Rypell - AWESOME! I'm so glad that your thyroid is back to normal...step by step each moment will fall into place. So, when do you start stims?

Sorry Ladies I have not written in a while, I've been so busy, I have been reading but just no time to post plus there was nothing really going on with me.

PMasy- the reason why i'm jumping back so quickly is because i had a very rough pregnancy with my DD and the doc suggested the sooner i start on the 2nd one the better. I have a weak cervix and pre-term labor so although I'm still young its best for me not to wait too long. He said in my case the cervix might get weaker over time. However, if this doesn't work then I probably will have no choice but to have to wait because non of my fertility treatments are covered.

You mentioned something about PIO and why some RE still do it. With me i had a horrible side effect with Crinone, from the moment i took it i had terrible cramps and was on the floor screaming from pain, i thought my uterus was going to fall out it was sooo painful and on top of that i got BFN, with the PIO i never got any cramps and it didnt really hurt its not as bad as it looks. So for me i have no other choice but my RE let me choose what i wanted, he doesnt mind either or.

rypell- yey on your thyroid!!! thats awesome, I used ganirelix with y 1st try, i think it works the same as lupron, it surpesses your ovaries not to ovulate, the second try i did lupron but i had a totally different protocol I also think (if im not mistaken ganerelix is more expensive than Lupron)

DCRunningMama - congratulations on your DS!!! if you hadnt had any problems with your pregnancy than i would say go for transferring two! I had a rough pregnancy and almost lost my DD so i have no choice but to transfer 1 and also i have only one frozen so if it thaws it will work out perfect! I would love twins and be over with dealing with infertility but i just had too many complications. I'm doing a FET sometime in May too :)

AFM I got pushed back because i didnt get my AF  so I'm starting my provera tommorow and wait for AF than do the sono and start lupron, I hope I make it to transfer i May but i might not, I might end up in early June. Oh well I'm ok with it, I'm not rushing into things this time around.

ok ladies I hope everyone is doing well and keep the updates coming, I'm so excited to be here and share the experience!!

tiger04...I should start my stims with my next af, which is due on April 29 (in an ideal world), but because I have never gotten af on my own in my WHOLE life, I will likely start 10 days of provera the 29th. Pattern has shown that I get af about 3 days after completing 10 days of provera, so I am thinking around the 11th or 12th-ish?? My RE nurse told me yesterday that the embryologist is going out of town in May , so they MAY have to put me on bcp for a bit to hold me over until he will be available for ER. At this point I am just so excited that I have no more set backs on my road to finally starting!

Hello Ladies! I haven't been on here in ages, but I decided to jump on and see who was doing what, and I am excited to see so many familiar names!

Rio, Tammy, PMA, Dys, and anyone else I cycled with, bump buddied with, parented with and may have missed- Good luck to you all! I wish I could say I were here cycling again, but I am not. Just checking in on everyone. I will try to keep track of this thread and figure out where all of you are in the cycle process.

Dys- Wow, can't believe you are at it again already! I will send you an email.

Take care everyone, I will check back soon.

Hi Michele...I was just thinking about you today and am so excited to see you on here. Though, I wish you were bringing us good news that you were at it again. Did you ever inquire about that job? I saw something on the news today that some guy found an old atari game cartridge and just sold it for $31,000 on ebay...and I thought ...wonder if you have anything like that laying around that would help you get another cycle in. Also, have you looked into the grants they have out there? A friend of mine in Ohio just got one for the Cleveland Clinic...maybe another route. Missing you. Big Hugs.

Hi Tammy. Thanks for thinking of me. So nice to know I have so much support out there. I just passed the CT exam to get my cross endorsement to teach middle school math, so I am thinking about applying for jobs in the fall. I looked into some of the grants, but unfortunately I don't qualify for most of the programs b/c I am overweight. I am working on that now. My husband and I lost over 200 lbs between the 2 of us years ago on a low carb diet, but gained it all back with quitting smoking, infertility stress and becoming parents, so we are doing it again. In just 2 weeks he has lost 20 and me 10, so we are on our way again. Wow, I can't believe that atari game. I have lots of old video games, but none that are worth much money. I have checked. I like to sell anything of value on amazon if I can. My husband is looking into some state jobs too, which would get us unlimited infertility benefits. So I think we will be back trying again within a year. I wanted Ella to be close in age with her sibling, but at this point I will take what I can get. I don;t care about the age difference, I just want her to have a sibling and for us to have another child.

I see you are preggers! Congrats! How exciting, I am so happy for you.

Thanks for the tips about the oil injections from everyone, I will keep all of them in mind. My doc does oil then if you are pregnant switches to suppositories.

DCRunningMama - I am actually in the same situation almost. I have a beautiful set of twins and we want one more and I have to decide in a few weeks to transfer one or two. I was able to carry my twins to full term and they were born without spending any time in the NICU. I belong to a twins group and I would say about 40% were full term and 60% spent some time in the NICU. The first 6 months were the hardest, but now the kids are 2 and it has lots of perks, they have a built in playmate=) If you want more specifics you can send me a private message and I will tell you all about life with twins=)

Rypell - great news!

Tiger - a medicated cycle with IUI has a lot fewer meds (for me anyway) then IVF. I always found the IUI to be painless too.... this is how I ended up with twins though=)

Last BCP tomorrow! Woo-hoo!

I would like to crash this site. I have been lurking on these boards since Feb. 2008, when I was going through my first IVF. We have been ttc since 2004, but my tubes are completely blocked (due to endo and adhesions from a ruptured appendix) and IVF is our only chance of getting pregnant. I am grateful that it worked the first time and I have been blessed with a wonderful son, Wesley. One my first transfer, the embies were very slow dividers and kinda of on the poor side. Most died within the first two days and we had to do a 3dpt, with the best one being a 6 cell (should have been at least an 8 by then). But my little miracle 6 cell pulled through!! And here we are AGAIN! We want another child so badly and are planning our 2nd attempt. I am so scared that it won't work, especially since I am two years older and my eggs are not getting any better. But I know I will regret it for the rest of my life if I don't try again. I started BCP on 4/16, with the plan of starting lupron on May 9th and ER/ET the first week of June (if all goes well). This time around I want to be an active participant on this board and not suffer in silence. I look forward to going on this journey with all of you and wish you all babies in the near future.

CT_MicheleI am glad to see you are still around! I cycled with you a couple of times last year. You were so knowledgeable and keep the thread so nice and up to date. Sorry to hear you and DH are not trying at present time! I can't believe Ella is so old! Congrats on passing your boards and good luck with your future IVF. Sounds like you and DH are on a great start with the weight loss! I wanted to thank you for all your support in the past and hope to hear from you again.

AFM, just waiting on my fert report this morning! I am anxious to hear how my embies are doing................I am trying a different protocol this time during my 2WW, anyone have any information or success with intralid infusion, HCG injections during 2WW or lovenox injections during 2WW? Any information would be great................Wish me luck.

So I too am new to this whole IVF thing. I started to take BCP on Wed and start my Lupron shots next Sat. I go in for the HSG on Mon and my test egg retrival. I had 34 antral follicles on my last us but I got my FSH level back and it was 11 (norm is anything less than 10 according to the nurse). I am waiting on my AMH level and it should be back on Mon or Tues. So far my projected egg retrival date is May 17 :P
It is nice to be able to read about all of you guys experience.

Thanks so much,
Julie

Dys – wow that sounds horrible with the pains you were getting with crinone. I’m glad that there is an alternative for you. Also, sounds like you had a rough pregnancy with DD. What was happening? Any way knowing what you know now that your next pregnancy will be different? Ugh. Don’t you hate when things are delayed! I was delayed last month because of Jury Duty, so I totally feel your pain!

Rypell – I hear you! I will wish no more setbacks for you! Do they know why it’s hard for you to get AF on your own? I have a girlfriend that is just starting to ttc and she told me that she met with her nurse because she hasn’t been able to get AF on her own for her whole life. She’s been on BC for a long time now, but has been off BC at various times for different reasons over the past 10 years and when she was off, she never got her period. Because of that, she thinks they will have difficultly conceiving…which may make sense…I don’t have a lot of advice for her, so if you have any suggestions, I’d love to pass them along to her. She had lots of tests done about a week ago for thyroid…etc and doesn’t have the results back yet, so those might give more insight as well.

PurpleFish – thanks for the info on IUI…painless is good! Congrats on the last BCP! I can’t believe you are sick. Is this going to be a problem? Ugh. Keep me updated!

Lisadcb – Welcome! Congrats on your wonderful son Wesley. How old is he now? Just over a year? Well, if it worked once, I think you have a great great chance of it happening again!

Anissa – 5 good ones is great! Keep up the PMA! Can’t wait to hear how the transfer went! Stay off your feet! You’ll have to let us know!

Julie – welcome! Sounds like you are well on your way! May 17th will be here before you know it! What has brought you to IVF? What is your story? Wishing you lots of luck!

AFM…nothing new here..this month is dragging on forever! I am hoping to get AF on April 26th..this Saturday. Please come on time..please come on time!
