KatieG-I am having a boy and girl. At least we now know that we don't need 2 boy names or 2 girl names. We're actually close to settling on names. However, we are way behind on the babies' room. I haven't the slightest idea how I want to decorate it. We are thinking about getting 2 cribs, placing one in our bedroom and having them share that one for a few months or until they start to bother each other.
We have another growth scan next week just to make sure they are growing at the proper rate. Between growth scans and OB visits it seems like the babies are monitored every 2 weeks, which is reassuring.
I thought I had pigged out over Thanksgiving, but I didn't really put that much weight on at all.

KatieG YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH you are finally here, i am glad that you and the babies are doing well and you only have 1 week left from work, so are you planning to be a stay home mom for long time? i am asking because my hubby is asking me to stay home until the baby is 2 years old, but i don't know what my life will look like, maybe we could keep each other company.
Reenie congratulation!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on your babies boy and girl twins, i think you shouldn't worry about your weight gain as long the babies are doing great. Also we have enought time to get our nurseries ready, so far we only got the crib and we are planning to get the rest in the next 2 months. take care ladies.
Reenie we are doing the same thing w/ the cribs. We received the second one last week so DH needs to put it together. We too will keep them together as long as they do well. Thats awesome that you are having b/g twins. I am happy its 2 boys b/c 2 girls scard me more. Plus we have a boy at home so I still have all his stuff. I would ahve loved to get one girl but of course It doesn't matter either way.
Jamalia I stayed home with Parker until he was 18 months. I decided to go back for just a little while to help pay for our second try. I planned to work until the second was born but my doc wants me on a modified bedrest starting at 24 weeks which is exactly when school lets out for the holidays. Its a bit earlier but it will be good to get ready and spend some time with Parker before things completly change . I will be staying home from here on out. 3 under 3 would be some crazy expensive daycare and right now my Mom watches Parker and thats not ideal to stick her with all 3.
I hope everyone is feeling good. I have my glucose test a week from Monday other then that not much going on. I hope all the eating I have been doing since Thanksgiving don't come back to bite me. What do you both have next visit/US?

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've posted, but all is well with me and the babies. I'm very glad to see others have joined and are doing well. My due date is still 4/22 and my boy and girl was confirmed during the anatomy scan a couple of weeks ago. Ive gained about 28lbs (eeeek) but my ob says it's fine and the babies are gaining too, so all is well.
Anyways, take care!!

KatieG-what exactly is modified bedrest? Is it that you can go to work and then you have to spend the rest of your day in bed? Was there any particular reason for it? I'm hoping that I don't have to go on official bedrest at all. Unofficially, I have made it a point to spend some time in bed after work and for several hours over the weekend mainly because I'm tired most of the time. I hope that's enough to see me through to the end.
I get another growth scan this week at the hospital AND a visit to the OB as I am taking a trip via air and the doc wants to give me the once over before the trip. I will also get a note just verifying how far along I am in case the airline tries to give me hard time. I'm nowhere near the airline's cut-off point, but I'd rather be safe.
JustLikeHannah-Yay. More b/g twins. Have you picked out names yet? We've settled on the boy's name but are having trouble with the girl.

My doc told me around 10-12 weeks that he likes all his twim moms to do a modified bedrest at 24-26 weeks. He wants me laying/sitting down and resting most of the day off my feet. That includes not working, heavy lifting or cleaning. It's precautionary so that hopefully I can carry close as possible to term and try and prevent long term permanent bed rest. I will still be able to get out and do some stuff but I need to take it easy most of the time and. I have only one name picked out and I'm completly clueless on the other. I told my DH that we need to seriously figure it out. How are you ladies feeling. Do you feel achy or crampy low? I do but I think it's the way one is positioned. I can tell when I overdue it by the end of the day I am crampy. Do you ladies feel that or something else?

Reenie - We've settled on first names being Judah (boy) and Sarai (girl). We love them both and have no inclination to think about alternatives
KatieG - Thankfully I don't feel crampy at the end of the day, but I've been having pelvis pain, confirmed as a sciatic nerve when I am up on my feet a little longer than usual. My entire left butt check and thigh gets stiff and achy when pressure is placed on it. Usually the quick fix is laying in the bed and drinking water... and of course taking it more easy. Fortunately, my job and home life is low-impact and stress free at the moment and the only thing that has me up and about is going shopping or church related activites.
Question - Have you ladies started making your big purchase items or started the nursery? I'm trying not to freak out, but I haven't started anything. And the parentals (parents ) on both sides, keep saying to wait for the shower (scheduled for 1/29) and then we'll go from there. I don't like, and choose not, to live in the "what if's"... so my main concern is just wanting to be able to help get things situated and waiting late I may be so big and tired I can't help out. What are you ladies doing? Or what have you done already?

KatieG good that you are going for a modified bed rest, you are a lucky lady that your mom is watching your son, he doesn't have to go to day care or baby sitter. Infortunatlly for me I don't have a familly menber around, my sister lives in Minosota, my other family is in France and my mother inlaw lives in Boston, so we are by ourself here in California. I know for sure that I will stay with the baby until at least 1 year, then I will see from there.
Reenie100 have a safe trip, so are you considered high risk?
Justlikehannah welcome back glad to see that you and the twins are doing great, today i did some purchase like the swing, so as of today i have purchased the crib, the dresser, some clothes, shoes, some whole decorations, the baby books, and the stroller. I have someone who is doing an art painting on the whole (mural painting) for me it's almost done. I am planning to get the rest before the end of january. I think doing small purchases help a lot, because the more you get bigger the more you get tired easlly.

JustLikeHannah: I haven't purchased anything either. I haven't set up my registry. That being said, we do know what stroller we want and have decided on cribs and car seats. We just haven't bought them.
Jamila20: I think I'm considered high risk just by the fact that I'm having twins (plus I'm 40!).
KatieG: I sometimes feel a little pain in my lower abdomen, but I attributed that to round ligament pain more than anything else. It comes and goes. Some days I feel it, some days I don't. At the end of the day, I'm just exhausted. That's my biggest problem right now. I'm paying more attention to fetal movement these days. If a day or two goes by and they are quiet I get nervous!

Reenie did you go for your OB appointment yet if yes how was I hope you had a good trip and that the babies are fine.
AFM I went yesterday for my 1 hour glucose test it went well i had to drink the sweet drink they give, but i didn't complain since i love sweet drinks. My litlle girl moves like crasy it's just amazing, i hope all of you are doing great and getting ready for the holidays.
We had our follow-up growth scan this week and everything looks okay. Heartbeats are good. The babies have grown to about 1 lb 5 oz each and are right in middle of the high and low ranges for where they should be at this point.
My OB gave me the all-clear to fly next week. I'm still a little nervous about it, though. I will be flying in the 24/25 weeks and they are short flights broken up by a layover, which gives me time to walk around. This will definitely be the last trip I take, though. I will be staying close to home after this.

Hi ladies I hope you've had a great week. I did buy a crib and carseat. I will suggest that after you see what you like check Amazon for the same item. The carseat we got was 170 plus tax and shipping on Target and Babys r us. I typed in the descprition and it was only 140 with no shipping or tax on Amazon. We also did the same thing for the crib and got it 20% off with no tax and shipping on Diapers.com. I'm glad it's been an uneventful week for everything thats always best. I go for my gluclose test monday (I hope I pass) I have been eating a lot of chocolate . Have a great weekend!!

Jamila20-that's good news on the diabetes test. Was that just a blood test or something more involved? I'm due to have a blood test during week 26 or 27 and I think if that comes back problematic, I'm supposed to have a more involved glucose test.
Made it through the first leg of my flight trip with no problems. Drank plenty of fluids, got up a few times during the flight. I'll do the same on the flight back and hope everything works out.

Reenie I am glad that you had a safe and easy trip, take it easy and have a wonderfull holidays, so when are you flying back?
My test was just a blood test but i had to drink the sweet drink first and wait 1 hour before they draw the blood. I am happy that i pass the first one, my upcoming appointment is January 5, I noticed that i am having some contraction for the last 3 days, but i red in the book that it is normal they call it the Braxton hicks, so i am trying to drink more fluid.
I wish all of you a happy holidays, and take it easy.
