kizmet - ha ha ha. Hee hee. (on a few fronts). Sounds like Mr Magoo is exerting his powers of domination in ever-increasing-Australiasian-fertility-circles. WHAT. THE. Are you sure there isn't a bit exchange program going on between where you're at and down in welly?? Well hey I really hope tomorrow goes well. My ovaries are ready to pop right now. Another excuse to eat a huge bagel at lunch I told myself. (If I'm bursting out of my jeans - I may as well enjoy it!)

Jersey Jane - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sounds like a winning combination! Another US for you too - that makes three of us tomorrow then. Hope it all goes well. It's comforting to know am not the only crazy. My poor mum gets it too sometimes! No one knows how to say the right thing. But I guess how can they?

Blair- hope the waiting out goes okay! Well done on getting to the next hurdle on Friday. ...small wins hey! Friday is a bit of a day for all of us. Ouch - that really bites that 50% of your work force are all pregnant. Do any of your colleagues know that your going through treatment?

Are any of you ladies doing acupuncture before the transfer? I don't know if its worth while. The clinic recently set up and had an acupunturist based at the clinic to do a session before transfer for anyone that wants it. I guess it can't hurt.

AFM: Huge ovaries. Tight Jeans. Headache. Panic that it's all going to go pear shaped. I don't want to vent . . but my greatest fear is around the embryo quality. DH is a smoker (arrrggghhh I hate it so much) which has for a long time and continues to cause me stress and real sadness/deseration. He's never been able to stop and I feel like we are going in with a half baked chance. Just don't seem to be able to get into a positive headspace and am freaked that this is going to influence the end result . . . .

Jersey- I am actually not sure what my clinic recommends for lining, but somewhere between 8-11 sounds about right. I know once mine was 9.5 and the NP was happy with that, but at 7.6 she wanted it thicker. I'll just show up and hope my body did what it needed to.

Melo- No one except one friend (who did IVF 6 times) know what we are going through. Our family and a few friends know we have been trying for almost 2 yrs, but they dont know any of the details of the Infertility stuff over the past 8 months. I just preferred to keep it to ourselves to avoid additional stress/pressure. Hopefully we will just be able to wait until I am about 10-12 wks (October I hope!!) and tell everyone then what we have been going through. As for the acupuncture my friend recommended that I either do that or a massage. I got a massage last time right before the transfer and it was nice. I am going to schedule a couples massage for me and DH the morning of the transfer this time. Try not to stress about embryo quality though...Stay positive. My DH actually smoked when I met him and I hate smoke, we had a fight about it one night and he slept on the couch- hasnt smoked since then (going on 4 yrs smoke free now). Just keep your head up!

kizmet- Stinks that you go through so many up and downs with your clinic. Since we are all paying so much and going through all these trying experiences I feel like they should be as supportive for you as possible. When I go to the office I actually feel like the whole staff knows me and really cares about what happens. Good luck though.

Melo - Thank you for the birthday wish. It was really nice, got to go out to dinner with the family and have a few drinks, I needed that. As a matter of fact I am doing accupuncture this time around. I haven't done it with any other cycles but I figured what the hell do I have to lose. My accupuncturist is not affiliated with my clinic and unfortunately she has two offices, and the one that's close to my home only has office hours three days a week and they are not there the day of my transfer. I have an appointment to go the day before my transfer and then one again for the day after my transfer. I am not sure if I should go during the two week wait. Any suggestions?

AFM - Went to ultrasound appointment this morning. Lining is 12 and doctor said it looks good. I am leaving for North Carolina on Saturday and will return on Saturday the 14th so I have to go to doctor on the 15th and that day I'll start PIO for my transfer on the 19th.

Blair - Thank you so much, I can't wait to relax on the beach. We are leaving tomorrow night at 10 p.m. to get there for 7 a.m. Oh yeah, did I mention we are driving. So much fun right but being that we are renting a house and have a ton of stuff especially for Alexandra we really don't have a choice. I will try to check in at least once to see how everyone is doing. I don't have a laptop, probably the only person on the planet so I will use my sister-in-law's but I don't want her seeing what I am up to. She doesn't need to know my business, she has a blabber mouth.

Well girls thanks for the warm welcome.

Happy Birthday JerseyJane! (I am from Long Island-we are just a hop skip from one another!!)

Kismet-it is super stinky that the clinic should treat you that way. I cannot even imagine with the amount of money that you we are all playing and the stress that we are under that they couldn't be nicer! I agree with Blair-my clinic treats me like family and that is the way it should be-you are in there enough getting poked and proded!

Melo-try not to stress over the quality of the transfer. Even the scientists have no reason why one egg sticks and another doesn't. We transferred so many grade A, as I like to call them, that didn't stick and it was a grade C that did...It is sooooo frustrating though, but that is why we're here!

AFM-got the call this morning that my transfer will be on Wed. I start shots on Sunday and have to call on Tuesday to find out the time of transfer....

JJ - Sorry, I meant to add Happy Birthday to my post yesterday! Oh, what I wouldn't do for a few glasses of wine, but I've promised myself that I wouldn't. I figured it was easier to cut out the wine that the sugar - let's just manage one thing at a time! On the wine front, I'm really going to struggle though the 2ww as prior to embarking on this cycle, I'd arranged two parties at my house on subsequent weekends right smack bang on the 2ww. Some friends are flying in to catch up with the sole purpose of finishing off a few bottles of wine and catching up over old times! So I've been busily trying to find myself a bottle of dealcoholised wine that doesn't taste like urine (not that I know what that tastes like, it just looks like it and tastes awful!) :D So if anyone has any tips about passing yourself off as drinking plenty of wine whilst remaining completely sober, I'm happy to accept any help I can get! Nobody in the group of friends know that we are doing IVF and I'd like to keep it that way! Congrats on the lining too! Good luck with the transfer.

Melo - hope those tight jeans are holding in some awesome eggs for you!

Blair - My clinic will schedule transfer when the lining is over 5mm

Melmar - funnily enough my clinic treats me beautifully when I go in there but their phone support is USELESS!

AFM - off for my appointment now and hopefully get a date for transfer next week! Wish me luck!

Melmar - Thank you neighbor and omg you are the first of our group how exciting that your transfer is already next week, by this time next week you will be PUPO!!! At least you'll be busy planning your parties so your 2ww should fly by, or at least I hope it does.

Kizmet - Thank you as well. Funny you mention the sugar thing because I didn't cut out that either, I don't think I ever could. As far as the wine I figure a glass here and there won't kill anyone, especially when I am on vacation with my DH's family. I don't want to raise any red flags and me not having at least a glass probably would. I did promise myself to limit a glass of red wine before dinner a couple of times while I'm away, I did the same thing with my successful fresh transfers so what the hell right.

Blair - One more day til estrogen, yay.

kizmet- How exciting that you get to plan on a transfer next week!!! Congrats and I cant wait to find out the date! You and Melmar will be PUPO in no time!!

Melmar- As for the wine drinking good luck. I always feel the same way, every time we are in the 2ww people want to hang out and drink. I have to try and come up with something before hand just to keep things underwraps. Usually I can say its my turn to be the designated driver...but if you all are staying home it might be tougher. You could do mixed drinks....those are easier to fake than wine.

Jersey- Have fun and have a safe trip. I guess I never officially said Happy Birthday either....sorry about that.

AFM- Started estrogen!! I have been very crampy and mean lately so Im really hoping this perks me up a little (so is DH).

Kizmet-so exciting that your transfer will be next week! Looks like we will be going through the 2WW together. I have a perfect way to have everyone think you are drinking your wine when you are not...just go to the bathroom every once in a while and dump it in the toilet. I know it is a waste, but at least it won't raise any red flags and people will see you filling up your glass more than once...I just tell people it is tooooo hot for wine, that I would rather water or seltzer to cool down.

Jane-hope you enjoy your trip and that the drive won't kill ya. It is hard to travel with children!

Blair-hope the estrogen helps with your crankiness. Personally, it makes me a little cranky-I just feel bloated and yucky by week two...and when you are trying to lose those last pregnancy pounds (that should have been off a year ago) it doesn't do any good for the mental state either :)

Melmar - Thank you someone else who feels bloated on estrogen. You are so right, the first week is not bad but by week 2 you are so bloated. I keep complaining to my husband that I don't want to wear a bathing suit because I am bloated and he tells me to shut up. My solution was I ordered 4 tankinis from Victoria's Secret for my vacationk. Problem solved!

melmar- I remember feeling bloated last cycle but its hard to say whether it was the stims or the estrogen. I guess we will find out soon. Patch and 1 pill down and just goes up from here.

jersey- Its funny you mention the tankinis you ordered. For the first time I had to purchase a tankini during the June cycle. Of course my sister asked why and I told her I was just self conscious...but since shes bigger than I am she was offended. In all reality I had a patch on my back and bruises on my stomach that I had to hide. But now if I need to head to the pool I am prepared this time (even though I have managed to stay bruise free so far- i think it was the follistim that did the bruising).

Blair - That's funny. The lengths we'll go to in order to hide what we're doing. I am waiting for the comments from my MIL like, "what no bikini?" She is used to seeing me in less, not more. Oh well, I'll just tell her I have my period and feel fat. Whatever right?

Melmar and Kizmet - Good luck on your transfers for the upcoming week. I have my fingers crossed for you both.

Everyone I am packing up the truck with DH so I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I will try to check in.

Hi All
Enjoy your break Jersey Jane!! A bikini is soooo far from my reality I can't even relate. Well a problem we'd all relish having I suppose more than once if we could - but I A) never lost the 5 kgs I gained through endless cycles of IVF (too scared to exercize through thenm) and then when I did get pregnant - I never lost the baby fat. I weigh the same now that I did when I was 8.5 months pregnant! It's hard for me to fathom as I was as big as a house too. Tankinis aren't even in my vocab!

Kizmet and melmar - do you have your exact transfer dates yet?

I am expecting collection on Tuesday - so if all goes well transfer towards end of next week.

Had second US today. Okay. But feel deflated. Eggs okay size - but now there only 7 (??) which I am sure is less than Friday. Was kind of rushed in and out. Lining okay - but also thinner than on Friday. Ugh. Waiting for instruction but expect to trigger tonight, and have collection on Tuesday.
