey ladies,

Sorry so long to post. I have been snowed under at work and then when I did post, I posted on the wrong thread. Whew!!! Thanks for the precious reminder JenB.

I had several paragraphs already typed and dummy me refreshed and lost it all. So I'll try this again.

Jen1 - so sorry about the confusion from IM. I know I like to have a good grasp on dates and schedules so I understand the irritation and stress. Maybe Thursday you will get it all cleared up. I wouldn't think they mean't weeks. That's a long time to be on E2 to build up lining. Are you doing a fresh ED cycle or frozen?

Rebecca - How did the egg retrieval go yesterday? How is your sis? Hope everything is fine - like a BIG easter - EGGS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!

Gill - Hey you start BC pills tomorrow. You are on the runway, now just get prepared for takeoff!!! Hope everything goes smooth for you.

The three of you are so close on your tmt, I have to use the list to track the specific days. You will be our first BFPs!!

JenB - your DH is so sweet!! Is there anything that gets him stressed? Sounds like we will be about two weeks apart on our cycle. I am expecting AF on 9/3 and starting bc pills on the 4th. I'm with you girl on the "I want to be a Mamma!!".

Anna - thanks for all your wonderful encouragement. You are a mommy that we all admire - we all aspire to be where you are in a few months. So see, isn't it nice to think of yourself as a role model, hero, etc.

Carolyn - I know exactly what you mean about grieving over "our" eggs. I've cried many a tear over these old eggs of mine. But I have cried even more tears over the thought of not being able to have any more children. I want babies so bad and even more for my DH who has never experienced childbirth and babies. (My DS was 5 when we met.) You will have to pass on all that knowledge from all the books you are reading. Please share - I would love to hear some highlights. If there is one that is especially good give me the title and author.

I went to the IVF-Infertility pregnancy calculator and it will calculate several different ways. If using IVF, you put in your EC date and by the projected dates that the Dr. gave it should be July 11. My DS birthday is June 29. Wow, that will be close.

I have finally got some specific dates for meds and procedures. We have an IVF teaching (sounds stupid after 2 but this is when we sign all the paper work and pay pay pay $$$) on Aug. 29. AF is expected on 9/3 and will start BC pills on 9/4. I will start Lupron on 9/16. EC will be 10/19 or 20 and that is when I will start Delestrogen, and ET will be 10/24 or 25. Preg Test will be 11/2 or 5.

I will try to update the list before I go home from work.

Let's all dream about BFPs tonight!!!!

Real quickie as busy busy day at work.

Just stopped by to see how Rebecca and her dear sister did. Wonderful news. Glad that your sis recovered so well. You must have been relieved - for you both. You are going to lead the charge of BFPs.

Jen1d - sorry that Big B are giving you the run around. Sure that they mean days not weeks hun. Just hang in there. You are almost there. I will be going spare by this juncture. Hope that scan showed that all is well and coming along nicely

Kim - so cool that you have dates. I hope that I will not be so far behind you

Anna - thank you. Cannot believe what you lived through. But you got there in the end

Gill - pink eyes. LOL. Dh and I were talking last night and he was saying that we have to tell the child and he does not care if the whole world knows as it is nothing to hide

Vicki and I will be bringing up the rear with those last couple of BFPs.

Cla - good to hear stories like that. Thanks for sharing

Gill - Jigging for you. Any sign of

JB - so pleased that you are starting to feel better.

Hugs to everyone. 2 books arrived last night. Dh went out to his mates to watch footballl and almost read 1 book in the evening. Really good read. Discussed all the questions that we are talking about on here with quotes from people who had been through the experience of either DS or DEs - tell or not tell the child? tell or not to tell friends and family? how close a physical match? how to tell the child - age/means (books)? the differences between known and unknown donors? siblings?

There appears to be a very strong case growing that telling the child is critical. Hiding the truth appears to be a high pressure situation. That telling those who will be supportive is also valuable. dh and I are both clear on this already - we will tell the child and we will tell those around us. However growing trend to want more info about the donor from parents and children. That will be a hard issue for those of us going to Spain. Worry that the child will feel that I have been selfish but just cannot endure the UK waiting lists. Sweden offers more info on the donor but we are both really dark.

Out tonight with a mate (from where I used to work) who is having donation from her sister. Just about to start a frozen cycle. Loads of chit chat for me but no reading. Expect to finsh the 1st book before the weekend and read at least 1 more at the weekend so will keep you posted.

In 5 weeks time, we will have had our 1st appointment in Big B. Not that I am counting!!!!

Lots of Love
Carolyn

Hi Egg Heads

Jen pm'd me with a question about the time lapse between scan for womb lining and ET. I was just about to email her back and thought perhaps I would post here instead. Maybe other ladies would be interested too..?

Anyway,
Ist cycle, I had a scan on 12th June, and went to Barcelona for ET on 15th , so only a couple of days inbetween. On the 2nd cycle I had a scan on 11th July and went for ET a week later on 19th. So the time lapse was different, but Jen, I'm sure it won't be long now. How was your scan? Have you emailed IM the results?
Jen, so sorry it is a holiday over in Spain......frustrating I know..... I had a cycle cancelled here in UK when my clinic closed for a week and there was nowhere to have scans etc..so I know how you feel. Please keep focussing on that BFP. Super strong PMA to you. :)

Whilst looking for that info I found my records about the eggs/fertilisation etc...may as well share this while I'm here!!
1st cycle, we got 9 eggs, 5 fertilised and 2 transferred. 3 were deemed too poor quality to either transfer or freeze
2nd cycle, we got 7 eggs, 3 fertilised and all 3 transferred.

Sorry can't stay longer and do more personals, will check in again soon to see how you are all doing.

Good luck to all lovely ladies here
PMA all round
Hugs

 Hi Girls

Had my scan and the ovaries are fine and the lining is 4.4mm. It has to be between 7 and 8 so we are half way there which sounds about right as IM said yesterday that ET would probably been either 2-3 days but most likely in the next week. I have to change my patch tonight then sunday so the lining might be in tip top condition by then

I emailed IM the results and hopefully they will get back to me tomorrow as soon as possible so we can book the hotel and flights.

Anna - Thanks for being such as great help, as always.
Ok going to keep you working  What did you do about medication? Did you have to buy more for after your 2ww. If we get a bfn then it wont matter but if its a bfp  then i will need more pessaries. Do the clinic provide them or did you have to buy more and where did you buy them. We dont really want to buy them until we need them and i am going to ask IM if they can send them over to us, what do you think?
I thought you would have got more eggs than that, did the donor get more and you were just allocated 9 and 7? I'm praying for some frosties as we can afford to do another fresh cycle---hope we get them

Carolyn - One book in one evening----your way to clever for me
We dont really want to know about the donor, yes it would be facinating but i prefer not to know anything---of course it would be good to know she's not ugly lol :P. I agree with you about telling the child but somedays i feel i might not. I think once the baby is here then the decisions will be made then and you will follow your heart. As we havent told anyone they will ask where we had treatment and then wonder if it was with my eggs as they knew they are poor. Think i will wait and see if i get a bfp before worrying about it---got enougth to think of eh
Waiting lists :x i asked at the clinic today and they have a 5 year one for donors, i would be 42. The only good thing is i would be entitled to a fee go by then  Sweden sound just fine for me as i am a blondie---natural of course
Its great to hear about your info from the books, thanks.

Rebecca - Not long to go now, bet your getting excited.

Gill - Patches here you come. How you feeling so far are you getting ready for that headache---bet you dont get one, lucky thing  Jigging for AF :P
