Carolyn,
Thanks for your concern. Everything went fine. I love my new OB! Took another ultrasound & there is two (thank God not 30 I was worried with that high beta #. The one baby has his/her hands on their face like an OH NO or WHOOPS expression- it's the cutest thing. She said the are measuring right & good strong heartbeats. Nothing to worry about. Got all my questions answered & a prescription for this lousy 24/7 nausea. It is actually working- I'm not 100% but very functionable. She says we take it day by day but no Florida trip for Xmas. My parents are renting on condo on the water for the winter & I was really looking forward to spending the holidays in sunny FLA. Doctor says there is a risk of pre-term labor with twins. She said keep working & will see how your cervix does- could end up on best rest but no telling. I'm joining a gym & hiring a trainer to help keep me shape- doc gave me the green light.
Kind of busy this week- sorry no posts. Sort of in my own little world somedays. Scared about the two for a variety of reasons. I think the shock is starting to wear off. I think of all of you so much. I hope all is well. Take care!

Sabi,
Sorry about the nausea... glad you are getting some relief with medication. I've been experiencing queasiness 24/7 but no vomiting. It seems like it is easing up slightly but whenever i say that it seems to get worse:)

Carolyn, got my ticker back, don't know what happened there.

Hi Summer, what have you been up to?

XOXO

funny you should write that, carolyn -- I was just thinking about you and chriss this morning and how great it is that you are both so far along!

carolyn - how are you feeling these days? I am sure you are really looking forward to your upcoming scan! "Only" another 2ww for you and you will also hit that magical 12 week mark!

chriss - when is your next appt? How often do you see your ob/gyn? Hope the nausea is beginning to subside and that you are starting to feel much better now that you are into your 2nd trimester! Are you having any testing done? I would guess in a few weeks, you'll even start feeling them moving around -- that is really the best. It is one of the highlights of my day.

sabi - sounds like the m/s really has a hold on you! Did your mother also experience it? Do hope you will enjoy your upcoming holiday on the east coast! When do you have to go back to work? How far along will you be at that point?

I am doing well. Summer weather has finally returned to Germany for a few days and I am trying to take advantage of all the vitamin D! :D

My blood sugar levels were going up while I was on holiday, but now seem to be back to normal. I saw the diabetes doc yesterday, who said I am still on the borderline with GD and will meet with the dietician on Monday to see how to improve my diet even further. Only I've been showing signs of GD, the baby is doing just fine -- measuring on track and I don't have an overabundance of amnionic fluid, both of which are signs that GD is affecting the baby.

Other than that, I've been having trouble with my low blood pressure (something I have, even when I am not pregnant) and have to drink even more  and eat more salty foods -- Suddenly my body is really reacting to being pregnant, I guess!

My next appt at the ob/gyn is on Monday.

Have to start getting serious about shopping for what we need, as I only have 10 weeks to go! Yikes!

Thinking of all of you and hope all is well. Enjoy this time, it goes by quickly -- at least it has for me!

xx summer

Hey Girls,

I tried catching up on the eggheads thread, but it was too much. I've been off the boards for a bit and feel out of the loop over there. I knew I could find you guys here:)

Summer, how was the hospital tour? What color did you do the nursery? Where did you get your crib bedding? Tell me all about the nursery. We just started looking.

Hey Carolyn, did I read you were camping???

Sabi... 35 lbs!!!! That does seem nuts. I've already gained 16 lbs!!! I think I was told 40-45 lbs is a good amount for twins. Have you gained much?

Hi girls -
Hope all is well. I must admit, that I have been lucky and have been off work since my 1st scan. I can't imagine working f/t with all the tiredness and everything that comes with being pregnant! Thinking of all of you!!

Our hospital tour went well. There were probably about 40 couples there! We were surprised at the turnout...Next, I have to schedule an appt with the midwife and again with the doctor who will do the c-section and get everything squared away.

chriss -- our nursery is really just 1/3 of our bedroom -- so we didn't do anything special with colors or themes. The walls are a very pale blue - I think the color was called mist or something like that when we originally painted it - very serene...We've also put up a wallpaper border of hydrangeas and we bought a changing table and crib in a sage green on ebay from a couple who didn't live too far away from us. Right now, we only have the changing table set up with a cradle we bought (also 2nd hand), which is white - along with the wardrobe, bookcases and rocking chair, which are also white -- As far as bedding goes, I only have sheets for the cradle and I've made a blanket and some other accessories -- We are waiting to see what we are having to buy anything for the crib. I still want to put something up on the walls and get a nice lamp, a mobile or two, you know, the fun stuff --
At some point, the baby will have its own room, but that will take some time, as DH will have to relocate his home office and we just aren't ready for that right now!

What are you guys thinking about? Are you going to find out what you are having? That must be coming up pretty soon, I would guess! Hey, how is your knitting going by the way? If you want any easy patterns for hats or booties, or this blanket I made, let me know!!
In just a few weeks, you will probably start feeling movement - that is really, really the best.

Sabi - enjoy your scan on Monday! When was your last one? I am sure your babies have grown by leaps and bounds!

Anyway, I am off to bed. Am having the hardest time sleeping past 5 or 6am, which wouldn't be so bad if I weren't already such a night owl! I almost always have to nap in the afternoons, which always feels great, but I still have so much to do here in the next 7 weeks!

Looking forward to reading more updates. I like hearing how things are going with all of you. Still thrilled that this has worked for all of us. I had pretty much given up hope that I'd ever get my BFP, and that is exactly when it happened.

xx summer

Hi Carolyn,
welcome home! funny thing with the air mattress -- sometimes I wake up in the night and just can't get back to sleep and then go and sleep on the couch and that seems to work -- Whatever gives you the best nights sleep, do it!
I think until you get past the anatomy scan, which should be your next one, you will always be worried. I relaxed quite a bit after the 20 week mark. Now, I am worried again being so close that something could go wrong - but do my best to keep up my PMA! Soon you will also feel them starting to squirm and kick and that is really very reassuring and wonderful.

Do you see a doctor or a midwife in between scans, like once a month, to check your weight, urine and blood work?

Hey, I am very impressed that you guys are waiting to find out what you are having, especially with twins! Did you and DH decide together or is one more in favor of it than the other? My DH really didn't want to know and I went along with it. Now that we are almost there, he can't wait to see what we are having! Just make sure you tell the doctor, nurses, technicians - anyone who might know, upfront and every time that you don't want to know the gender -- or they are liable to spill the beans at some point!!

To chriss and sabi - hope all is well with you and your babies!!

Take good care of yourself and show off that bump!!
