usmcwife14 - YAY! That is so exciting! I love hearing about the BFPs! Please keep us all in the loop on your beta #s, u/s and everything else.

Stay Positive - I'm glad to hear there's another "oldie" in the group, too! Are you trying for baby #1 or do you have any other children? I have a DS who is going to be 4 in the fall. We conceived him naturally, but I have been pregnant a total of 5 times that I know of and only have 1 child. We are doing IVF because of my age (my DH is 35) and because we found out I am a carrier of a chromosomal issue. DH's spermies are fine. Even though the issues are with my eggies, we're still trying with my eggs instead of going the donor egg route. We figure we might as well try IVF to see if we get lucky. Good luck with your cycle!

I go for my 1st u/s tomorrow morning to measure my follies after being on stims since Friday. I hope it goes well. I've felt fine through the stimming process so far (no adverse side effects). I hope it continues.

Okay, I'm back from my day 5 u/s. I have 8 follies measuring between 12 and 16 mm and two more lagging a bit behind. The nurse thinks I might do my trigger this weekend and egg retrieval by Monday! I'm getting excited!

I should get my E2 levels back later this morning and should know when they want to do the next u/s. The nurse thinks I'll probably be in for the u/s on Friday morning.

How are you all doing?

Hello again ladies! Sorry it's been a little while since I've posted. It sounds like there are a lot of successful and very positive cycles going on right now! Let's keep the good karma going! I hope we are all lucky in achieving our BFP this month!!!

I have a few terminology questions; what do these abbreviations stand for?
PUPO
2WW
DPO
BCPS

Thanks in advance for teaching me the lango!

Rosario: Sounds like super exciting news for you...keep us posted on your beta test! Do you feel any different?

FFZ: How did your ER go? I hope you are feeling comfortable today. Let us know what you find out about your embies:)

Stay Positive: How are you doing?

saunagrl: How are you doing?

Eve3860: How did your beta test go?

acornmom: Super congratulations to you! Are you feeling any different?

Lauren526: Good luck with your ER!! Let us know how it goes!

rsdrisco: How is everything coming along? We are fellow upstate New Yorkers...are you seeing Dr. Kiltz?

hopeful_009: How are you feeling? Are you still having your ER on June 5th?

usmcwife1: Super congratulations to you as well! I like all of the BFPs! Are you feeling any different yet?

As for me, I had my ER last Thursday, 12 eggs, 11 injected (ICSI) and then only 3 were reported as fertilized the next day. I was so upset all Friday because other friends I had talked to usually had more fertilization. I was so worried all weekend that I wouldn't have any embryos to transfer. Monday morning came along and as soon as the doctor came in the room, he showed us the pictures of 9 embryos!!! I was so thrilled I started crying! I'm still not quite sure why they only told me three on that Friday, but moving forward it doesn't matter! I had my ET on Day 4, so my 2 embryos were late morula/early blastocysts. We were told they looked great, so hopefully one or both of them will stick! Going through all of these fertility treatments, I truly think I am in tune with my body, so I'm wondering if I will notice any settle changes/feelings between now and the beta test. I am so scared to take a home pregnancy test; my husband really doesn't want me to either, so I'm going to try to wait until June 11th...we'll see if I can make it!

I have one other question: what are normal "beta" numbers? I guess I just assumed you took a pregnancy test and it was either positive or negative. What is the significance of the beta numbers? I've heard of chemical pregnancies...what are those?

I will try to be better about checking more often now. I'm thinking of you girls :D Baby dust to all!

Hope everyone is doing well. I agree--there seems to be a lot of positive news already on this thread! Perhaps it bodes well for all of us! :D

rsdrisco: No, I do not have any other children yet (unless you count 4 dogs), so we are soooooo hopeful that this will work. I guess it's better late than never, but of course I am wishing I could turn back the clock, but I can't, so I just have to Stay Positive (hence, the name!). You are very lucky to alrady have a 4 year old! How great!

usmcwife: CONGRATS!!!! Holy moly--that is SUCH good news! I am living vicariously through you and very happy for your wonderful news.

Alexis: Today is the official START of my first ever IVF cycle. Just swallowed that first bcp and have about 2 weeks before the real meds start. I am thinking positively and getting excited (yet also scared to death of all these meds)......I'll keep everyone posted. I can tell you that BCPS means birth control pills, and 2WW means two week wait (after ET). Also, Good luck with everything! You are so close and I'm glad that the news got better for you! YAY!!!!

Everyone else, take care!!

lauren526 Good luck tomorrow on your ER, I am wishing lots and lots of good eggs for you!

Alexis No I don't really have any symptoms, just some cramping still, very bloated and emotional. Other then that nothing, I don't even have the sore boobs everyone else has. At first it kinda scared me, but now I just think its too early, most women don't even know their pregnant yet.

Stay Positive Wishing you a good first cycle. This was my first ever cycle too, so it can happen! Sending lots and lots of baby dust your way

Stay positive: Hi there. Last night I took my Ovidrel shot. Its amazing that these injections are actually seeming a lot less painless than I remember when I did my IUI's. Anyway this morning I took my first antibiotic and tomorrow at 09h30 I am at the clinic for the egg retrieval. I havent experienced any serious ovulation cramping yet. Hope that's not a bad sign. my breasts are very sore and big. I have resorted to wearing ugly old-lady style bras cos they are so much more comfortable right now

Tomorrow I have take pretty much all my meds which includes the antibiotic, Estrofem, Cyclogest and Meticorten. I will keep you posted on how things went.

Alexis: Am excited and afraid at the same time but I guess thats pretty normal. My procedure is tomorrow morning. Am keeping my fingers very tightly crossed for you and your little embryos. I have learnt through my IUI's not to rely on tweaks and twinges as signs of anything cos' they are so fickle . Just stay positive, not much longer to go now.

Abbreviations

Post by hopeful_009 »

Alexis: Here's my try at the abbreviations:

2ww - two week wait
DPO - days past/post ovulation
BCPs - birth control pills

Am also curious about the PUPO.

Staypositive - I thank my lucky stars every day that I have my DS. It'll happen for you, too! I know it! My older sister had identical twin girls at 42 and another woman that I take aerobics with recently had a baby at 43 or 44! So it can happen, even after 40.

alexis - I am in rochester, ny. I go to the Strong Fertility Center and see a # of different doctors (depending on who is on that day). I kind of like it that way. And the nurses are wonderful there! You can see "normal" beta #s at this website: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/during ... evels.html. Also, if you just do a google search on beta levels, you can check out many other sites that list this type of information.

usmcwife14 - That beta is huge! How many DPT are you? Are you thinking there's a good chance it might be multiples?

I am scheduled for another u/s tomorrow morning. My E2 levels yesterday were 1014, so the nurse lowered my follistim dosage again. She thinks I will probably do the trigger this Saturday night and go in for ER on Monday morning!

rsdrisco Yes, the nurse says there is a good chance of twins. Its either twins or a really strong singleton. The nurse said they like to see numbers high then 100 for a healthy pregnancy and mine was 600. Either way I am happy happy happy
